I have one of these in my fencing tool arsenal and it’s the cats meow ! It actually belongs to my brother but he loaned it to me and I need to get one of my own soon. That tool has saved me a lot of extra labor using a stretcher and loosening staples etc to tighten up barbed wire.

I just stumbled upon it recently. I agree, it’s excellent. Makes a secure, tight repair.

One of our favorite fence mending tools. We use it for tightening and also mending broken wires. Usually there is a little overlap of the broken ends and we use crimps. You can also use a little longer piece of Barb wire to patch broken wires you just have to wrap further to catch more barbs. I don't think it's as strong as other methods but it's working for us.
