I have placed another order for the 3D printed part that comes with 4 prongs. I'll let you know how I like that when it arrives. (I've added links in the description.). Sorry I sometimes said "Shoei" when I really meant the Cardo Shoei Adapter. Also, I had cancelled my order for the 3D one when Shoei came out with their version but I've now re-ordered it to see if I like that better.
Further update--Cardo wrote me back and basically told me that they designed their adapter in conjunction with Shoei and they could not violate Shoei's patent and this influenced the design of their part. I have the 3-D printed part on order and will see how that goes.
@@RamblinManMoto I figured it was something like that. Thankfully 3D printing exists. I've never done it before - first time using a 3D printing service, but this might open the door to a lot of custom parts that I've been wanting and can't find anywhere.
@@RandomHeroFromSpace Any update on this video? It's been a while. If you watch this video until the end (or scroll to the end), you'll see a video pop up that will take you to the update for when I purchased the 3D printed part. I've since moved on to the Neotec 3 helmet but the update on the Neotec 2 is in that video I mentioned. I made another video showing how I ordered it too.
I just followed the instructions across your two videos to order my 3D printed adapter and it fits like a charm. I don't have the entire thing setup but the adapter seems to feel solid.
Cool! I found the one for this helmet worked great and was indeed solid. The ones for the Neotec 3 on the other hand were disappointing flops until I found the last one I made a video about. Safe riding!
Thank you very much for making this video and providing the links for 3d printed part. I will have a friend make this for me. This is much better than what Cardo sells. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for making this video. I was also a bit concerned about the lack of photos on the Cardo website, but didn't think this was going to be their solution. Unbelievable. There are better 3D printing plans you can get for free and have custom made for cheaper than this piece of junk. How Cardo thought this was an acceptable solution is beyond me.
That stinks. Sounds like you fitted it with Cardo's adhesive. I honestly thought it would have worked. Glad I didn't even try. The clip version from Cardo may have worked but I didn't really want that either. The 3D solution has been perfect for me.
The plastic isn't smooth you could see when it fell off only a few bits had stuck. I also got the new cardo I should have stuck with the old one (if you pardon the pun😂) and got the printable one like you, I did check them out before I bought this one, but like you I expected more 🙄 oh well stick now. Hopefully your video saves someone else the bother, so good job to you sir 😊
No problem. I just added two links in the description of the video. You have to download the file from one site (STL file) and then find a 3d printer of your choice to print it. This is my first time having something printed like this. I went with the entity I found online and I put that link in the description. Hope this helps.
The adhesive they use is way stronger than the plastic clips. It’s a way better way to mount it. If you try to remove the adhesive mount you will destroy the mount. I had a sena installed in that spot with the clips and the unit was no where near as secure.
Reasonable minds will differ. I am perfectly happy with the clips I made via 3D printer and did not want more adhesive attaching to my helmet. I have a Sena installed on my other Shoei helmet with their plastic clips and I have zero problems with it, except that I hate Sena.
I was able to find a 3-D printed part that ultimately worked very well. But for the Neotec 3 that I purchased, the 3D printed solutions broke. I ended up using the "adhesive" one a bit further back on the helmet for that one and so far it's working fine.
Fair question. Right or wrong, I am basing my view on two Sena units that I have tried before. The first had an ear-piercing/very loud "ding" that would happen. It seemed to happen if you turned the volume all the way up and it would do it randomly. I tried interacting with Sena's customer service and it was just a pathetic experience. I bought the Sena for my Shoei half-helmet that is also designed for Sena and it was clumsy. Fiddling with the controls but no bad ding. But then it just stopped working. Again tried to work with Sena as it was under warranty. A terrible experience and never resolved. I bought a Cardo based on other reviews I saw online and lots of Moto channels saying they use Cardo (almost none said Sena), so I gave it a shot. I love my Cardo. No fiddling with it, good sound, etc.
Do you know of anyone who makes and sells the adapter for the Neotec 3? Just picked up a new Neotec 3 and still want to use my cardo. If I had a scanner and a 3d printer I would be making a good side hustle making these.

It definitely sucked in my opinion. See my other videos where I showed how and where I ordered my 3d printed solution.
I fitted one on my GT air 2 and it fell off had to stick it with sugru.
Pore effort from cardo 😔

I would have no way to know this, sorry.

I need one for the GT Air 3. Any luck finding a 3d printed version of that?
Nope. Sorry.
What’s the reason for not wanting to use the Sena system that is made for the helmet? Not being judgmental, just genuinely curious.

The Sean SRL is garbage. It has awful audio volume and Sean just ignore their customers . Please dont waste your money on it.

Sorry I do not. The guy that made this one moved his shop to Etsy. Not sure if he has created one.
A guy in the UK is producing one. Mine is on the way.
Anyone have the 3D file saved? Its no longer in the link.
