Very very nice video with plenty of tips. Mny thks for this. I agree with you: be careful how you handle the canopy lock and the Lipo support sled. I should add : and see over time how the flap hinges age, as they are often subjected to stress (take-off, landing, slow flight). Thks to E-Flite for this wonderful Warbird ! JPhilippe. France
What a stunner, love this plane, I'm from the Uk so i should be getting a Spitfire Lol. Fabulous job on the set up video Rich, you explain everything so well. I'm new to the hobby so have many hours to put in on my trainer but this baby is my goal!!! Cheers..
RICH great job with the unbox and assembly and tips for success. Nice to see your only human that battery tray can get frustrating. Beautiful bird that will be in my hangar one day. Merry Christmas to you and your family and always say hello to the beautiful AIMEE. ✌😎👍
Nice one Rich...glad to see one of these fly with a great pilot on the gimbals. I get the feeling this is the P-51 FMS should have made instead of 8 versions of the 1400mm...that were ALL under powered.
Question on this Mustang. There is something plugged into the bind port and it's not a bind plug. When I bind this aircraft it binds to my transmitter and stuff moves. If I unplug the aircraft and plug it in again it is in bind mode again. Do I need to remove what is in the bind plug slot on the receiver bind port? Thanks!
Great video! I hope to have my skills up there in order to add this and the FW190 to my hangar. Getting plenty of practice on the simulator for now. Last time I flew an RC plane was about 11 or 12 years ago when I got ahead of my skill level and destroyed an Alfa models FW190.🤣🤣
Thanks Joshua for watching... I put a lot of work into it:) Please use my link in the description below the video to purchase as we do get a small commission at NO cost to you! Thanks for the support:)
Very much depends on the style of flying you are doing and the battery manufacturer in some cases-Somebody was really good throttle management for example could get the same flight time from a 4000 as somebody who races around for the whole charge with a 5000 so it really does come down to the individual and a few variables. as you know I tend to fly the aircraft reasonably aggressively in the videos so somebody with a more relaxed flying style who just likes to cruise around could probably get a couple more minutes than me on the same battery. I would have to have a look at the timer on the radio but I seem to recall around 5 mins with the lipo around 3.8v/cell. Thanks for the question🙂
My p51 1.5 is easily my favorite plane to fly. Handles amazingly. Unfortunately i had an incident today and turned it into a lawn dart. Hopefully have her fixed and back together in a few weeks
Great plane rich you really do a great job of explaining everything and you are a excellent pilote I'm thinking about getting this plane I'm really impressed I'm not really not into war birds but I'm impressed

Hi Rich I,ve purchased the basic Eflite 1.5 metre P51 without the Spectrum receiver I,ll be using my 7 channel Futaba instead not sure about the cables from the esc one is labeled throttle and the other BEC AUX do I plug the throttle lead into receiver and leave the other unplugged? Thanks regards Neil.
Hi Neil sorry it’s taken me awhile to get to this did you manage to get it sorted? If not send me a message via RCinformer Facebook page and I will be able to help you👍
Hey rich it's a good idea to put dielectric grease in that plug n play. It waterproofs stops corrosion and conducts connection. Cant go wrong... A.M.S...U.S.N.
Not unless you have flown other warbirds like the trojan a fair amount first..end of the day man you know your abilities best, if you are not sure then there is your answer most likely🙂
Only thing they need to do, is paint the plastics (like cowling) the same color of the yellow trim. Sounds picky, but you would not believe the difference it would make to the overall appearance. Rich, are the scissor links on the landing gear struts aluminum like the rest of the struts, or are they plastic. Very curious. Thanks for the video!
The 1.5m is superior in every way! This is probably the premier EPO P-51 on the market:) Thank you for using my links in the description to purchase:) Thanks for the support:)
This P51is not only larger in scale than the 1.2m but it also comes with extra scale details the 1.2m does not have. Lights, sequenced main gear doors, and a scale retractable tail wheel which even has spring loaded gear doors. It is a graceful flyer. I absolutely recommend you get one.
This P51 is slightly larger in scale than the FMS P51. It also has fighter like performance with the stock motor and esc, while the FMS P51 has okay power with its stock power supply.
@@jazzwings1 Unless you upgrade the FMS, it will be cheaper than the Eflite. The FMS is $300, while the Eflite is $500, but the Eflite P51 is a BNF, while the FMS is a PNP; so it will come closer to $400 after supplying a receiver, but then you have another problem. The FMS is 4s powered, while the Eflite is 6s powered. You will be looking at a grand total of around $475 after buying a receiver and upgrading the motor and esc on The FMS P51. It is significantly cheaper than the Eflite, but only if you leave the stock limited power supply in it.
@@johnsons74thsquadron74 thanks for your response, but how about looks, and quality of linkage, landing gear etc, is FMS lower in quality in that regard? I have an spare receiver that I can use, if I buy the FMS so the difference in price still weights a lot in my case.
@@jazzwings1 I can’t say anything about the FMS P51 since I have never flown it. Fms did upgrade the gear citing many pilots’ biggest issues with the plane. I have the Eflite and I love it a bunch. If you have questions you should watch Rich’s video on the FMS V8 P51.
I seen this RC aircraft flying; incredible! It’s prop driven but it flys faster than the e flite A-10 warthog model. Makes me think of getting the A-10 warthog model instead. Tom Sisson
Loved the flight footage in the beginning ...great unboxing thanks for sharing
I just brought one of these plane, and my Landing gear door wouldn’t close is there something I have to set my controller too? Thanks.

Sweet video Rich, man I love my Mustang. It is the most graceful flying airplane in my whole fleet.
Would you say this and the fms 1700 are the best p-51s on the market, and which one would you recommend?

Great video Rich, editing is a wonderful thing, what a sweet bird, thanks for sharing buddy👊🏼👊🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼🎄
I have had mine for 2 year and just getting around to putting together. Did you need to add weight to get the CG correct?
No, it was good stock!

This one is very powerful and has lots of pitch in the propeller....
Hopefully, FMS will address the power system with the V9.

What about prop balancing? Just do after you’ve assembled the prop?
Mine did not need balancing... only balance if there is a vibraton.

I don't think I made one:( But it does well on grass!
I have watched this video and your video on the FW190….between the two planes which do you prefer better? I’m trying to decide which one to get
Both are really great! The P-51 is much faster but the FW190 is a slightly more modern & improved design. Both are really great models!
Any problem with overheating esc which affect the power of the motor?
No problem that I'm aware of
