Perhaps my favorite EJ tune You're missing out if you don't listen in stereo with headphones--Enjoy :) #fractalaudiosystems #fractalfm9 #ericjohnson #ahviamusicom #trademark #fender
Very nice indeed. And I got the same shiver down the spine at the tone and embellishments of the overdriven licks as I do from the original. Great work 😊
You did a fantastic job on this song. Everything was perfect! The effects were perfect. You really captured Eric Johnson's essence of playing. Congrats. The best cover of Trademark that I've found so far!!
TH-cam recommended this to me, and I’m blown away, sir. Amazing job. Hands down the best cover of this song out there. What gear are you using, aside from that gorgeous strat?
I am so so so impressed. This is an incredible feat: not just playing it but figuring out all of the chord voicing and all the little things EJ does. I noticed there were quite a few “fast” parts that were done with the use of legato: would this be how EJ would have played it or did you adapt it to fit your style? (sounds fantastic either way)
Thanks very much! Yes, I adapted the fast runs for my abilities. I definitely relied more on hammer ons & pull offs rather than his alternate/economy picking.
Absolute master on the small nuances. If some of only a few notes weren't micro seconds off beat I would have thought it was the original. What the actual fuck!
you know the odd things about these songs...the tab books arent nessecarrly right I have found out......good cover btw i see you dressed to match the guitar :)
The EJ strat I used for Cliffs of Dover tends to fight back a lot, but it’s the one that sounds closest to EJ. This new strat is more forgiving-I think it’s because of the neck shape, it’s a bit more comfortable for my hands.
I'm so sorry but I really have to ask... I know absolutely nothing about digital modelers or any of that stuff: how did you get the whole A/B thing going where you were able to switch between clean and lead tones on your modeler? I would really like to know the setup you are using to change effects!!
I don’t mind answering. The foot-switch modeler I’m using is the Fractal Audio Systems FM9. To put it simply, when you create a preset or a patch in the pedal (which you can do via an app on your computer) you’re able to create scenes. Think of it like a preset within a preset. Each scene allows you to choose an amplifier model, a cabinet model, distortion effects, chorus, etc. The FM9 has 9 foot switches that allow you to choose a scene/effect/preset. So what you’re hearing in the video is me starting with scene 1 (clean tone) then I hit scene 2 (dirty rhythm) and at the end scene 3 (lead tone). Each scene has a different amp with its respective settings. Hope this helps you!
@@EmptyRoomSessions This is just an absolute wow! Imagine if eric knew he didn't need a 3 amp setup he just needed a Fractal haha. Quite useful things aren't they huh. Is it just Fractal's that do this or do other brands have similar options??
@@brian6556 yup, I own an EJ Rosewood Stratocaster signature. I recorded my Cliffs of Dover cover with it. It’s a bit of a beast to play to be honest, it fights back a lot
I would just focus on learning his songs as correctly as you can. Watch his concerts/live videos and pay attention to what he does. Try playing over the songs in his records. The more you immerse yourself in his music and playing style and practice his songs, it’ll start to become part of your vocabulary and you’ll start to implement what you learned from him. In short, learn the songs and you’ll get exact examples of what his style is!
Very nicely done! One of my preferred EJ songs and you did it justice for sure...Thanks for sharing this post...
one of the very very best covers
You nailed his tone and style! Even the shirt is spot on!
Plays as good as the Eric Johnson
Absolutely brilliant! Everything about this is bang on!
This tone is so spot on, good job man!!!
Very nice indeed. And I got the same shiver down the spine at the tone and embellishments of the overdriven licks as I do from the original. Great work 😊
That's one of my favorite EJ tunes and you played it really well, nice job!

Well done! EJ composes such melodic songs and solos you always sound good when played correctly. You nailed it!

You did a fantastic job on this song. Everything was perfect! The effects were perfect. You really captured Eric Johnson's essence of playing. Congrats. The best cover of Trademark that I've found so far!!
That was awesome playing! I think you knocked the Tone out of the park man! Loved it!

Now, you got to cover his best solo, in my opinion.
Lonely in the night.
Well done young man. You covered a difficult song by a legendary player, now go write your own.
Are you jealous?
by far the greatest cover out there! any way you could share the tabs?
!!! 0o Yeah, Rock on my friend have a nice day :D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TH-cam recommended this to me, and I’m blown away, sir. Amazing job. Hands down the best cover of this song out there. What gear are you using, aside from that gorgeous strat?
All sounds are from the Fractal Audio FM9!
Wow, that was awesome, can you put the tabs pls

@@EmptyRoomSessions So you recon he would pick them mostly?
Absolutely killed that tone and execution!, what pickups are you using in that beauty?

finally made your bed i see ;) just kidding...sounds incredible
I respect you. It's such a perfect guitar tone. I'm using the same equipment. Can you share the presets by email?
Do you have this preset posted on Axechange? If not, any chance of getting it? GREAT rendition, by the way!
What effects should I use for this song?
bump! not enough likes! 🥵
How do you like this stratocaster compared with your other one that you covered cliffs of dover with
The EJ strat I used for Cliffs of Dover tends to fight back a lot, but it’s the one that sounds closest to EJ. This new strat is more forgiving-I think it’s because of the neck shape, it’s a bit more comfortable for my hands.
And nice shirt too, where can I get one from?
Haha Perry Ellis
I can't tell if this is you playing or really good guitar "Lip Syncing". Either way, it's great.
If this is not a stock patch where can I get it?

Which fender?
It’s a Fender Stratocaster American Professional II in Miami Blue
Are you using his pickup set?
@@brian6556 no sir, it’s just a stock strat with its original pickups
@@EmptyRoomSessions Sounds great. Have you ever played his signature strat? The neck is very V shaped which really took me by surprise.
@@brian6556 yup, I own an EJ Rosewood Stratocaster signature. I recorded my Cliffs of Dover cover with it. It’s a bit of a beast to play to be honest, it fights back a lot
Is these real? OMG 😮
that's why I quit to play guitar anymore......
Sounds so good! Any suggestion to improve Eric Johnson playing style? What should I focus on in the first place?
Great guitar as well my man!

Played it ok, tone wise sound’s kinda dead, nothing close to EJ sounds more like Erica Johansson….on crack
