  • Clo (The company that makes Marvleous Designer) has some FANTASTIC tutorials for getting started that cover pretty much everything, if you're learning or already know stuff, go watch these videos.
    / clo3dsoftware
They're more sewing focused but 90% of it still applies to MD users too.

Big thanks to Khalil Ahmad for suggesting this video, I hadn't even thought about gloves because I almost never make them.
If anyone has a suggestion for something they'd like to learn, drop a comment below.

I made a shirt ONCE two years ago and didn't touch Marvelous Designer at all in the intervening time. Then I decided to make a pair of gloves. How hard could it be? Well, it was hard. Found your video. Thought, ugh, I don't want to spend an hour watching this video so instead I spent THREE DAYS failing at making gloves. My dude, your video is worth the hour. Thank you!

    Hello Daniel,
Great tutorial, I was wondering if there was a way to import a real 3D scanned hand and create a standard glove that can adapt to other 3D scanned hands that I import into the project without having to redo the work every time.
Also I was wondering if there was a physically accurate way of simulating the sewing that when you cut out the material in real life it will fit to the hand.

Really nice and helpfull....however, one thing s confusing me....like at the very end of video, you start adding other shapes and parts which is very interesting to me, and i got the idea of how to do that. But, you add parts on top of basic glove....and for example if i want to export it to other 3d software such as blender or unity or whatever, I ll have double mesh on those places....so do i delete unnecessary parts there or can i like cut holes where those added parts are?

So I made my glove and unfortunately it slips out during simulation and I can get it back on my avatar cause it phases through so easily I find it cumbersome to put full length arm gloves on my avatar

Hi Daniel! Thank you for another great video. Even tho your tutorials are quite long, the way you talk and explaining various things keep my intrest all the way ^^ ( and my attention span if quite a fuck up, thanks internets). You use clo or marvelous just for clothing or did you make some purses or bags? I would be intrested in being mentioned in video description as a suggestor for another video idea xD but mostly in process of making purses ^^ Thanks!

thanks for the tutorial, I have a question what if you did or exported an illustrator file of the pattern and then you just tacked half the pattern into the hand and then added the bottom part, then added the in-between fingers?
