It should reduce the air charge temperature slightly more than the OEM unit. Where a upgraded TMIC really shines is the ability to avoid heat soak. The OEM unit will heat soak after repeated runs whereas an upgraded unit will dissipate the heat better. Don’t expect miracles. It’s sitting directly on top the engine which is producing much heat. For the best IC you’d want to consider a FMIC. Less charge temp allows the engine to produce more power whether it’s tuned or not.
The new TMIC uses a 19in x 7in x 4in cross-flow core with bar and plate construction, providing a 63% increase in total volume and 209% more flow area than the stock top mount.
Why not a custom charge pipe intercooler combo?

Seeing where things are going, probably not. In our testing of the v2 downpipe, we did not encounter any CEL lights.
Is there any additional steps need for the throttle body gasket or does this not utilize any additional parts
it comes with them pre-installed. You might want to oil them up to slide in easier.

bigger doesn't always mean better. this one tested at the top for tmic's.
