Great follow up review. I upgraded from my old 2019 intel MacBook Pro to the M3 Pro MacBook Pro and it is a great upgrade! I got the 36GB RAM and 512SSD (I use external SSD for video editing, and a separate one for my photos library).
I have the M3 Max 16 also. Upgraded to 128GB and 8 TB. I use it daily for E-Mail, TH-cam and some light porn on the weekends. Really wanted to avoid overheating and have some longevity peace of mind.
Are you using 'Notes' daily ? Are fans spinning hard ? Thanks for your advice, This might tends to seriously influence my decision to buy the maxed out model.

you can get lunar that enables up to 1600 nits of brightness, so the extra 100 nits is mooch point really when its already available on the m1 14 and 16 inch.
dude got an m3 max to make a big one a bout how fast is safari loading, how good the paint is on the chasy and other useless info. no one cares about how safari works, talk about the performance and compare it , make some tests with exports and real life editing
@@badger-productions Sure, like I said, it depends on what you're going to use it for. "Everyday tasks" could be anything. For me, everyday tasks include video editing and photo editing. If you mean just web browsing and opening apps, those are single-core tasks and won't be impacted by more cores or a better GPU. But again, that's why I didnt say just get the M3, I said it depends on what you use it for. If you dont do anything intensive, then sure! Get the M1 without issue!
@@AppleInsider Being a full time media guy who edits only in 4K whilst editing photos in photoshop etc the M1 Max is still a fantastic option for the majority of people. The leap in tech with the introduction of apples own silicon was game changing without a doubt, but the leap from the M1 to M3 especially when we talk Max spec versions isn’t groundbreaking or suddenly making life so much easier for media pro’s, and I think it’s dishonest if anyone says otherwise. I’m of course not saying you are doing this, not at all, I appreciate your content, I just wanted to chime in for the person asking the question as the price difference is a lot, and unless you are going crazy with media related tasks I know what I would get.

The most common advice I see around for people upgrading from intel laptops is that any M-chip MacBook is going to be a vast improvement. So look at your finances, most commonly M1 Max and m2 pro seem to be the most recommended for users and saving some money.
i think (and im not 100% here) that the glossy screen is because its brighter and more color accurate for people doing video editing/photo editing which are things people use this machine for a lot

@@Suqrat400 m4 won’t be released for at least another year. M3 would represent a sizeable improvement over m1 so I would just get M3. Maybe look at Apple refurbished laptop deals to save on cost

I just got he m3 base model and honestly so happy with it as a just a casual daily driver. I imagine this model is DUMB fast

I am currently using an M1 MBP and it’s still running smoothly. Whenever I upgrade in the future tho, I’m gonna go with the model with the pro chip.
It’s a shame there are no big title games designed to run natively on Mac and profit from this powerful machine.

The only thing missing is Optane 3DXPoint SSD. But that would require Apple to aquire the IPs from Intel...

Really depends on what you're going to use it for. The M1 does show its age against the M3 in a handful of areas, especially in GPU bound tasks
