My mom bought me my first electric guitar in 1991. I used to love this song back then. Mom died in 2021 of Alzheimer's. I heard this today and started sobbing. Miss you mom. You taught me how to dream and this is the soundtrack to my dreams as a kid.
I don't care if there are technically better players than EJ ( doubt there are that many though) but his sense of melodic composition and that sweet tone is just godly. For me the Goat of guitar.
This is my favorite song of ALL TIME! It has inspired me since the first time I heard it. In MY OPINION, Eric Johnson is the best guitar player alive and certainly one of the top ten EVER. The album/disc Ah Via Musicom is incredibly diverse with influeces of Chet Atkins (Steves Boogie), Wes Montgomery (East Wes), and ball busting, guitar shredding on Cliffs of Dover, et al. His nuance and inflection is so rich and has so much texture. EVERY guitarist, no, EVERY MUSICIAN should have this disc!
Slash made me pick up the guitar, because it looked cool to me (don't judge me, I was a dumb, trend following kid back then...) John Petrucci and Alex Lifeson made me take the guitar more seriously. But Eric Johnson... EJ gave me the pure inspiration to master the guitar in all it's shapes and forms!
One of my earliest influences. Though I was a metal head this really brought me to a good place musically and eventually brought me to SRV as well. Thanks Eric!
The strange thing is, I’ve loved this song for years and never looked at the music vid. But this song always made me picture horses in my mind. Seems it wasn’t only in my head.
I ve heard this song in early 1990 but i never knew the title, yes its true about the imagination of riding horse in the country side....till i found the title and this video clip just four months ago
Still, simply the best! A master multi instrumentalist and such a good soul, positive, melodious vibes pour out of every cell! @ericjohnson, rocked Clearwater, Fl last night! ❤❤❤
All I can say is the man commented on his F.b. page and gave me a condolence for my son and bandmate jason I lost in Aug 2020, I think he is super humble, I've been struggling with my sons passing, I had tears the day I read his message but it was joy, I will be a fan of his till forever is thru.....
@@joebatters6508 yeah , if you met him,and I know you did,he is not like some of the other solo guitarist/heroes, they didn't give me even a hi how u doin, I won't bash them, enough hate out there, I will follow E.j. his guitar lessons for a simple food donation, my God the man is just real, feet planted on ground, I wish I had a third of his talent, take care guys, be well, see you at the shows someday...
What a great guitarist...I've had the pleasure to see him live a couple times and he is purely amazing...One of the best concerts I've seen was when he opened for Joe Satriani a couple years back ! Thanks for posting
Saw him at House of Blues in New Orleans back in 2007( I think), after Katrina. I was tripping balls, and the ambience was comforting, the whole show the soundtrack of my trip. Never smiled so hard for so long in my life, my smile muscles were aching next day
Very unique song and i love the video despite what others say. It takes you to some cowboyish fairytale dream sequence set in the past. One of the very best songs by EJ.
My radio station does an end of year song A to Z and I was lucky enough to be tuned in when this was played, or I'd never have known about it. Had to look in their playlist to know the info, but happily in my stash for nearly a year.
If you’re Joro and your handle says that you are. I listened to a couple of your tunes. I liked them. I was born in 54 like Eric. When you get older you tend to stick with what you know. Still no more celebrities in politics 👍.
Man, I love this, but had no idea it was so old, from the 80s!!!! I used to deliver Pizzas and this was playing all the time!! That was 20 years ago!!!! Thanks for posting this!!! Flying Mailbox in the middle of the video...gives the term Airmail a whole new meaning!!!! 2 people need a Happy Pill!!!!
About the video, it's like this : The beautiful girl is drawn to Eric, enthralled by his beautiful music. However, so divine is the music flowing from Eric's guitar that Eric is himself enraptured by the music, and thus fails to even notice the beautiful girl. The girl, realizing that even her beauty, great as it is, stands little chance of of drawing Eric out from the spell of the enchanting music flowing from Eric's guitar, turns and runs away. Man, now that's Poetry for you !
F**ck, I love this song!, for me is the best Eric`s song. the feeling he puts on every fret is unique, he doesn't need to be as fast as Yngwie Malmsteen to be one of the best guitar players of the world, his playing is smooth and full of feeling!!

