That scene was perfectly acted. The actors didn't know Geoffrey Rush was returning and that was their legitimate reactions to him on set

It feels like Johnny Depp was born to play this role of Jack Sparrow. He does it so well.
So well when he sang his “Jar of Dirt” song Orlando Bloom got confused because it wasn’t in the script. Same goes for when Barbosa came back, genuine reactions.

The shot of the damaged ship that Will Turner is sent to just before meeting Davy Jones was taken some time after the scene where the kraken destroys another ship. The reason was so that the same ship could be used to posed as the damaged one.

In the next 3 remaining pirates movies, you should include the reaction of the after credits.
Especially when we get to the 5th pirates movie.

And btw, dead man's chests after credits is the dog surviving and becoming the leader of the islanders.

Bill Nighy's face, in order to play Davy Jones, was computer-generated of course. The actor had to wear a specially made outfit, with dots strategically placed, to give computers reference points to go by.
The body was similarly outfitted for the same purpose.

I think that Davy Jones is still one the most realistic looking cgi characters.
Fun Fact: Johnny falling down the stairs wasn't part of the script, he genuinely fell down.
Everyone's reactions to that was genuine. 😂
But that take was so funny they put it in the film.
Jumping in water from that height can break bones.
She said "where is this, New Zealand?" And I thought, I don't think she understands meaning behind Pirates of the CARIBBEAN

Try Swashbuckler (1976) with Robert Shaw and Peter Boyle, and The Crimson Pirate (1952) with Burt Lancaster. Neither are fantasies, but both are excellent lighthearted adventures I think you'd like.

Dacy and his crew are not costumes or make up at all. They are wearing cgi suits (i think that what's they are called) similar to James Cameron's Avatar film.
