So fun watching your Day 1, can’t wait to watch the rest. I went in 2022 and hope to head back in 2025, and I’m re-learning a lot about what to pack. Your videos are great so far. Thank you! Love your enthusiasm!! ❤
I am in awe of you Helen for so many reasons. Living your dream and your determination over the last couple of years to make it happen and your resilience and mind set you have on this trip. Day 1 done and I am exhausted for you but you've definitely got this. !! I'm like Jean and loved the horses and their bells, so much like Switzerland. Keep walking my friend you are doing a fabulous job.
Thank you for taking us with you. The beautiful scenery, and the wonderful baguette! I can feel the excitement and look fwd to walking a section of the Camino someday soon.
I loved this video, excellent pieces of small info that I had no idea about eg 15 euro min charge . Really looking forward to following you both on your whole journey.
I am currently on day 4 of your journey and I am thoroughly enjoying your videos. Your format is so enjoyable- the mixture of video, stills, information, pricing, etc... Thank you so much for sharing this incredible experience. Living vicariously through you!
Your joy being on the Camino is wonderful…as it should be! Can’t wait to watch the rest of your special journey from here in Nova Scotia (Canada). We’ve done the Camino Portuguese, the Dingle Way (in Ireland) and are eagerly planning our Frances for September 2025. Buen Camino!😊
Thanks for posting. I walked the Camino Frances Aug/Sep 23. It was a great adventure. For me, the hardest part of the Day 1 walk was the downhill coming into Roncesvalles. I’ll follow along for the memories.
I walked the Camino Frances alone to celebrate my 60th birthday in 2013. I loved your video, it brought back many memories for me. I remember what a relief it was to come across the food van, as it was raining very heavily at the time. Looking forward to following along with you across Spain. Well done.

Wow so happy that day one is done ✅. That terrain looks pretty tough and my favourite thing was the horses with their bells. Reminded me of Switzerland. You guys are just AMAZING and I’m so glad you are fulfilling your dream. Your video is great but I don’t know how you have the energy. Stay safe and keep that water up xx
Is this recorded with just an iPhone or did you have a microphone attached separately? I’d like to make a similar video for another hike which is why I’m asking. Great video!!
I couldn’t stop smiling at your enthusiasm. Thank you Helen. I will be following in your footsteps in just over 3 weeks and following your journey all the way. Buen Camino from Christine in New Zealand.
Hi Jim… I’m taking the low high road and spending 2 days getting to Roncesvalles. I’m a “smell the roses” kind of walker so I’m not in a hurry. My biggest packing decision is whether to bring my binoculars! I will look out and listen out for you. Buen Camino, C
Well, if that's Day 1, I'm not sure how I'm going to cope with the rest of your trip. I cried most of the way through your video. I know how much this means to you and listening to your voice and the excitement was just too much for me. But hey, I'm a sook, so whatever :-) So excited for Day 2. Thanks for sharing your special journey with us.
