Stockton and Malone? How many chips they won? If championships are a major category in individual players it should be even MORE important when it comes to duo's. Gretzky and Messier is definitely a political polite agenda pick. Not only are they not really worthy, but they aren't even a duo. If Stephen A actually knew hockey, the other half of the Gretzky duo was Jari Kurri.

They don't have to be on the same line in hockey to be a duo lol I'll give you an example Toews and Kane never played on the same line, McDavid and Draisaitl are Centers so they mostly play on different lines, Lemieux and Jagr, Crosby and Malkin are a few others
If we're going with hockey duos, what about Yzerman/Shanahan from the 90s Red Wings? or Sakic/Forsberg from the Avs or Teemu-PK9 from the MDA? They played on the same line, and were dynamic alongside together.

1) Magic and Kareem ALWAYS had a third star for every chip (Wilkes in 80 and 82, and Worthy in 85, 87, and 88)
2) They had an overall better supporting case ON TOP OF their THREE--NOT TWO stars (Cooper, Scott, Nixon, Green, McAdoo, Green, etc. are better support pieces than Fisher, Horry, Fox, Rice, etc.)
3) Kareem wasn't even the second best player for TWO of the championships (87 and 88). By then he was third fiddle after Worthy. So, you can't even attribute 5 total championships to Magic and Kareem as a "duo" if you define duo as the two best players on a team. By that definition, they only won 3 championships as a true "duo." That would be like saying Steph and Klay won 4 championships as a "duo." No they didn't. Klay was third or even fourth fiddle for half of those championships.
