    Ecology student here, the effects of the onions could be a result of nutrient loss in our food. Fun fact; most of our food, particularly vegetables, have reduced in nutrient density dramatically over the last decades. It is also an effect that is increasing over time. Most of our vegetables have less than 50% of their historic nutrient content , some as much as a 90% reduction. It’s one of the single greatest problems of our time, and the extent of it is largely completely unknown by the general public.
    Love the vlogs! I can’t wait to get back to Sweden one day soon, and visit the north again!

    Matti this is just a thought, but have considered using powdered full fat milk instead of the cream? I think using the powder in a higher concentration would give a similar result in the final dish. Save you a lot of weight also, and potentially a mess if the carton explodes in your bag 👍 It was interesting to see how you prepare for a hike, thanks for the video.😊

    Regarding your question about onions, did you use to wear glasses when they made you cry back in the day?
    I don't cry from cutting onions when I wear my contact lenses, but whenever I'm not wearing them i cry so much you would think I was heartbroken or something.

    • @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA

    • @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA

      It’s expensive and several of the brands add stuff that makes it resistant to heat, air, so it solves easily with water and all that chemicals…

    My energy snacks when hiking consist of a 5oz squeeze tube with bite valve - containing 50% Brown Rice Syrup, 30% Molasses, & 20% Honey - all "natural" sugars.
    Pre-cooked BACON - bacon anytime, any place, anywhere + I carry 1oz foil packs of peanut butter for the fat.
    My meals normally are store bought Peak Refuel brand of freeze dried meals.

    Hej Matti! Tack för en mycket trevlig kanal! Jag undrar hur mycket vatten tillsätter du när du har torkat köttfärssås?

    • @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA
      @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      En jättebra fråga! Jag kör på känn. Ofta sätter jag till lite eftersom. Ibland vill jag ju att det ska bli lite mer soppigt. Man behöver ju ofta vätska så personligen föredrar jag lite blötare.
      Ju längre det får dra sig eller ju mer man småkokar allt, desto mer vatten absorberar den också.
      Hoppas mitt luddiga svar gav dig nått iallafall. 🙄

    Thank you for this explanation! But how do you prepare the food in the field? Do you need a lot of water and maybe gas to prepare it?

    • @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA
      @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I forgot that part in the video… ;-)
      You can make it in different ways. Some have a waterproof thing where they can store it in water during the day while hiking.
      I prefer to add warm water on it when I arrive to next camp. It’s just good if it can soak water during one hour or something. If there isn’t time for that I keep it warm for 20 min or something. Heat it up, put it away and reheat it etc.
      I usually prefer to make it more like a soup so I usually add water several times. If I add everything directly it will be to much or to little.
      I’m not the guy who follows recipes… I just make it.
      😃
      But it’s really good to give it some time to soak water!
      I hope I answered some of your questions.
