I remember that day when it was released. I was on nights and think it was about 6am when it was on the news. I drove home and watched it 5 times on TH-cam and had a tear in my eye. But not as much as when Blackstar was premiered on Sky. I couldn't believe after 60 years of making money he'd turfed out another masterpiece.
"Fingers are crossed, just in case", "just walking the dead", the lines that make me bawl so hard. But, none so hard as " the moment you know you know you know ", when I hear this sung, it's like a dam that finally lets go, completely flooding you with zero chance of receding water. You ARE a new reservoir.
No other country has contributed to modem life than us. Telephones, computers, television among many things this little nation invented. Oh, and football.
I would not listen to ANYONE other than George O'Dowd, or Gail Ann Dorsey sing this. My lord, he does this as beautifully as our beloved David. You really captured it.
