This morning my 3 year old son wanted cereal. I wanted to give him some...but, I wanted for him to finish what was on his plate first before I gave him his cereal. He thought this was horrible and got angry with me....This is similar to what I see happening with God. Throughout scripture, God has purposely destroyed people...(in Luke 17 Jesus confirms this). Soooo...does that mean that God doesn't will for us to be saved and made whole? NO!!! That's the same silly reasoning my son had! Just because God allows and even causes destruction doesn't mean it's not for the purpose of ultimate salvation and restoration!!! Oftentimes, destruction is the very MEANS of salvation!!! "you are to deliver this man to Satan for the *destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be *saved in the day of the Lord." - 1 Corinthians 5:5 "For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead, that *though *judged in the *flesh the way people are, they might *live in the spirit the way God does." - 1 Peter 4:6.....He wounds but heals. (Job5:18)He tore us to pieces, but will bandage us. (Hos6:1)He kills and makes alive. (Deut32:39)Though He sleighs us, we will trust Him! (Job13:15)The people the Lord "scourges" (whips) are the SAME PEOPLE He calls SONS!!!(Heb12:6)...At the end of the day, we aren't left blaming God for our issues… rather we are left looking into the eyes of the only one who could ever solve them!! At the end of the day, we rejoice in ALL THINGS knowing that he is a Good Good Father and that He will never *ever let us down!!!

Also “Adonai asked the Adversary, “Did you notice my servant Iyov, that there’s no one like him on earth, a blameless and upright man who fears God and shuns evil?” The Adversary answered Adonai, “Is it for nothing that Iyov fears God? You’ve put a protective hedge around him, his house and everything he has. You’ve prospered his work, and his livestock are spread out all over the land. Adonai asked the Adversary, “Did you notice my servant Iyov, that there’s no one like him on earth, a blameless and upright man who fears God and shuns evil, and that he still holds on to his integrity, even though you provoked me against him to destroy him for no reason?” But he answered her, “You’re talking like a low-class woman! Are we to receive the good at God’s hands but reject the bad?” In all this Iyov did not say one sinful word.

That doesn’t prove it’s God’s will to kill that person. The devil can’t kill unless God allows it, so the enemy has to find a way to legally go after you without God being able to stop it. So God being the judge of the earth must allow this to happen due to how the law works. God can’t disobey His word. There are generational curses, sins, inequities, curses, judgements, unforgiveness, and all types of evil that give the enemy an inroad to a persons life. That is not ordained by God but allowed due to free will.

Perhaps I can help.... in the original Hebrew, God says, "Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person." What God was saying was "Go ahead, he's under your authority anyway.". If you remember, man had all authority on earth until Adam fell. Adam gave away his power to subdue the earth to satan. So satan already had the ability to strike Job. If you read verse 11 satan tries to get God to strike Job. God hilariously not only puts it back on satan, but then places a condition on him (i.e. but don't touch his person) and satan obeys. LOL! So the reality is God didn't "give" satan permission, satan had permission all along. Even Job misunderstands thinking he must have done something to deserve it, yet doesn't curse God.
For a very long time the church has misunderstood what really happened here. God never "allowed" satan to strike Job. Satan is the accuser of the brethren. He not only accuses men to God, but also accuses God to men.
    Hope that makes sense.

She didn’t have the visible image of the invisible God in Christ to observe. So the question NOW is do you see that in Christ?

Think about it...what greater strategy of the Devil could there ever be then to convince Christians that any death, loss, and destruction that happens to them and those they have loved was the will of God. How could we ever do the works of Jesus, that is, to partner with him to destroy the works of the devil if we are unsure what the works of the enemy are? Or how could we ever pray with 100% faith for healing and restoration if in the very back of our thoughts we might think God is causing this sickness for some reason? Answer is, we can't. So let's do as Dan says, let's get the knowledge and stop the destruction! This would include the destruction of us not experiencing God's incredible and powerful love because of the lies we have believed. God is love and love doesn't have twisted motives. :) Let's make our eye single, no more double vision!

