Barry, couple of buffet tips from the former co-captain of the New Orleans House Buffet Blitzers. Seafood buffet with the choice of a 12 ounce filet or a whole lobster for your main entree. Had buffet line of several types of fresh shrimp dishes, oysters, crab legs etc… and veggies caseroles etc…. Learn two tricks: no carbs or dairy until last. You may be too young to remember the place. Talking 70’s. Lionel Ritchie was just starting out.😊
I killed New Orleans east. Went there often. It didn’t close until my mid-20’s.

Melinda's hot sauces are very good. I use a touch in my own BBQ sauce. Adds heat and a nice flavor.
Here is a tip I learned going to UK in the 70s dip your fries in tarter sauce.

Man that's some great looking bar b que and the all you can eat is at what I would consider a reasonable price I could eat good bar b que every day of the week.

Me and my brother went there and got a togo order , I looked at it just to see if there was enough for our family, The ribs were not done I ask the guy if he had any that was done , He was kinda rude and said they been cooking 6 hrs I believe he said .I told him if they been cooking 6 hrs then your fire went out a few hrs ago. He was not in a vert good mood so We went ahead and left went to my house and cooked them , When there is blood in them thats not done to me. Needless to say I have never went back and will never, Mistakes happen but admit it ,

Man, Barry…. Everything looked so good again, maybe even better than, “Moonlight”…. Because, Barry…., that first rib bone didn’t have a chance….!!!😂 I also see that when you had one bone left, and then you cut away and came back, those ribs were GONE…😂
And they probably used some smoked paprika and/or smoked chili powder in their chili…. Just a thought.🤔

I live 200 feet from Ken Tex. Food has never looked that good. My briskets are always two slices and fatty. I guess they knew you were visiting.
That’s why I paid for all you can eat. They had no idea who I was.
The owners are never there. It's high school kids. Furthermore please be honest with your reviews. A Brisket plate $17.00 amounts two slices of brisket. All you can eat amounts to two slices as well each trip. Kitchen has never been that clean as well.

Just had Ken-Tex today! Nothing special. Basic bland under seasoned sides. Chili had a good consistency. No flavor like the meat and sides. We tried pork chicken and ribs. I’ll admit : good bbq is difficult to come by. This is my opinion, is just not flavorful at all. Ribs however are terrible
You are the only person that has written anything negative about this place. That’s a pretty solid approval rating. Sorry you didn’t have the same experience as everyone else did.
After this, you’re going to need a good colon cleansing😂
