- Experience the Camino Primitivo with us. Grandma Sally(70) and Grandpa Doug(75) bring you right on the camino with them. This video features the camino, not our happy faces! You'll see the beautiful countryside of the reportedly most difficult of all the Caminos de Santiago. #hiking #grandma #grandpa #caminodesantiago #caminoprimitivo #oviedo.
Thanks for sharing! 🫶🏼 love to see all those beautiful places! ☀️
More to come!
My jaw dropped when I saw the title of this TH-cam video! I’ve wanted to hike the full Camino De Santiago for years now and now I get to watch my favorite TH-camrs do it? Wow! Can’t wait to follow along!
We hope to bring you right there with us. Thanks for following our adventures!
Great video! So proud that you are doing the Camino! Hope you enjoy the rest of your journey! ❤ lots of love from Valencia!
We are finished and we made it! We enjoyed all of it.
You guys are so inspiring! Over 16 miles on the first day? Amazing! And what a wonderful lifestyle! Looking foward to seeing the other videos in this series!
Thank you. That first day, we just kept walking. I kept saying, "Are we there yet?" The amazing thing was that after a night's rest, we got up and did it again! We were never sore or had any physical issues. A miracle and a blessing.
@@Hikingwithgrandmaandgrandpa that's definitely a blessing! It's also a testament to the fact that staying active like you do keeps you fit, ready, and able to do all that you guys do! Cheering you on from the DC/ MD/ Northern VA area and following your awesome lead! Cheers!
Ooh, so cool!! You are in my home country!!
It is a beautiful place and we love the people there.
thank you for sharing! :D
Doug has been excited to get editing and creating the videos from our journey.
Beautiful! A great adventure. Better than Rick Steves. Great narration, spirit, and scenery! Thank you for taking us along. 😃🤗🫡👏
Thank you! It was a fabulous trip.
Finally!!! 🤩😍🥳
Our trip after the Camino postponed the producer getting busy with his editing. He didn't start until we got back to the lovely USA. Haha
@@HikingwithgrandmaandgrandpaIt doesn't matter if it took you so long, the important thing is that first of all you are well, that you enjoyed hiking the Camino de Santiago and that you shared this experience with all of us, making us feel as if we were living the Camino with you. Thank you, we appreciate it!😍🥳
I also have a question: will you also do some walking in Italy? It seems to me that you had talked about it.... There are some really beautiful routes, especially in the Alps and the Dolomites, but some flatter routes are also good, for example the Cammino di San Francesco, where there are also many signs explaining the history of San Francesco. It is also very fascinating! Anyway, thank you very much for your videos, they always bring a smile to my face!
(Sorry for my English 😅🤣)
The music selection for this was a delight. Heck of a journey distance you did.
It was a challenge. 13 more days of hiking in that beautiful part of the world are coming.
@@Hikingwithgrandmaandgrandpa Hope the rest of the days have a shorter distance so you can dawdle.
I thoroughly enjoyed that hike! What a beautiful place.
Glad you enjoyed it! It is difficult to put your phone away and not take pictures!
@@Hikingwithgrandmaandgrandpa I don't blame you! My hobby is photography, I take all the pictures 🤭
Love seeing y’all’s videos pop up, always puts a smile on my face!! Keep it up y’all!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks for the adventure !
You're quite welcome!
What a gorgeous place♥️👏🏻 thanks for the adventure!!!😍 Amo ir de Paseo con ustedes 😘 Abrazos desde Chile🇨🇱
Si po. Quizás podemos visitar los torres del paine de nuevo? La última vez fue en 2012.
oh hi , when you wrote grandma / grandpa, I said let me watch you guys as to how you are doing on the hardest Camino, I turn 71 very soon, a bit disable with a bad knee, I might still take a chance in Sep, thanks for the beautiful views and the food looks yummy x take care and stay safe
Thanks so much! We hike a lot so we felt prepared for the Camino Primitivo. The remarkable thing was how we recovered each day. After the 1st day of nearly 19 miles, I could hardly go up the stairs in our hotel. But the next day I was ready to go! It was a miracle how we recovered each day. We would say we had divine help.
@@Hikingwithgrandmaandgrandpa Divine help indeed, your story touched me, great to have a big close family and me too I am also one of 6 children, I lost my youngest brother to Cancer and I am walking specially for my brother Peter ( I have already snub and will be following you two closely) thanks for the upload
I will also be doing the Camino de Santiago next year! But starting in Portugal.
Amazing!!
Sounds great!
Did you guys ever thought about doing the Camino de Santiago (Santiago de Compostela)?
They are doing the “Camino de Santiago”, there are different routs and all of them are “El Camino de Santiago” because all of them end in Santiago de Compostela. In fact, el “Camino Primitivo” is the oldest rout and I suppose the original.
That last comment was correct. There are 7 main routes to Santiago de Compostela, and a few lesser known and traveled. We chose Primitivo because it had less road walking and is harder. Haha!
@@Hikingwithgrandmaandgrandpa awesome! I didn’t know that, just saw your TH-cam shorts saying it’s the same! Good luck in your journey ♥️
Awesome! What camera are you using?
Mostly Sally's Samsung cell phone and an Osmo Pocket 3 (DJI).