If I kill my bro I fulfill the will of God? What's the purpose of life? To get lucky and be one God likes? No he loves us all. I hope for truth for all of us because to think that God ordains the evil of this world is nearly an unbearable life. God is good and works all things for the good. Two issues I see when people believe that is 1) they will be tempted to blame the works of the devil on God. The entirety of Reformed/Calvinist theology makes God The author of all evil therefore making no distinction between a good and holy God and the lying, deceiving, murdering Enemy.
      2) They are no longer obedient in praying in faith. They just give faithless blanket prayers of wishful thinking with implied doubt "that God's will be done". The Lord Jesus commands us to declare God's promises and pray in faith for miracles and believe we will receive them before we even pray. When you're asking God to help you with something and then you defer to your will be done It is implying that you don't know God's will in that situation and therefore you could not be praying in faith. You shouldn't be praying at all yet if you don't know what God's will is. If you don't know that it is God's will to heal then you need to read your Bible and pray that God reveals Himself to you until you know that it is God's will to heal.

I believe God is in control of everything but not necessarily the cause of everything. If I lose a loved one, I wouldn't blame God for that, it would be shallow of me to think that, but as he is in control I can give that situation to him, to take my grief upon himself and heal my hurt. What does it matter how you look at it really, if your faith is strong, you will never question God, no matter what gets dealt to you. He's in control because he is the boss and there is nothing to argue about or suggest. He is sovereign.

    • @j4blaser

It matters greatly how you look at it because if you don’t know God’s will, you can’t pray Godly prayers. If you are duped into thinking that “God needed your son in Heaven” then why would you pray for healing? If you believe that lie, you’re missing a huge chunk of what Jesus freely gave to us on the cross! By His stripes we WERE healed! His will is perfect wholeness in mind body soul spirit.

The point of this text is that our words have the power to either edify or harm other people, and so we should be quick to hear and slow to speak.

And you actually think this text substantiates the erroneous positive confession doctrine? It does not. In fact, Eliphaz was dead wrong in his assessment of Job's character and the root cause of his sufferings. You can't build a doctrine on his statement, and he was only stating that God favors the plans and purposes of the righteous, and certainly only in accordance with His divine will. But this is not a "name it and claim it" passage, and certainly has nothing to do with "taking authority" over every aspect of human life, in Jesus name, etc., as if the spoken has the power to do whatever we want.

Even though God is behind creation, that doesn't mean that God is behind everything that happens within creation.
Since God has given us free will, we are capable of being creators in our own right; including creating suffering for ourselves and others.
This particular misunderstanding, that God is causing our suffering and perhaps punishing us, is one of the most dangerous misunderstanding promoted by religious teachers; for how can we become free from suffering if we don't understand what's causing it?
As long as we believe that lie, we will blame God or others, or our circumstances for our suffering and not see that we are responsible for our suffering.
Our mistaken thinking, and the negative emotions and negative actions that flow from our thoughts causes our suffering.
Depending on what we choose to believe, and how we choose to respond to life; we create more Love in the world or the opposite.
When we choose to express the opposite of Love or cause harm, it is not God that is at fault.
God gifted us with the freedom to choose and to create, and we eventually learn from our choices to be better creators; to create happiness instead of suffering, and it is suffering that teaches us this; suffering points us away from what is anti-life, anti-Love.
Our own personal suffering is the so-called "punishment" we receive when we make choices that are not aligned with Love; that is the only "punishment" meted out by God.
We are designed to suffer whenever we miss the mark, which is the meaning of sin. The mark, the target or goal, is Love; we suffer whenever we fall out of alignment with Love.
Suffering and joy are part of the guidance system we've been given; the homing device, which when followed, will bring us back home to Love.
Suffering tells us that we are believing a lie or taking a wrong direction; while joy tells us the opposite.
If we don't want to suffer, then we must stop believing or doing what causes us and others suffering; and start believing and doing what brings peace, Love and joy.

Lorna! Bless you! For your amazing!
When Jesus said that to her. He hadn't die yet. When he die, his blood took care of the sin in us. We can't be a sinner and saved at the same time, it doesn't work like that. A new covenant was established by Jesus of better promises for all who believe in him after he died and resurrected.
We have a sin habit, but we are dead to sin. We are the righteousness and holy children's of God. Is NOT that we can do what we want, or continue on sinning. And Grace is NOT a license to sin. But understanding our identity in Christ will help us to be rightness and only walk and produce a rightness lifestyle. If believers belive their are still sinners, they will produce a sinful lifestyle. But if they will just change their minds and let the Holy Spirit guide them, they will produce righteousness because is who they really are.. What did Paul say?
What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

So God doesn't ordain death? Yet in Psalm 139 it's recorded as God having numbered our days before we were born? Seems pretty ordained to me. It also says that the Lord is the One who Gives Life and takes it away, who puts in the grave and raises up from the grave (1 Sam 2:6). Perhaps the most evident of all is God Sovereignly choosing His elect for His Salvation (Romans 9; Ephesians 1:4; John 6:37-39;44; John 15:16)

