In no way are we comparing Mainoo to Rooney. What we're pointing out is that 20 years later, an 18-year-old United player has the opportunity to use the Euros as his international breakthrough and that's a really exciting prospect.
Facts...imagine Kobbie Mainoo, Delcan Rice and Jude Bellingham bossing the midfield area in the euro that will be exciting. I really hope Southgate to stop his favoritsm in choosing players, I want him to stop selecting players who don't even start for their club like kalvin Philips and Henderson.
I like this kinda of videos from you. Like mini documentaries. Your voice is so comfortable and pleasant to hear in this type of videos. I can see myself sitting through an entire 1 hour video of this kind. Keep up the good work.
He got me watching him for the whole 90 against Netherlands in semis. ❤ now this video has its questions answered 🔥 he has become a key player in this tournament. And he has also been key player in United winning FA Cup.
Strength, Time, Vision, Technique. He doesn't smash the ball into the net, his foot asks the ball to travel at the correct speed and angle to beat the keeper.😂
I could be wrong but I feel He brought calm, coverage and composure to a dire manchester united situation n he just made everything clicked. Thats how mature he is. He is mature n intelligent enough to bring maturity n calmness to a team n made us clicked.
If your good enough than your old enough & Mainoo has certainly proved he's more than good enough to be part of England squad for the Euros. Mainoo plays well beyond his years & brings something no one else does & that is calmness & composure
Mainoo is the missing piece in our midfield area, we're talking about a reliable defensive midfielder who can control the game, both offence and defence a box to box midfielder. We had a high hope when we signed casemiro but due to injury and age he doesn't play like we want and need him to, but unexpectedly kobbie Mainoo came out of the youth team and he showed us that he's the one. Thank God we don't have to spend huge amount for CDM because of Mainoo presence.
Maino is an 8, he can play from deep and bring the ball forward whilst being press resistant. However he's also getting into forwards areas of the pitch using his silky smooth dribbling and quick interchanges to break defences and he's proven to have a smart finish on him as well. Definitely an 8 but yes he's very capable in a 6 role, I'd prefer to sign a cdm behind him.
Bot to Box. He is not the missing piece. He can be the start of what we could of had with FDJ. We still need an "orchestrator" (Busquets type) and we can see the last 3-4 matches of the season how it worked pretty well with Amrabat having found his feet. Frees up Mainoo. Our creative midfielder making mistakes becomes less costly on transition
Every time there's a united game I wake up in the morning all excited just to see how Mainoo does. he's always a positive player. He doesn't pass back he looks for opportunities and cut through passes that slice open the opposition midfield.
I hope that United always has a coaching team that will make sure that Kobbie stays humble and not tempted by the celebrity lifestyle of modern footballers
His link from rice and the defence against that belgium midfiled could be the key england needs. Calm in tight areas, didn't lose the ball, had england playing through the middle which is something they have done for a long time. England have typically gone over the top or wide, with bellingham, kane being picked up into feet with runners beyond could have england playing in a total different way.
Bruno is garbage, I’m glad Mainoo has come through as he has shown what it takes to be a Man Utd player. For far too long our fan base was blinded by G/A and meaningless stats by the stat pad lovers.
It's not about being in the same position. It's about mentality and composure. Bruno is the most erratic player I've seen at United run close by Nani and Bruno is our captain smh.
I just watched England vs Netherlands and I had to look him up. He plays like Modric and I must say that is the most precious thing to have in your midfield. He keeps the ball, makes accurate progressive passes and can run a game. all at the ripe old age of 19. Barring any injury, this kid will be a superstar
Last season, I was so frustrated with the owners issue that I took a break from football altogether. Now that I've come back to watch the sport I love so much, I can now see that this lad is sensational.
Mainoo at the year of 18, first senior English team debut and got the Man of the match. It is a dream of every English football player. To me, as a MU fans , I am really happy. Thanks to MU bring this little man out.
What I saw during that England game vs Belgium was something I’ve never seen before from England. That midfield is abbbsooolluuteeellyy RIDICULOUS with Mainoo, Ricr, Bellingham and Foden. There was very high IQ, technical ability and winning mentality there. I can see them win the EUROS/WC soon. This is a different England
Shaw kane saka walker stones were all virtually absent and they all start instead of the guys who made mistakes during the game. Should easily get to another final, only France are as good if not better

Early days i know, to be comparing Mainoo with our very best, but that is his future standard. One his quite capable of attaining. He looks like the perfect ingredient for England's midfield.

His performance vs Liverpool is when he really announced himself. He cooked their defense and midfield over and over and over. He's solid in defense and can pass and protects the ball well but his dribbling and awareness 😱😱. In the final third, this man is a menace and we can already see he has the composure and quality to score goals. We need to find players that challenge him for his spot but also (more importantly) complement him and give him freedom to roam forward because what we have here is potentially a generational talent if he can stay focused and fit.
I 100% agree with this video, mate 👌🏼. Mainoo is composed. Amazing balance on the ball. Very strategic. Has the hindsight to think ahead, not just defensively but as we've seen against wolves and especially liverpool, he's able to change the game in his favor. All the pressure can not and should not be on his shoulders too early, as I feel he requires more room and time to grow, but he most definitely deserves a spot in the England national team 💪🏼
Rooney is a great example for young players. Every Manchester United young player should be compelled to watch the You Tube video of all Rooney`s goals this would show them the intelligence, observational powers and the clinical effectiveness of turning awareness into cool instantaneous action. The young players should have to write out an explanation of what they have seen for every goal. reinforcing the message Clinical efficiency relies mainly on having the observational ability to pick the right space to be in and to pick the correct spot to pass to ball in. No one displays this better than Wayne Rooney.
