  • Portuguese Camino COASTAL Route Video 8 - Vigo to Cesantes to Pontevedra
We missed some things before we went into Vigo. Not only the ones mentioned at the opening of the video such as the La Pinta but also this “Glass Beach” called “Praia dos cristais de Silleiro”. Remember to always keep a small quick dry towel easily accessible so that you can cool your feet in the rivers. This will keep the swelling down and if you dry them good the blisters away. Remember that blisters are created by friction which you can feel from heat. At the first sign of any hot spot you need to stop and do something different such as cooling your feet or changing socks or airing your feet out. If you continue on then blisters will form and the rest of your Camino is miserable.
In April and May 2024 my wife and I walked the Portuguese Camino Central route and within two days we started walking the Portuguese Camino COASTAL route (we ran out of time for the spiritual variant at the end). On the coastal route we really tried to go slower to enjoy the experience.

It really is! Walking the French route gives pilgrims a taste of the variety of regions. When I make videos of those areas I will be certain to be distinct in describing the regions.

It’s so fun and fulfilling. I just wish we had time to do the spiritual variant this time. I have two videos left in the series and I’m trying to get one of them done in the next 24 hours.

Was this part of the camino compostella found in Spain?

Yes it is and we walked the most popular route two years ago which is from France to Santiago and we might do videos on that because we’re doing it again in the fall.
This particular route is the second most popular which is from Portugal to Santiago.
I believe the third most popular is the Norte which is hugging the northern coast of Spain.