Sorry for your loss
I am so sorry about your mum. We love you.
Wow My Respect For You Master

Why does this music not get the recognition it deserves? Seriously, what is not to love about this? Everything is perfect!
EJ is a Virtuoso, saw him in Austin a couple of times, he has very fast fingers and creates sounds that are inexplicably brilliant. Top Shelf talent
Eric Johnson is a fucking LEGEND. Top shelf.
I love this song because it makes me happpppy. You agree?
After 29 years this song is still magic. Its like floating in a cloud of music. Timeless.
Right, you nailed it! Timeless Memories, when music was pure and magic.... EJ still's the Best!

Venus Isle isn't half bad either. And his new one is very much EJ.

One of the sweetest, most beautiful pieces of music ever created 👌🏻💝💐💫
Been backstage with him several times. One of the most humble guys I’ve ever met!! Incredible!!
Rick Beato's interview with Eric Johnson brought me (back!) here
Me too!
Same with me.
Me three
No way, me too!!!!
One of my earliest influences. Though I was a metal head this really brought me to a good place musically and eventually brought me to SRV as well. Thanks Eric!

Yes! Same ! It’s the galloping bass licks
That's hilarious what a coincidence

This clip is actually better than most netflix shows.
Better than the last 3 sessions of criminal minds
No Way,nah!
This song is a beautiful & majestic masterpiece
Does anyone else just Love this like I do?
I find really hard to believe that someone in their right mind would dislike this video.
Definitely my favorite song from Eric Johnson!!

A Virtuoso. A Master. And a Natural.
Thank You.
Soothing instrumental! Love this song!!!
i met e.j. and i don't think there is a cooler guy on the planet, so humble, so laid back, i will never forget him...
Met him some years ago in Houston, and I had same impression of him. Great guy. Great musician.
Yeah his playing is so stellar you would expect him to be a real conceited prick.....hahah jk. He's a national .. make that universal treasure.
I did too, very shy as well

Saw him and Joe in 1990. Joe had hair and Eric had the big pompadour going ...changed my life hearing that tone up close.
Saw him at House of Blues in New Orleans back in 2007( I think), after Katrina. I was tripping balls, and the ambience was comforting, the whole show the soundtrack of my trip. Never smiled so hard for so long in my life, my smile muscles were aching next day

One of the very best songs by EJ.
One of my favourites EJ's guitar tones.
for those of you old enough to remember...this jam was always played during intermission at all concerts at the old Convention Center Arena....S.A.T.X
Amo esta canción! Es un viaje a otra dimensión sin dudas. Gracias Eric!

오!!! 이중요한 명곡의 비디오를 이제서야 찾게 되네요,,,오디오는 수백번도 더 들었지만 MV는 오늘 처음 시청합니다~! 감사합니다! Thanks! This is a Masterpiece!
old music videos are so awkward and its great
My lover says play it none stop until we are both happy cause I love that song.
This is the day i met God.
nice uptempo blues!!!!!!!.............what brilliance !!!!!!
i have always wonder why this song was so underrated, i think it is one his most expressive. Though not necessarily his most technical.
There you have it ..Technicality not really mandatory for musical expression. Many players need to realize and live by this.
Man, I love this, but had no idea it was so old, from the 80s!!!! I used to deliver Pizzas

I love this melody.

Eric Johnson is a pentatonic-master.
LEGENDARY
I don’t know which I prefer the bass guitar or the lead guitar! The drums are great also.
Amazing ( vdc ) ... Great Sounds Composition and Expression Video Story. .. Nice One ... ☺😊😉/💙💙💙/👍👌👏👋
Eric Johnson completamente mi idolo ...
such insane quality, i love it
what a guy.
When i hear this kind of music, i wonder how it can happen in our rotten world.
Ruby in the dust, like neil Young puts it.
I like the horses in that video
The song needs to be played in the club
Eric is so damn awesome
A classical mark....¡Awesome!

His own music speaks words to me that mean more then a song with lyrics
This song is Fantasia-grade epic!

Actually, he is quite fast too, and I am pretty sure he can tap the guitar as Van Halen, but he doesn't do that for taste reasons I guess.
He is actually insanely fast and articulate but doesn't highlight it the way most skilled guitar players do. Especially during those first albums.
One does not simply play like Eric Johnson.
que tema tan bello.
nono, the video is fantastic too.
I´ve already seen for a hundred times!
