This game was the top notch game for Genesis and probably even better(technically) than any Snes game at the time, it required a lot of time to be developed and the main problem is that it has been released in 1995 when PS was out and megadrive already dead(this means publishers didn't invest money to have better votes by magazines... ). The game is hard but fulfilling and the boss mechanics very various. Castlevania SoN, dark Souls and many modern metroidvania games are clearly inspired by the boss design and mechanics of this game...
I always wondered who taught Captain Falcon his famous *_"Falcon" Punch_*, and Fox his *_Fire "Fox"_*. Now I know that it was Epsilon Eagle, master of the "Phoenix Force". :D

Seven force is so annoying it's the worst in the game I don't like the fight for this boss it's so broken and long the green and the last water form is the worst fight is unfair.
I finished it on Sega genesis first time when it come out, import ntsc version, very expensive. It was a shock to me, amazing graphic and great gameplay with very high difficult also for young a player of the 16 bit generation skilled by contrast hard corps/probotector, dynamite headdy and other difficult games.

Treasure's games on the Mega Drive were insanely polished in visual, audio, and gameplay fidelity. Always had a lot of stuff we take for granted in modern games, like this level of smooth animation, equalized audio mixing (Dynamite Headdy being a big example when it comes to playing voice clips, like the secret bonus point one), short pauses for bigger impacts, well telegraphed indicators, and tons more.
I'm trying to make a game that has a similar animation to the horse boss and I'm in awe of the technical execution involved with synchronizing this horse's run cycle.
@@mtnnoonanEverything is sprites except the body/rider and tail, which are on plane B. A small part of the back of the body gets overwritten by the tail animation tiles. The fact that the tail animation doesn't use the body tiles as part of it suggests the tail was originally intended to be a sprite

I like how in the title it says no hit instead of no damage because yes it is true that he didn’t take hits but doing that big fireball attack (teleporting at full health) deals damage

If something is mandatory and not doing it causes unavoidable damage in a game, you have to switch the title from “no damage” to “no hit” to clear any possible confusion up. It has, among other things, enemies that look like feces with faces and feet, knockoffs of the Robot from Lost in Space, and, of all things, a blue, anthropomorphic teddy bear that sadly gets killed in the crossfire of the protagonist's battle against an army of killer mutant monsters and robots.
One of the best fights in the game by far! Especially intense on super hard because back stringer takes a lot longer to die, so the danger of your platform being completely dragged down by the baby spiders is super amplified... it's amazing

as far as i know, seven force is in gunstar heroes (also in the GBA sequel) and in Alien Soldier. It's also mentioned as a mechanic in Astro Boy: Omega Factor, also for GBA.

This game was released before it was completely finished. That’s why you never fight some of the bosses from the intro. Can’t really blame the developers since they were probably on a very tight schedule and the megadrive was already a last gen console by 1995. They still should’ve given it a physical release in the U.S though
I played this game well enough to know.. this is the megadrive version.. the genesis version the action was way faster.. still this is still a great game and seeing it again makes me want to play it again..
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the genesis and the mega drive were the same console, just named differently depending on where it was bought.
@@tgg1033 The Megadrive was running PAL 50hz while the genesis was NTSC at 60Hz all games on the genesis played faster.. i know this cause i had both systems.. although Pal looked better i always enjoyed the actioned at a faster pace especially the Sonic games..

Usually it involves multiple smaller sprites and what they do is have those sprites in different positions so it can be animated smoothly

If you look closely, every time the player uses the fire dash, he takes 50 damage. That's why this is not a "no-damage" run, but a "no-hit".
