Glad you're starting to get up and mobile. I'll keep watching your back catalogue, brilliant stuff. I wondered if you were wearing full length boots and if that made no difference? Stay chipper xx
Thanks, glad you like the videos. I was wearing proper, good quality, leather motorcycle boots that come about 6 to 8 inches above my ankle but as the impact was about half way up my lower leg I don't think they would have had much effect. Cheers Rog
Sorry to hear about your predicament, you must have taken quite a whack. People are in such a rush nowadays, most of us bikers survive on luck as much as skill.
Thanks, yes the poor old leg took the full force of the hit unfortunately. With everybody today wanting to get around as fast as possible, I always ride as if they're all out to kill me, but there's still situations like this that you just don't see coming. It certainly is down to luck, or lack of it, at times. Cheers Rog
You have my deepest admiration for your positive resolve in moving forward with this horrendous injury. Mildly relieved that it wasn't the BSA, but that's pure selfishness on my part.
Thanks, I always like to look positively at things, doing otherwise only makes it harder to get through. It did occur to me how things could have been different as I nearly went on the BSA that morning. At around 70kg heavier than the CCM, would it have made matters better or worse? well never know😊😊 Anyway, Goldie is safe and sound in the Garage.👍👍 Cheers Rog
Hi rog keep up the positive thoughts and get back on those bikes soon , maybe you can fix up a big battery on your 4 wheel buggy and do some rambling 😂 regards chris
Thanks Chris much appreciated. Yes, I think a little engine would be better than a battery upgrade. It does 4mph and it's supposed to be good for about 10 miles on a charge but I wouldn't want to test it out. Cheers Rog
So happy I stumbled across your channel when your review of the BSA Goldstar 650 popped up in my feed. Immediately watched a few more of your videos so, hey, why not subscribe? 😄 I love your Spitfire bobber (Al, is it?) and your positive outlook. Bought my first bike in 1968 (a 1962 Honda 150), currently ride a Bonnie and an RE Meteor, and your videos inspire me to keep riding as long as I can. All the Best from Kentucky!
Hi Pete and thanks for subscribing to the channel. I've a couple more motorcycle rambles to post that were shot before my accident then it'll be a little while before new rides appear, till I'm back on two legs again 😂😂 Glad you're enjoying my posts anyway. You've been riding as long as me (since 1968) so obviously have the same love for it as I do. Keep riding as long as you can. Cheers Rog
Good to hear the update, that leg frame is a fantastic invention to allow you to move around. Keep up the exercises and your be back before you know it. We are all rooting for you and best wishes👍
Thank you so much Martin its good to have support like this. Every time I look down at my leg I can't help thinking want a great bit of kit this is. Bulky, uncomfortable and heavy but being able to walk on it (eventually) will be great and they say its far better than plates or rods as the bone heal naturally. Anyway, onward and upwards. Cheers Rog
Thanks for the update Rog. What an inspirationally positive attitude you have . No doubt it will aid you in your recovery. Good luck & best wishes to you.
Thanks for the kind comments Kevin, much appreciated. It will be a long slow journey and thinking positively is the best way to get through it. Cheers Rog
Hello Rog! I’m glad to see you are able to move about and keep everything from seizing up! You were very lucky that AL came out of it relatively okay. I must say that it’s always handy to have a mobility scooter (I use one myself) and it’s marvellous how everyone is rallying around to help out. It’s good to see your updates, and maybe you might consider telling biking stories from your past, as I have done on my channel from time to time. As you might be aware I often have odd periods when I can’t make a ride out video, so I do a garage or conservatory chat video instead, as it stops me going crazy, and some folk find my rambling entertaining. (I have no idea why.) Anyway, keep warm, eat really good grub, and remember we here in TH-cam land are rooting for you to recover quickly. If there’s anything we can do to help, just give me a shout.
Thanks Steven, yes, the support from the TH-cam community has been quite overwhelming. Never had a mobility scooter as never needed one before but this is going to be a game changer for me. Initially just getting about at the hospitals for out patient appointments, but later, being a bit more ambitious. The wife is an absolute brick and looking after me so no problem with good food etc. I'll give some thought to other video subjects, it certainly works for your channel and yes, you can be very entertaining with your chats 😂😂 Cheers Rog
You would be well advised to benchmark the videos / vlogs of one of your own countrymen, a gentleman who talks very fondly about royal Enfield motorcycles. Pl see who he starts his videos, his choice of music, content and how it ends. It’s worth benchmarking for reference. There is a reason why he has such an huge following. All the best.
Hi Rog, not much more I can say, or add to what's been said in other comments here. I would like to have seen more damage on Al, and less on you, because Al would have been the quicker mend, and the other guy's Insurance would have paid for it. Main thing now is to keep up with all excercises, and keep your brain and hands occupied... helps make the recovery time pass quicker! Swiss greets, S.
Thanks Steve, much appreciated. Yes, Al could have stepped up a bit and helped me out but it happened so quickly neither of us saw it coming 😂😂😂 The regular exercises are helping a lot and I do feel more mobile now. Slow and steady. Cheers Rog

Broke my ankle in 3 places and a rib, spent quite a while in hospital and like you recovery was long winded.