    Chapter 3: Of God's Decree
1._____ God hath decreed in himself, from all eternity, by the most wise and holy counsel of his own will, freely and unchangeably, all things, whatsoever comes to pass; yet so as thereby is God neither the author of sin nor hath fellowship with any therein; nor is violence offered to the will of the creature, nor yet is the liberty or contingency of second causes taken away, but rather established; in which appears his wisdom in disposing all things, and power and faithfulness in accomplishing his decree.
    ( Isaiah 46:10; Ephesians 1:11; Hebrews 6:17; Romans 9:15, 18; James 1:13; 1 John 1:5; Acts 4:27, 28; John 19:11; Numbers 23:19; Ephesians 1:3-5 )
2._____ Although God knoweth whatsoever may or can come to pass, upon all supposed conditions, yet hath he not decreed anything, because he foresaw it as future, or as that which would come to pass upon such conditions.
    ( Acts 15:18; Romans 9:11, 13, 16, 18 )
3._____ By the decree of God, for the manifestation of his glory, some men and angels are predestinated, or foreordained to eternal life through Jesus Christ, to the praise of his glorious grace; others being left to act in their sin to their just condemnation, to the praise of his glorious justice.
    ( 1 Timothy 5:21; Matthew 25:34; Ephesians 1:5, 6; Romans 9:22, 23; Jude 4 )
4.______These angels and men thus predestinated and foreordained, are particularly and unchangeably designed, and their number so certain and definite, that it cannot be either increased or diminished.
    ( 2 Timothy 2:19; John 13:18 )
5._____ Those of mankind that are predestinated to life, God, before the foundation of the world was laid, according to his eternal and immutable purpose, and the secret counsel and good pleasure of his will, hath chosen in Christ unto everlasting glory, out of his mere free grace and love, without any other thing in the creature as a condition or cause moving him thereunto.
    ( Ephesians 1:4, 9, 11; Romans 8:30; 2 Timothy 1:9; 1 Thessalonians 5:9; Romans 9:13, 16; Ephesians 2:5, 12 )
6._____ As God hath appointed the elect unto glory, so he hath, by the eternal and most free purpose of his will, foreordained all the means thereunto; wherefore they who are elected, being fallen in Adam, are redeemed by Christ, are effectually called unto faith in Christ, by his Spirit working in due season, are justified, adopted, sanctified, and kept by his power through faith unto salvation; neither are any other redeemed by Christ, or effectually called, justified, adopted, sanctified, and saved, but the elect only.
    ( 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 5:9, 10; Romans 8:30; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Peter 1:5; John 10:26; John 17:9; John 6:64 )
7._____ The doctrine of the high mystery of predestination is to be handled with special prudence and care, that men attending the will of God revealed in his Word, and yielding obedience thereunto, may, from the certainty of their effectual vocation, be assured of their eternal election; so shall this doctrine afford matter of praise, reverence, and admiration of God, and of humility, diligence, and abundant consolation to all that sincerely obey the gospel.

There are many christian doctrines which explain that God predestines some people to go to heaven and some people to go to hell. These doctrines are greatly mistaken. God never predestines anyone to go to hell. God only 95% predestines that everyone will go to heaven. However, according to human 5% responsibility, meant to illustrate that man's responsibility, is quite small compared to God, represented as 95%, man himself decides and chooses wether he will go to heaven or hell.
We call these mistaken theories and doctrines, foolish theories, wrong theories, poison theories, and evil theories.

He does not predestend to hell , He lets the sinner remain in their sin. we all deserve hell. God in His gracious mercy saves some. Thats what makes it a gift, it is soley His choice.

