As a Japanese football fan, I appreciate this video because I was curious to know what foreign football fans think of Japanese football. You have done a lot of research on Japan, which was very positive. If I may add to this video, a German named Dettmar Cramer, the "father of Japanese soccer," is essential to the history of Japanese football. He came to Japan in 1960. He was so great that he later led Bayern to win the European Champion Club Cup (now called the UCL), but he came to a strange country where there was no football culture at that time and worked on technical instruction and establishing basic systems without becoming arrogant at all. In fact, the JSL mentioned in the video was also founded at the suggestion of that German. He was a bit foul-mouthed, but that was also evidence that he was serious about his work for Japan. It is no exaggeration to say that if he had not come to Japan at that time, the development of Japanese football would have been delayed by several decades. He changed Japanese football long before young fans like us were born, but I mention him here because he is still spoken of. Another addition would be Yasuhiko Okudera, a pioneer Japanese who played in Europe. He moved to Germany when everyone else was still playing in the domestic JSL and was a key player for 1. FC Köln, which won the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal. He was also a player who scored a goal and assist in the semifinals of the Champions Cup. I told you this because it is an interesting fact that there were geniuses in Japan when the soccer culture was still underdeveloped. There are still a few things I would like to share with foreign football fans. Proud that Captain Tsubasa is loved by so many legends. The match against Belgium was the best and worst match of my life. Moriyasu the coach has not achieved any of the results he set out to achieve since he took over, and that means he is viewed with a critical eye by fans, including myself. Also shoutout to what Japan did to win the 2011 wc. It was just the women, so you might not think it matters as much as the men, but it got a huge amount of attention in the country because it was right after the earthquake, and the captain was from one of the towns that got destroyed by the tsunami. It was a Cinderella story that caught national attention in Japan, and helped people get more invested in football. And even if it's just the women's team that won, Japan's dominance on the woman's side shows that the overall federation is investing in their programs.
I knew Japan would be solid. I grew there as a kid and played for an American team traveling the country playing Japanese teams. Some serious talent back then. So this is no surprise now. The practices that these players had, it was treated as a martial art.

In recent years their overall game is so much better and they have excellent strikers and game making players. We're all hoping that this rise to continue and eventually make our dreams come true.
This mostly due to break throughs in performance enhancing drugs. In Japan, they manufacture peptides that can boost natural production of growth hormone. This makes athletes faster and all around more athletic. Now Japan athletes who were sub par 30 years ago are just as good as Europeans.

Japan is getting better because it does everything it can - youth development, starting J League, publicity drives - to improve. Contrast this to England whose media and fans believe it is the world’s best, despite failure after failure in international competitions for the past 60 years.
Based on that last section, I guess you can say Japan fall trap to that anime hero situation. The underdog rises up to the occasion and takes down the favored and stronger opponent.
Because you can clearly see that in every sport the Japanese participate they approach it very technically (it is all about the technique of the sport )!And they are all very well conditioned, and do not give up that easily!
"Could they be the first nation outside of Europe and South America to lift the World Cup trophy?" Lemme try to answer that question. First it is hard for ANY NATION to win the world cup. If football continues to grow in developing countries we could see more countries outside of Europe and South America start to dominated in the next few decades. Yes, Japan is already an example of that. Japan play very well football and are the BEST in Asia alongside South Korea. They already beat TWO giants in the 2022 world cup and almost beat Croatia, another wc giant. Im Guessing Japan could reach the quarter-finals more often in the next few decades and start to near the semi-finals. They have already beaten some of Europes best but If they could beat more giants like France, Portugal and Brazil then I would say they are a TOP CONTENDER. But they really have a pretty high potential. Japan MAY become the first nation outside of Europe and South America to lift the trophy- if it ever happens. But really- the 2022 wc brought some shocks involving Morocco, Cameroon, Saudi Arabia, Japan, South Korea, and the USA. All those countries mentioned above played better than expected and were able to BEAT or DRAW against giants such as Brazil, Portugal and Argentina. Beware for the 2026 WC- Who knows what these unprecendented nations INCLUDING JAPAN may bring. There could be MASSIVE upsets pulled + there will be 16 EXTRA NATIONS in the 2026 world cup and most will be from Africa and Asia and since its being hosted in North America 3 biggest countries, the smaller nations in North, Central America and the Carribean could also get a slot to the biggest and most beautiful stage in history. Im already excited. Lets go Japan!

Nobody wanna see a trash team video
Nah I was going crazy during the world cup calling it project blue lock cuz the team was performing so good
Japan is getting better because it does everything it can - youth development, starting J League, publicity drives - to improve. Contrast this to England whose media and fans believe it is the world’s best, despite failure after failure in international competitions for the past 60 years.
can u do a video like this but for the usmnt new golden generation
Japan generally valuse discipline and you can not only see this in football but other sports they play.

The korean team is globally respected by other footballing nations japan and cheena suck!

Based on that last section, I guess you can say Japan fall trap to that anime hero situation. The underdog rises up to the occasion and takes down the favored and stronger opponent.
Now their next step should be winning the round of 16.
The Bleach music in the background is a smart touch. It's a version of the track that plays during the recap at the beginning of a new episode.
What that a Bleach ost at 0:28?
they have the power of anime behind them.

Siuu first👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 people who watch bluelock 😈
Blue Lock goated
I wish we would have had a similar system in the United States, but our country just sees money making opportunities.
Always saw Japan as an underdog and i always cheer for them. Im a Mexico fan since 1998 world cup.
Short answer: Zico.
Long answer: Brazil.
LOOL
Yo man make the rise of feimpong or wortz they both deserve it
The manga story arc of winning as the underdog runs in the veins of the players. You can’t change that 😅
I love japan from India
for hulk, JLeague is his stepping stone before going to Europe
Project bluelock is real!!!!!
Definitely is
@@Nabhuto omg you replied!
Because you can clearly see that in every sport the Japanese participate they approach it very technically (it is all about the technique of the sport )!And they are all very well conditioned, and do not give up that easily!
Recommendation: What happened to Brazil?
I agree Japan does great being the underdog just like they were in WW2😂
the only japan remaining problem is good coaches with tactical skill
Moriyasu Hajime is good but he just messed up with calling up suzuki instead of gonda
and a #9
Nah moriyasu is Japanese Southgate@@wataruendo_goat

Japan needs player like Keisuke Honda! Play with confidence and coolness.
There is a lot to be said about the grassroots or the youth development in Japan. Wish you done research on that!

Video game series Winning Eleven aka Pro Evolution Soccer played a massive role in promoting football in Japan.
17:20 Did I hear Japan being the favorites against Belgium?!???!!
They had Hazard, De Bruyne, Lukaku, Courtois, and ended up winning bronze at the World Cup that year bruv.
