I’ve had my FNP-9 since 2009. I’ve always liked it. It’s a shame mags aren’t made any longer even aftermarket. Not sure if FN even supports it any longer? At any rate it’s on my night stand because I know it, I have 17 rounds in a gun a bit bigger than a G19 and I like DA/SA. That all said, my P07 is as good with more features and benefits.

    • @LibertiesDefender

I had no idea they stopped making mags for it. That's kind of crazy. That CZ is a nice pistoI I really enjoy shooting my sp-01, it's just a little large for carry. that P07 thu. nicel@@AMXSShirt

@@SuburbanPrepper1776 I wanted one REAL BAD to be my CC!!! I LIKE my FNS 9mmBUTT they abandon models with NO support and $60 mags!!!
I hope the REFLEX does better... FEELS GOOD in hand...
      1. I wanted an S&W CSX as soon as it came out BUT everyone hated it so I didn;t!!!
An all metal 19 0z gun w/ 12 rounds and a HAMMER.... YEP... But it was SO hated on Y/T....
      2. Stayed off the SIG 4 EVER... I watched ALL their problems and kept my Ruger LC9S
      3. Bought a BERETTA 92X compact... Just too heavy for my JOB which frowns on CARRY...
My carry 4 MY job situation
      1. Must be small with a Manual safety
      2.Light weight
      3. Able to mount a Light/Laser (Sig tricked me here with the SIGRAIL!)
      4. RELIABLE with +p+ capability... I want a 9mm with 1 shot stop and I have a bunch of that ammo
      5. Accurate
      6. Be finished well because I must carry "OFF BODY" in a "work bag Pouch" that other co workers may pick up and sling the Bag around
      7. Be Red Dot Ready in case my 54y/o fudd ass decides to come out da cave !!!
I went into Academy Sports not planning AT ALL to buy a Gun after 2 overtime weeks on 1 check.
I went there to buy ammo for my 22 and 357 but there were 2 associates with NO CUSTOMERS there so I decided to "Windar Shop"!
I looked at the Canik Mc9 first, The Ruger Maxx 9 second, The S&W Equalizer and the SHIELD PLUS ....
Then I saw the SIG P365X WITH OPTIC READY,MANUAL SAFETY, NIGHT SIGHTS and RAIL (POS SIG PROPRIETARY but I was ignorant then)...
      I SAID "BAG IT UP"!!!!

Bought a reflex for my daughter. She is petite in size with quite small hands. We shoot a lot on our private range in Texas. She is an avid hunter & shoots full size pistols of varying calibers. The reflex seemed like a good choice for cc. The trigger is a short length of pull & fit her hands well. Trigger is quite nice, better than my upgraded p365. We now have the reflex up for sale due to fail to feed from “limp wristing”
This gun has a lot of snap & was impossible for my daughter to cycle a complete mag. Put the p365xl in her hand & it cycled flawless. I am not trying to discount FN nor promote Sig. Just saying buyer beware as I don’t see this reflex as a good weak handed firearm. Good luck!

If its failing to feed and acting like the rim is catching on the slide theres a bit of metal that doesn't need to be there that could be hanging up the rounds mine wouldn't cycle a full mag when I got it same falure to feed each time a few licks with a file and it's my favorite gun .........other than the factory sights

Go to a well stocked gun store or gun show.
Pick each one up that looks like your idea of what your constant companion should look like.
You will know when it fits YOUR unique hand
      “Like A Glove”
This is the major consideration, but certainly not the only one.
Listen discernfully to some knowledgeable voices, as many as you see fit. (or can stand)
If possible, rent one and shoot at a gun range.
If I’m there, I’m glad to let you put a box full through one of mine.. free.

The point of the smaller mags is printing. I personally have the Hellcat, but thinking about also getting the Reflex because I'm an FN fanboy. Depending on how you carry, the 15 rnd mags print way more. The pinky extensions don't make a huge difference, because it's the back side of the grip that prints. In my Hellcat, I carry with the 11 rnd with pinky extension, and 15 round spare

I've had 3 Reflexes (Long story) and all of them had problems. I bought them to replace my G43s. I love the Reflex grip, I love the sights, I love the size, and the trigger is pretty good from the factory. All of them had failure to feed problems. One would have a soft strike about every 3rd round. We tried 5 different types of ammo - Federal, Winchester, Remington and Blazer in both 115 and 124 grain. I had already bought extra magazines, so we had 9 different magazines to try. We put about 300 rounds through each gun. All of them would shoot low left no matter who was shooting it. I put Holosun 507k red dots on 2 of them and I had the elevation up maxed out and it still wouldn't bring the POI up to POA. I put a laser bore sight cartridge in them and it would not line up with the iron sights. It showed low left on all of them. The same laser bore sight lined up perfectly in all of my other handguns. I sold 2 of them and I sent the 3rd one to FN, in hopes that I could at least have one good one. After about 3 months, I got the Reflex back from FN with literally nothing in the box explaining what was wrong nor what they repaired. No shot group target like I've seen other people get back with their Reflex from FN. Nothing at all. The gun had the exact same problems as before I sent it to FN for repair. They fixed nothing. Having owned and shot other FN guns, I was extremely disappointed, not only with the Reflex, but with the customer service at FN. I've watched a lot of videos from people having the same problems with the Reflex and FN is sending all of their guns back with a 3 shot group target and a statement saying there's nothing wrong with their gun. I think the first batch of Reflexes were a good run and those were sent to influencers for review. The following batches have serious quality control issues and FN has taken a stance of zero accountability. We sold the last Reflex about a week ago.