@@dfischer1709 So what you are saying is that God decides ahead of time who is destined for Hell? If this were the case as a function of God's omniscience, to assert man has freewill would be a contradiction in terms. Also this would place God at the scene of every crime.
Let's look at what the Bible says:
      Bible verses emphasizing man's responsibility:
(Jn. 3:16) - Those who believe have eternal life
(Rom. 5:1) - By justification through faith, peace is produced with God.
(Eph. 2:8) - Through faith, you are saved. (You can receive salvation)
(Mt. 7:7) - Ask it will be given to you. Seek-you will find. Knock-the door will be opened.
(Rev. 3:20) - If you open the door I will come to you.
(Mk. 5:34) - Your faith has healed you.
(Jn. 9:11) - Washed eyes and could see.
(Jas. 5:15) - Prayer of faith can make the sick person well.
(Gen. 6:5-6) - God felt repentance, sorrow and grief because of man's evil.
(I Sam. 15:11) - God repented and grieved that he made Saul king.
(II Sam. 24:16) - God repented for punishing the people too much.
(Jnh. 3:10) - God repented of his intention to punish the people because they turned from their evil ways.
(Eze. 33:11-15) - God does not want to punish the wicked if they repent and change their evil ways.
(Ex. 3:7-8) - God has sympathy for the Israelites and wants to take them from Egypt to Canaan.
(Gen. 22:12) - He said, "Don't lay your hand on the boy! Don't do anything to him! For now I know that you are a man who fears God, because you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me."
(Jer. 19:5) - And they have built the high places of Baalim, to burn their children with fire for a holocaust to Baalim: which I did not command, nor speak of, neither did it once come into my mind.

    • @JustaSlaveofChrist
      @JustaSlaveofChrist 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@Itcanbegreat Always Scripture is very clear -- explicitly so, that God is sovereign. There is no doubt about this. Granted Mohler and White concede that God is sovereign in this video, but at the same time, they turn around and deny His sovereignty. It is as if they have no idea what the word means. To say God is sovereign is to say that nothing is outside of His control. He controls everything. Everything. Mohler and White make it a point to say God does not cause all the terrible natural disasters in the world. Really? The simple fact that He caused a global flood that killed off the entire population of the planet save eight people demonstrates that He is fully capable of doing this. If He can flood the planet, then a tornado, flood, hurricane or earthquake would be nothing comparatively speaking. In Isaiah 45:7 God states, "I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things."
Note that He does not say, "I do some of these things" but rather that He does "ALL" of these things. Read the Old Testament. Time and time again God wipes out huge amounts of people. Sometimes He does this as punishment. Sometimes He does this to prevent something worse from happening. At the end of the day, however, it is God who does these things, and He does them according to His good and perfect plan, and always for His glory. As Romans 9:22-23 states, "What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory?" Some people ("vessels") are simply prepared for destruction. We may not like it, we may not understand it, but who are we to question the Creator of the universe? (Romans 9:20; Job 38). We are in no position to call God on the carpet for anything, much less something like this.
When Todd White says God is sovereign, but God is not in control, is a self-refuting statement. He claims no where does the Bible say God is in control. He claims that saying God is in control is not scriptural. This is blasphemy! Of course God is in control, because God is sovereign! Proverbs 16:9 "A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps." You can make all the plans you want, but you will do NOTHING unless the Lord God Almighty allows it, controls it, and ordains it. Psalm 115:3, "But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases." He does WHATEVER He pleases! No one controls God! God is in absolute sovereign control! Todd White either doesn't know what he is talking about, or he is intentionally leading people astray.
When White and Mohler claim that God is not in control over everything, and that man is in control over some things, what they are saying is that God, in some things, is subservient to man. That man is greater than God in some things. And isn't this the very lie that the devil told to Eve back in Genesis 3:5 when he convinced her to eat the fruit and she would "be like God"? Same lie, same origin of that lie.
White goes on to talk about when people die an early death, and, what? What a minute...Job 14:5; Psalm 39:4-13; Psalm 139:16, and more, all of our days are numbers, they are allotted to us before the foundation of the world. No one is allowed to live beyond the number of days God has ordained for each person. There is no such thing as a premature birth or an unexpected pregnancy. There is no such thing as an early or premature death. Not according to God. Maybe in Todd White's mind, but not according to God.
I could go on and on pointing out each and every false teaching in this brief 10 minute video, and there are a lot of them. But I think you get the point. These two men are false teachers. They are wolves in sheep's clothing. They either have no idea what the Bible says, or they are intentionally leading people away from God and as close to the gates of hell as they can. Either way, they should be marked out and avoided (Romans 16:17-18).

