Ruth gets a 10 on personality. She's fair, honest and genuinely respected the other dishes with an open mind. Akua would barely try the food and was quick to disparaging instead of giving it any chance. Yall seriously need to remind contestants to keep it respectful abs go in with an open mind.

Lool! It's really not that serious, people are allowed to have preferences and make choices that differ from their culture. Besides, culture is forever evolving, who's to say that what's "proper" now won't be different later down the line 🤷♀️
@@jadoei3576 nobody is debating whether someone is having a preference but you. There is a cultural way to eat most African foods, and that's with your hands. That being the proper way meaning genuine. Anything that changes down the line is simply that, a change. Anyone who chooses to do different is doing just that, choosing. That doesn't negate the proper cultural way.
I really appreciated Ama saying the okro had been blended. It's easy to say every dish is horrible, but I'm glad she said what might have gone wrong with the one dish. Akua, and her attitude, have gotten boring. I don't care if her food is good. If she's in the next one, I'll skip her bits. It's meant to be fun. Well done to the other three for not taking this too seriously!

I wish I could actually see the plate, in a single close up shot, before the ladies tried it. This was one episode I especially would have liked to check for that okro “draw” 😂 they kept mentioning. IYKYK
In the Southern US we have 2 dishes that come from slavery which we eat today. The first is gumbo which is an okra and seafood soup we also add other meats too such as chicken. It’s one of my favorites.
The other is just no name but maybe some from Louisiana might call it Maque Choux which is corn, okra, tomatoes and bell peppers, onions and sometimes meat. Sometimes we make the same thing with no corn and eat with cornbread and rice. I wonder about the African influences. My great grandmother generation and those before her also would eat that dish with their hand. Nobody does that anymore. It was thought be to done due to slavery and poverty and lack of education but I actually think that this it was another cultural clue which was lost. Maybe they ate that way because they wanted to from tradition. My great grandma and friends certainly had access to forks when I saw them doing it.

@@jasondowns9056 There's a difference between having an opinion and being rude. It's HOW you say it. The problem with Akua is that HOW she says it is straight up rude and nasty. Even in competition, if you know you're the bomb, the cockiness and rudeness isn't necessary. The talent should speak for itself. Also, if it's not that deep, that makes the cockiness and rudeness extra for absolutely no reason.
I was ready to go after Akua in the comments section with her Gordon Ramsey critiques but she came correct. 😂
But there is a way to give constructive criticism without being mean. But that's her brand I guess

Akua irritates me for some reason. While her food does look good, can she sit out future videos? I think she believes that her soft voice will make people overlook her negativity but that's not the case. Ruth's attitude was so refreshing.

Y'all gotta disqualify Akua from all future videos, man. Edit her out, forreal. This thing only works with fair scoring, and without an impartial 5th party to taste everything, folks like Akua will always get away with scoring people low on purpose 😬😬. Cocoa Butter does a good job of bringing in another judge to ensure fairness, might help to implement this on Seasoned as well.

For once the biggest critic actually knows how to cook. Ngl I was expecting everyone to dislike Akua's food but it was a nice turn.
Akua just seems serious and very passionate about food and gives direct, honest opinions (which can be a bit rude) but you can tell she loves food & her culture. I don’t really get why everyone hates on her.
Because she's mean, horrible to watch this attitude. She makes people angry. People always excuse rudeness with honesty. But one can be honest without acting like that.

Ok to soup and okra stew are two different things and it is not more or less water that changes that okra stew has a red stew base, whereas okra soup is a white soup base ( no tomatoes) .
