My wife and I are going our first Camino Portuguese the last of September and first of October. This will be our very first of hopefully many Caminos. We are starting in Porto since I only get 2 weeks of vacation per year.

If I had ONE route to choose - it would certainly be to hug the water going out of Porto and maybe even stay on the coast until Spain. We did the French way two years ago and then when we walked the central route from Porto to Spain we really did not like it at all. In the videos you noticed that we also walked the coastal combined with the Senda
      Litoral and LOVED THAT!!!
And it might be because we like the ocean more but we also loved the French way which had no ocean until the very end after Santiago.
We are also from a landlocked state so that might be why we enjoy the ocean but we really loved that route.
We return in September to walk the French way in the fall. Last time we did it in the spring and I’m very excited about this
You said, “only two weeks of vacation per year“, and that’s the way it was with us for so many years until we retired and the first thing we did upon retirement is walk the French route.
On the French Camino someone asked how long it was going to take us to walk it and I told him, “I don’t know“ and he responded with, “oh, you are time rich then“.
      I love that phrase.
Because we finally had the time to walk that route and it was so phenomenal.
      Someday you will as well!

Gracias.

Great comment - I will in future videos.

I think that the majority of people don’t understand the differences between Galicia and Spain - so to give geographical reference I try to often say “Galicia in north western Spain.” Some would probably think that a better sentence would be “Galicia, Northwest OF Spain”….. I certainly will have to study the are closer for the future. Thank you for the input.

Gracias.

As soon as you enter after O Cebreiro there is a noticeable difference. That is why I love the French route because there is such a variety in the path and people.
      Love the Camino!!!