You will know them by their fruits. Every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. So let's look at Dan's fruit.
He's brought many (MANY) into a real relationship with Jesus. Many, like myself, were wedded to doctrine and scripture, with no real relationship to speak of. A true pharisee I was. I knew all the answers, but I didn't really know Him.
After listening to Dan, my relationship with the Father, the Holy Spirit and Jesus has blossomed like a garden, and as a result, my love for God and others has exploded off the charts, and I represent Jesus well to others. Before I didn't. Before I could quote the Bible left and right for every situation, but there was no love in it, no desire to see people reconciled back to the Father. I won battles, but I was losing the opportunities for the good works that God had prepared in advance for me.
That's Dan's fruit: teaching people how to relate to the Father. And there is A LOT of fruit. The effectiveness of his ministry without an appeal for money or fame bears out that God has appointed him to this work.
In the end, this is certainly no hill to die on. Dan doesn't speak against the fundamentals of our faith, but encourages us toward them. You don't have to agree with everything he says, but be careful that you're not speaking against someone that God is clearly working through.

@@12centuries God worked through Jeroboam son of Nebat. According to you we should not speak against him either then. Yet he was not only an idolator, but he plunged the all of the Northern Kingdom of Israel into idolatry. Would you tolerate that as well? Dan Mohler is saying that God is not in control, that God is not sovereign. That is akin to saying God is not God, but some kind of lesser being who is not in control of the universe He created, and that is blasphemy. I cannot help but speak out when someone blasphemes my Lord, and so I will continue to speak out against people like Dan Mohler and Todd White.

If you know God and you have come to a point where you trust God, with all your heart, would you really blame Him for the stuff Todd is talking about? It sounds simplistic to me. God has a plan and Satan has a part to play in it. Everything is ordained by God according to His will and purpose for the redemption of mankind. All things, good and evil will funnel into a finite point, culminating in an endpoint that God predestinated.
God created us, built the doors for us to walk through and the paths for us to walk down and He gave us free will, to choose, we all know this. God created all things and has control over all things, both good and evil.
We can know God but we do not know everything about God and there is a mystery that is God.

I love this it really reframes our thinking on God but I do have to say that there are times when God does destroy things in our lives and actually kills people like in the book of revelation and the old testament but its all for a reason. When it comes to like your mom dying of some disease, that's tragic and totally not God so I definitely agree with Dan and Todd just wanted to point out that sometimes Jesus does destroy and kill but always with a purpose and a plan he is Sovereign and gracious, God is motivated by Love. Some scripture on this is Romans 6:6 ( Destruction of body of sin) and Revelation 19:21 (Death of those that made war against Jesus at his coming) So yea destruction and killing both by God in different instances I'm definitely praying about this and asking Jesus for more revelation on this topic but I agree mostly with Dan and Todd on this.

+MadeToLove I am trying to see what you are saying, but I think you are profoundly mistaken. There is no such thing as "well, that was the Old Testament, so it doesn't apply to us." The Bible as a whole is intended for believers. In fact, we cannot properly understand the New Testament if we do not know the OT. It is ALL God's Word (I also do not shout, just emphasis). In 2nd Tim 3:16 it says "All scripture is inspired [breathed out] by God and is profitable for correction, teaching, reproof and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be equipped for every good work." The thing is, Paul wrote that to Timothy before the whole New Testament was even finished. But the church did have the OT and Paul encouraged them to use it in order to understand God.
Also, consider the fact that in Acts it says over and over again how Paul would go to the Synagogue of the Jews and reason from Scripture to convince them God's message has always been that righteousness comes by faith and that the Messiah had to suffer and die. He used the OT to speak of the Gospel. Therefore the OT is accurate and reveals the truth about God and His character.
Another thing, yes, through Jesus there is a new covenant between man and God, but there are still teachings in the OT that are utterly crucial for us to understand as we approach God through Christ. For instance, God's hatred of sin, and the elaborate ceremonial system described in the OT is for us NT believers to see God's perfect holiness and His attitude toward sin. It's there to show us that we really do need a Saviour. But then there are commandments that we need to follow even today. Such as, "you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart soul mind and strength." Was that not one of the commandments of old? Yes. Can we do it in our own strength? No, but in Christ we can and should be obeying that commandment. So in short, we cannot simply dismiss the commandments of Moses as OT, because they teach us something about God.
As far as Job goes, the God in the book of Job is the same God yesterday, today and forever. Why I commented in the first place is that Dan Mohler has an unbiblical view of God. The Bible says God is completely sovereign. He does as He pleases. And the book of Job is a vivid portrait of God's sovereignty. This has nothing to do with the New and Old Covenants. It has everything to do with the attributes and power of the Living God. For instance, remember that the devil had to ask God whether he could do anything evil to Job? God granted the devil his request. God could have said no, but he didn't. That's because God's ways are higher than our ways,. Even though we know with certainty of His love for us in Christ, we also know that the NT says "all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus WILL be persecuted." Or how about James who tells us to rejoice when we have various trials? This all points to the fact that God uses both blessing and suffering to work His holy will. Who are we to say that God cannot bring calamity to our lives? Who are we to think that suffering is not used by God for sanctifying, humbling, and making us more like Christ?
Madetolove, I sincerely wish you blessing and I only want you to have a greater awe of the Living God who is far above all our understanding. May we through Jesus Christ, draw near to the throne and worship this holy and Sovereign God.