I've had one failure to fire in 500 rds. Multiple failure to feed issues, and it consistently shoots left. All of my feeding issues have been corrected, with many very thorough cleanings, and realizing I was limp writing shots. It didn't help I had elbow surgery 5 weeks before shooting it. Purchased a Shield rmsc because I'm cool like that. In all seriousness, it shoots well now. I do agree that some QC over at FN was lacking on this one.

Love the humor. Blake's added commentary made me laugh. By the way, that is not the finish that has a problem. It is just dirt coming off on the finish. The slide is VPN treated on the FDE models. That means it is bonded at the atomic level. It should not wear after any amount of use, so they say. Also, I can't think of any other handgun review where a 70 yard first strike was made, and from a subcompact. Bravo.

When the Reflex first came out I REALLY wanted the FDE MRD model but they were always out of stock. Then I started hearing everyone say that the FDE finish was terrible. By the time they were back in stock I bought the Reflex MRD in black and the finish is really nice. Apparently the bad finish is only on the FDE version

Excellent review Chad, and fun to watch🤣 and I agree with your trigger, slide operation and accuracy assesment. I purchased the MRD version of the Reflex 2 months ago and have put about 600 rds through it. I experienced a few failures to fully chamber the round during the first 50 or so as you did, but I believe it's just a 'wear in' issue. It's run great for the last 500 and I carry it daily. This is my first optic ready pistol and I'm quite a bit slower aquiring the optic vs the sights on my first shot. Got and pointers? (besides practice, practice, practice...)

I'm not a large man at only 6'1, but I have large hands. I've tried 43, 43x, 365 etc. The 19 slim(48), with shield arms mags, has the smallest grip I seem to be ok with. Not a fan of pinky extensions or mag extensions to fill a grip. I'll keep looking, but the 19 sized guns are the best trade offs currently.

My oldest boy and I were looking for new CCWs at the gun show a few weeks ago. There were three pistols I wanted to check out and the Reflex was one of them. I am ready to shoot the Reflex and see if I "need" one of those as well. Haha

Chadd, since you like that Hellcat Pro, TRY THIS: I took a XDm back strap, sanded down, filled and JB welded that biatch on. I used the thinnest of the three, full length grip. Masked everything off. Used zip ties to hold tight til cured. Made sure it's where I want it. Matching the bottom ledge. It's permanent.
    Experiment first by temporary means.
Making that grip flat backed was mistake, IMO. This provides needed swell that puts pressure on my grip side palm that was lacking. Now I don't have to grip it to death, and it points better.
Also, the trigger. Harsh after a few hundred for me. First one I've bothered replacing. MCarbo full chooch striker option. Relatively high. But NOW it's the perfect carry I wanted it to be.

Its been a pretty reliable and accurate lil pistol for a compaq. But my full suze go to pistol is my Canik TP9 Elite combat. Comes with a fluted threaded barrel, aluminum flat faced trigger which is a amazing trigger with a super short reset. Then next my gen 2 glock 22 . She runs like a champ. Amazingly reliable pistol

It's easier to rack the slide initially but you still have to pull hard enough near the end of the pull travel to pull that hammer down. So I'm not sure if I would say it's easier to rack than other striker fire pistols.

I switch between the Reflex and the 43x for my daily carry gun. I think there's a little bit of a break-in period for the Reflex. Run a few hundred rounds through it and you'll be pleased with the result. Lately I've been running my 509T at the range, and it's become my favorite. Just have to take the trigger and striker assemblies apart and polish every piece.

I carry full-size guns, period. 509T, 510T, FNX45T, P220 Legion SAO 10mm. The finish on all of them is worn, as they should be. My wife runs a P365XL, which I like better than the Hellcat Pro myself, but not sure I could ever carry a micro-compact as my hands are just too dang large for those little guns man. To each their own but I just modify my carry methods so I can have the gun I’m comfortable with on me at all times. I love FN, HK, Beretta, Sig, and a half dozen other manufacturers far better than Glock. I understand that you like Glocks to a fault, I just don’t understand why. I’ve tried, I promise. I appreciate most of your content regardless dude. Keep it up.

The failure to feed issue is caused from the extractor being too tight. If you send it back to FN, they will replace it. Shooting low left is usually user error, however there are so many owners reporting this that it makes me wonder what’s really going on. I’ve never heard of someone having to cant the weapon in order to hit the target.

I'm curious -- when you move the pistol in front of your face from your left to right, why do you raise it above your forehead in a rainbow-shaped motion? Is there a specific safety reason for that?
