The level of chaos energy behind the phrase "Hi Grandma, we're in jail!" is so on brand for Strix.

I think he possibly felt anxious in front of big crouds and after so many years he wants to take a break from that. Understandable but it's still sad. He was always my favorite D&D player.
@@WhoGivesAFlyingDick I think he said that the lockdowns and spending time with his family had convinced him to make a change of direction so no more live events due to the travel and stress etc.

To everyone asking about Jim, Mike announced a while ago that he was retiring from the convention scene. He said he has no plans to retire Jim, but he won’t be participating at any more live events at conventions- at least for now.

I know that the conventions are a huge source of anxiety for him, he's spoken about that before. Of course the fans will miss him, but mental health is paramount.
Which in essence does mean Jim is retired outside of the streaming they do though I get how difficult this can be.
that fuckin sucks. by far my favorite character throughout the history of AI. he's gotta do what he's gotta do but this series isn't even remotely the same anymore unfortunately especially without jim
That's a shame, but I can totally understand it; I have bad enough anxiety myself just playing in remote games with people I know, heh. I hope they do some extra recorded sessions or something so he can still bring some of that Jim Darkmagic; I actually really liked the Acq Inc series format back when they tried it and was bummed when they gave it up after one season (though it did give rise to Acq Inc "C" Team so not all bad). But yeah, there has to be a way to still let Jim play, and somehow drag Patrick Rothfuss kicking and screaming back into a game or two while they're at it.

Oh my god it feels so weird and great seeing them play in person at a D&D table once again. And man was it good to see and hear a live crowd again as well. Overall this game was a fun time from top to bottom imo.
Yeah. I enjoyed the pre-recorded games, but the lack of an audience was like missing a vital ingredient which rounds out the flavor of the dish. Especially with the way they--Jerry in particular--tend to play to and off of the crowd. So glad to have that back! 😌

@@Teddybomb Lucky. I wish that my group was able to get back together and game in person, but unfortunately due to various circumstances we can't. Although my group will be gaming together again soon enough and hopefully my group will game in person before the end of the year.

It gets more cringe every year. The originals were awesome.
This one was a little harder for me to enjoy. So many new characters and change ups made it hard to keep my intensely invested feeling I have had about the others. I'm sure it's hard to have the usual folks there every time, but I definitely didn't get the same satisfaction. Great effort regardless!
Only 1 new character, Certainty, everyone else been on the show before, to the point they show up in lore and video games etc
Well, I'm afraid you'll have to get used to it. Mike Krahulik has officially resigned from live plays and Patrick Rothfuss allegdely can only join the game again once his third book has been published (which has a current expected publication date of 2045).
i have to say that the ship between evelyn and omin is one of the few ones i can get behind, because it is not so awkward like most others. it is like an antiship. hope they keep it that way and stay funny and weird and distant.
So good that it's back. The live version with the crowd really brings out their plays which i really missed.
This was a fantastic and funny show and i hope it will continue for many more years.