If God isn't in control, or ultimately in control then that's a very scary place for most of the body of Christ , that means if we don't have enough faith or aren't mature enough to hold fast to faith or don't realise fully who we are in Christ, then Satan has complete authority over us to destroy us or kill us or our loved ones anytime he pleases. I just recently watched my beloved wife of 22 years die of Cancer From first diagnosis till she passed was 44 days,She loved and served the Lord faithfully for many years, she was an amazing christian, and died loving me and the Lord believing God for deliverance.Did I pray? you better believe I prayed, was I in the place of faith that could move mountains, probably not. So what can I conclude. Satan won.If only I knew my place in God then everything would be different, so I guess I'm ultimately responsible for her death.

+podey cook I'm so sorry for what has happened to you brother i can't imagine what that would be like, stay strong in Christ remember the love of God. Remember that passage about building your house on sand or rock, the rock being Jesus. Now in that parable the storm comes on BOTH houses meaning the storm of life (death, disease, stealing etc. etc.) comes to both. But how that shapes the person depends where they have put their trust where they have put their love and who will endure. What im trying to say life isn't fair and a christian life can be very unfair, persecution and death, rape and all kinds of hateful things happen and have happened throughout the christian age to christians.
And now especially in the middle east christians are like we always have been martyred to God. I don't think those who have been martyred or raped or beaten so they can't ever again walk etc. asked that of God (rarely) that they can have that but it is the reality of this world the reality of darkness and evil. But most of all i want to say to you YOU are in no way shape or form responsible for the death of your wife, Satan is and he will answer for it most painfully that is promised! I myself struggle with these kind of questions and this question and i can't say because i haven't reached that maturity in my relationship with God what, how or why these things happen other than please never forsake God and dont blame yourself for most assuredly God doesn't. Only through growing more into the image of Christ and communion with him will we be answered or not that is up to God (i dont think he gives us all the answers while we are on earth, but expects faith to trust in his goodness). But that is the only way to know is to seek God and grow.
I want to pray for you now that God will touch you and pour his love unto you and help you through these times. That he will answer you and love you with a fierce love. That he will bless you and give you joy! I just want to say Jesus is there for you! don't let the thief harden your heart in loving kindness from a brother in Christ peace be unto you.

Rejoice in the Storm and out of the Storm. rejoice your Wife is Healed and in a place with no more sin, sickness or sadness. She is Alive in Christ. and once you finish your work you too will be with the Lord and Her. fight the good fight of Faith. lean not on your own understanding, But trust in the Lord with all your heart. Jesus won the Fight for Her. though her body has passed for now. Her Spirit is Made Alive forever more. cancer will have to answer for what it has done. and one day the world and all its evils will be cast into the lake of fire. satan, sin and sickness will be gone forever! all evil will be gone. Sovereignty means that He allows it to happen. In the OT it says God does a lot of things that are not of His character, that's because He takes the blame for what He allows. Control would mean that He ordains everything, good and bad, we have no choice in the matter. Hope this helps. God is so good! He loves you and your heart that's seeking Him!

    1. If we answer yes, then all evil is just God's tool for reaching the good. God's goodness is called into question. We can say things that look evil aren't really evil.
    2. If we answer no, then God's power is called into question. Why doesn't he stop Devil or us from doing bad? (Free will defense can come in here that God respects our freedom).

Hey Dan, I doubt you will see this, but if by some chance you do, could you go into more detail with this. Especially about what Todd says about Job. That really built me up after hearing so many people give that same excuse for allowing themselves to live with an ailment. But then i read Job and God does say, "All right, you may test him. Do whatever you want with everything he possesses but dont harm him physically." Also in another version it says "Very well then, he is in your hands." Then in the second test God says "Alright, do with him as you please, but spare his life". So he does give satan permission to harm him. This is really confusing me could you please help me out on this.

