    Can't wait for the Buffer toneprints

    One thing to mention: If you have a wah and a germanium fuzz first, then place the buffer after these 2 pedals. Most of those dont like a buffer in front of them.
    I have a lot of them, and I love my TC pedals :-)

    FYI TC Electronic now build this pedal into their Polytune 3 pedal, so if your in need of a Tuner AND a Buffer go check that one out!

    My experience. First A-B straight to amp and then through your board. No change, congrats. My Marshall/Mesa rock rigs with minimal effects other than delays were fine.One rig was a A-B to 2 vintage tweeds. It was guitar,16 ft Lava to a high end pedal bypass looper with 8 various pedals. Even though off they are technically all bypassed unless being used, ran straight to the amps I could hear a noticable loss in sparkle, it's strength and harmonic quality.
    Secret is *experiment* with buffer placement. I ended up adding the bonafide before the pedal looper which is also before the a/b split to the 2 amps. So yeah, unknown hundreds in high end cable,thousands in pedals, its worth $70 to try. It can sometimes be a placebo effect with buffers but there was a much more pronounced change in the treble and overall articulation especially clean.

    If you have a 20 or 30 ft cable going into your pedalboard and then another 20 or 30 foot cable going back to your amp then you need a buffer. On slightly larger or large pedal boards I find it beneficial to have a buffer at the beginning and a buffer at the end. For me the TC boxes (spark or this) great and the Wampler decibel box works fantastic

    So ideally you have a buffer at the beginning and one at the end of your pedal board chain?

  • @michaelbennett8981

    What wouldn't you use long cables and a pedalboard to demonstrate this. When the power was cut to engage true bypass there was an awkward moment. These details matter

    I heard the best placement of a buffer is right when your signal hits 19 ft of cord,or less if you have alot of tru-bypass pedals.

    i play bass. and i stop using pedals for a tiny bit. i like the tone of my bass through a single 10" cable. i'm starting to use my pedals again to mix up my tones in our songs. i've been on stage with a buffer pedal muting my signal, for whatever reason. the bonafide buffer seems to be something i should check out, but to take advantage of it's true bypass mode you all other effects in the chain to be true bypass.

    Why would you place a buffer pedal before the pedal chain, and then at the end as well?

    • @siavashmassoudi
      @siavashmassoudi 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jared Boisen you’re cable going from your guitar to your pedals can suck tone too depending on the quality and length of the cable. Plus it’ll give a better signal into the pedals so it will make your pedal practically soar in tonal ability such as overdrives and delay.

    Question I have some mis- matched Impedence with TC 1140 I have it’s wants to overload in some situations so I can’t turn up the amp the way I want to really get the power out of it I have the TC straight into the front of my with a delay in the fx loop and when I turn it to really get some dirt out of it it red lights overloads my cable length is no more the 10 foot long ..,so I guessing I need some kind of buffer to match up the Impedence mis- matching to fix this or a Keeley (apartment ) looper true bypass which I have not tried yet .. any suggestions

    Is this useless if I have non true bypass pedals in my chain

  • @LiorB73

    Should I use it at the front or at the end of my pedalboard?

      Only in the front.

      T.I.N Mateus the front of the pedalboard means near the guitar or to the ampli? thanks

      @manhongtv81 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sailen7298 that means after your guitar comes the buffer and next to it is all your other effects pedals.. 🙂

    What if u have a few older non true bypass pedals, running 40ft of cable with a CAE wha mxr flanger and phase 90. My other effects are in the loop, love TC electronics stuff. Big part of my sound

    i have 5 pedals but i think of getting 2 more (delay and noise gate and maybe a digitech ricochet) all true bypass, should i use a buffer on my signal chain?

    • @DavidMorisset
      @DavidMorisset 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      compare you tone straight into your amp as a control then through all your pedals with them off, if you experience no tone loss, then no

    • @T-Hawkeyes
      @T-Hawkeyes 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +David Berg yep, any long cable runs destroy signal if your instruments have pick ups

    If your using i dont know say.... 20 true bypass mini pedals, would this suffice or would i need something more ?

    • @kimhansen6384
      @kimhansen6384 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would have to buy at least 2 pedals more, but yes it would.

  • @McLeanAB88
    @McLeanAB88 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    So, would I need a dedicated buffer if I have a few TC Pedals set to buffer mode?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @McLeanAB88 You would not need a dedicated buffer pedal if you've already got some buffered pedals - thanks for watching!

    would this pedal help aid in eliminating hum that comes from the pickups on your guitar? or is there another pedal that might help with that better?

    • @claytonlance235
      @claytonlance235 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No this pedal won't help at all with that.. it would actually potentially make it worse. Zuul Noise Gate bro, thats what your looking for. Especially with a name like "grindcore".

    Do booster pedals also work as a buffer?

    • @BrentonBold
      @BrentonBold 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if NOT a true bypass pedal, then yes. if the booster is always (turned) on, yes it's "buffering" your signal.

    Do I run buffer - to wah- to fuzz - to other pedals? Will it effect wah and fuzz?

    • @kimhansen6384
      @kimhansen6384 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wah and especially germanium fuzzes will be affected - a lot, so run the buffer after.

    just throw a pedal with a buffer in the chain

    • @nickm.9474
      @nickm.9474 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Pedro Storms Depends on the fuzz. Some don't like buffers in front of them. Put the buffer after the fuzz if it dosent like it in front of it.

      Jeff Malz bro my tu-3 was sucking my tone. I took it off my chain and put a plain buffer and it sounded way better now looking for a new tuner. Crazy. Been having that pedal for years.

    This is hilarious to me. All these dinguses and their true bypass pedals because “we don’t want buffers!” Now have to buy yet another device to stick on their pedal board just to get a buffer LMFAO... sorry but I don’t see the point of true bypass