    • @Eyro_Elloyn
      @Eyro_Elloyn 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

It seems to me that God's saying "alright, try what you want, but what I said about Job will be true whether he has the stuff I gave him or not. He will love me because I am the Lord, not because I give him things.

      @NSLbeats 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

So what about when he says he is in your hands, God does remove his hedge of protection from Job, allowing satan to afflict him. I posted the comment to the wrong video by the way, it was for the "What about Job" video. Todd says that it doesnt say that God gave hin permission to do those things but he did.

    • @Eyro_Elloyn
      @Eyro_Elloyn 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Well, I disagree that God gives Satan permission, it doesn't come across to me as "I permit you to hurt this child I claim to love".
      Job 1:12 NASB
Then the L ord said to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your power, only do not put forth your hand on him." So Satan departed from the presence of the L ord .
However, we already know that Satan had power over earthly things before Christ broke it. Why would God give Satan permission to do something that was already there? No, he was challenging Satan that Job's faith is based in God and not the wealth. "You have the power to steal, kill and destroy, but I now limit you from harming him physically." Indeed He did limit Satan's power, not increase.

    • @danham1440
      @danham1440 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Great answer Ryan! Along with what you said I also found that in Young's Literal Translation (YLT) in v. 8 "Hast thou set thy heart against my servant Job..." In other words God knew why Satan was there and what he was up to. God was not tempting Satan to attack Job. At the end of the book Job says in 42:6 NLT "I take back everything I said..." Maybe that would include the well known phrase "you give and take away"
NSLbeats, Jesus has come and demonstrated the perfect truth and way to understand and know the Father. For myself I have stopped trying to understand some of the difficult passages in the OT that show a contrary picture of God, and have put all my focus on Jesus and all of his promises that Paul says are "YES." Paul says the old covenant was a shadow pointing to the greater and truer reality of Christ. Heb. 1 says "In the past God spoke in many ways...BUT NOW in these last days he has spoken through his Son." There is no darkness in the Father at all. He never needs to partner with evil to accomplish his will. He is just so brilliant in making things work out for our good that it seems like he caused it when he didn't. :)

Hey NSL, your answer should be already answered by Dan in another of his videos.
If you search youtube for "Dan Mohler HCSKL 2011 Day 30"
and then skip to JUMP to 2 hours and 3 minutes, Dan starts talking about Job in detail.
Basically, Dan is saying that when God says "Alright, do with him as you please..." - this is the equivalent of God saying "Alright, do what you normally do then - i.e. steal, kill and destroy, this is your job title".
Dan further talks about whether Satan requires an approval letter / ticket from God each time he seeks to steal, kill or destroy (the answer was "no, Satan does not".
      Hope that helps pal

There is a clear distinction between the Old and the New Covenants. What was OK in the Old Testament, might not be OK in the New. For example:
LUK.9:54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?
LUK.9:55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
LUK.9:56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

I wanted to point out two _minor_ things. First, Jesus rose _on the third day_ not three days after being put in the sepulchre. Second, we are all in the image of God, we are therefore all the temple of God. And to defile the temple of God is to do anything that harms it, that can easily be avoided: smoking (causes cancer), drugs, alcohol (intoxication), hurting oneself, abusing oneself in certain ways, etc.. Those are just to name a few way of defilement of oneself--of the temple of God.

"When God's sovereign and everything that happens is his choice and you believe that it takes the fight out of the Christian!" Wrong sir! Knowing that God is Sovereign is a comfort to believers because we KNOW that he is "Working ALL things after the Counsel of HIS WILL" (Eph 1:11), that he is working "All things for the GOOD of those who love him" (Rom 8:28) Even the hurtful, evil things that we don't understand! God is SOVEREIGN, 'NONE can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?” (Danile 4:35)
Dan Mohler is using human reasoning and arguments: "If you believe he took your child how can you worship him..." This is EXACTLY what the bible warns against: "TRUST in THE LORD with ALL of your heart and LEAN NOT on YOUR own understanding." Proverbs 3:5 This is the same illogical fallacy that Paul warned agains multiple times in Romans:
Concerning God's Sovereign Election: Paul KNOWS that his preaching (that it is GOD who has free will to choose and NOT us) will cause the nay sayers to object (as they still do) "Hey, that can't be true, that means we'd only be robots and God couldn't really blame us" Which is exactly the foolishness that Paul said they would say (See Romans 9:19-21)
Concerning Sin and God's forgiveness: Paul KNOWS that his preaching (that God's provision of Grace covers ALL sin, "Where sin abounds Grace abounds all the more") will cause nay sayers to say "Well if that's the case, then let us continue to sin that Grace may abound!" But Paul says "God Forbid", "May it never be!"
This man sounds like the serpent with smooth words but he is not telling the truth! Listen to what he's actually saying: IF God is the one who took your child THEN we could not worship him, THEREFORE, God did not take your child! But JOB said, "Shall we accept Good from God and Not Evil?" Ask yourself, will YOU only worship The Lord if you believe he had nothing to do with the death of your loved one! Think hard about your answer!!!

And then judgement came. It seems like the harshest judgments came on the heels of folks knowing God was at work and they basically "spit in His face" anyway. Make more sense? A lost person or a loving Christian person is not "afflicted BY God". Its not a judgement thing... Its a living in the broken world thing. We are here to reconcile the world back to God. This is one of the most ignorant statements I have heard in awhile. "It takes the fight out of the Christian." Tell that to Augustine, Luther, Calvin, Knox, Edwards, Owen, Spurgeon, Whitfield, Sproul, Piper, etc... When you speak to people it seems as though you rely on both their ignorance of history and Scripture. You even have to give them pick up speeches calling them sponges soaking up what your saying when in fact they should be doing a little more discerning...

2 Samuel 12:11-12, Thus says the Lord, "Behold, I will raise up evil against you from your own household; I will even take your wives before your eyes and give them to your companion, and he will lie with your wives in broad daylight. Indeed you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, and under all the Sun."... However, because by this deed you have given occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also that is born to you shall surely die.
True, David sinned in committing both adultery and murder. But, God mentions that David caused God's name to be blasphemed, that is why He took his son. God has perfect control over evil without Himself sinning, and He has control over the life of a baby.
Also, if you haven't and you really want a perspective from someone more intelligent then me, google for an article on the reformed view of evil if you do care.

Jeremy Chelsea My friend. You confuse the Old testament with the New testament. The OLD from the NEW. DO NOT forget why the bible is separated. Everything changed when God took on human flesh, as Jesus Christ and paid for our sins in full.

I would like to first note, my original comment was not dealing specifically with sovereignty, but Mohler's general caricature of those who believe in the sovereignty of God and their apparent lack of "fight." That was simply ignorant verging on idiotic. I am happy to discuss actual sovereignty, and am open to refinement.

Did Jesus not pay for David's sins as well? How could Nathan tell David that his sins were forgiven? So God used to have control over evil, and now He doesn't? If God no longer mediates evil, then why pray to Him to do exactly that? I don't see how I am confusing God from the OT and God from the new, especially since those who physically killed Christ did "whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined to occur." Acts 4:28. The greatest sin in all of history happened under the guidance of God's hand. I do not see God mitigating His sovereignty from the OT to the NT.

Jeremy Chelsea Was not his comment about lack of "fight", referring to the excuse we use for not walking life out like Jesus - that when we fail, or something bad happens or someone is not healed, that we say it's God's will. Instead of fighting the fight of faith, we let experience write a new doctrine. It is a "fight", Paul called it so even. Why didn't the disciples give up after failing healing and say "It was God's will".
Jesus healed everyone He prayed for. Our mission is preach the gospel, heal the sick, raise the dead. Jesus did this countless times, even when He didn't seem to expect it (not in the plan). He made wine when His time had not yet come.
Let's not build a doctrine from things that are not written. The difference in the NT is that we now possess the holy spirit and we are invited into righteousness by the blood of Jesus. We are bringing the kingdom of heaven to earth because the spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is in us. And Jesus is the way to the father. The Kingdom of heaven is near - no! it is already here. We're restoring it back to sinlessness. Right? So even if we're wrong in the end (that God does in fact for some reason cause suffering and death - which I can't believe), let's live by what we do read and see in Jesus' life. He said "even greater things, you will do" well let's get close to that holy spirit and let Him overflow with Love!!
Come on guys!! Let's not be divided :) but united in Christ. Because if we have not Love......
PS. I think another useful passage might be Romans 14, where Paul's speak of one man holding a particular as special for God and another holding every day - that we should not judge eachother and be divided, as long as we doing it for the glory of God.
He is risen! We are saved. Let's bring Heaven to Earth and shine the light of God everywhere we walk!

So do you believe in determination or free will? You can't believe in both

do you do your will or God's will? Jesus did the Father's will and the Bible says we are to be conformed to Christ's image.
