    Will people actually ever understand the purpose of snowfoam? Snow foam isn’t to ‘clean’ your car... It isn’t a magical solution in where once it’s applied your car is 100% brand spanking new. it’s a pre-wash. The full purpose of it is to help lift dirt and other particles off the surface of the car, before the contact washing to minimise swirl marks and damages... It is a PRE WASH, not a FULL CLEAN.
    Stop giving this guy hate about how “dirty” the car is after the ‘Pre-wash’.
    1. It’s a pre wash
    2. It’s a review of the product
    3. Do your research before commenting on other people’s videos.

      Let’s not get bogged down with pre-wash ,main wash. at the end of the day snow foam is a load of fun and it certainly gets my lazy arse off the sofa to wash my car for the fifth time this week

    • @anonaconn
      @anonaconn 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It also helps coat any dirt still on the car in a film that lessens the chance of swirling and damage :)

    I use the snow foam for a prewash, I then mitt wash with autoglym shampoo conditioner, use 2 buckets , rinse and wash, results are spectacular.

  • @kevinwhite8836
    @kevinwhite8836 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I am not sure if people understand what this is. It is a pre-wash to loosen up dirt, grime and droppings. The idea after this is to then wash the car using a two bucket method. The idea is that with most of the dirt removed before rubbing during normal washing, you have far less chance of scratching and creating swirls in the clear coat. Cleaning with grit, sand etc attached to clear coat is pretty much like cleaning with sandpaper. This is not meant to replace normal washing.

    • @Rasmus348e
      @Rasmus348e 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same. I have been using the method you are describing - however, I was hoping someone could explain how some people are able to just use the snow foam to clean their car completely? Do they have some kind of sealant or coating on there?

    • @kevinwhite8836
      @kevinwhite8836 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Rasmus, I am not sure many good detailers would just use this product in isolation to clean, for the reasons mentioned. Yes if you have ceramic coated the paintwork you may just about get it clean, however to properly clean you still need to wash manually too.

    • @BionicRusty
      @BionicRusty 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Rasmus348e It is possible to get an acceptable clean if the car has a good layer or ceramic wax, carnuba wax, etc but always best to use snow-foam as a pre-wash. 👍

    Would have been great if you had done one side of the car with the snow foam and the other side just used the pressure washer. And then let dry without further cleaning. I use this product myself and it does seem to work but have not tried the above. I hear more and more that the impact of snow foam is quite low and that the pressure washer itself does most of the cleaning - thoughts? Also, any thoughts on the Bilt-Hamber auto wash snow foam - its my next product to try and I hear good things about its cleaning power. Thanks - great video!

      thanks for your comment, i agree with you to a certain degree but i have seen snow foams clean the car well, after they have soaked into the dirt on the car, but it depends whether you like the look of snowfoam or whether you like one that works which will depend which one you get. never used Bilt-hamber auto wash before let us know what you think!

    • @rizwanmeah7492
      @rizwanmeah7492 5 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Chris Hebden If you rinse the vehicle first, the snow foam can’t cling onto the dirt of the vehicle. It basically means the snow foam has no contact with the vehicle, and instead adheres to the water, as opposed to the car itself. If that makes sense?

  • @Martehhh
    @Martehhh 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    car still looks dirty at the bits where the water has dried at the arch and sideskirt but agree a side to side comparison from snow foam and pressure wash to just a pressure wash would have been nice to see

      when reviewing the products we always follow the instructions on the bottle, regardless of how we do things. It's the fairest way to test.
      Rinsing a vehicle isn't always required if the vehicle isn't heavily soiled. So on a day to day basis it does vary.

    • @TheDetailingDetectivesLtd
      @TheDetailingDetectivesLtd  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi,
      Yes you would need to still do a two bucket wash. Polar Blast is a Snowfoam designed to loosen dirt prior to a contact wash, therefore avoiding potential marring when washing.
      Hope that helps

      The foam can't cling to the dirt properly if you rinse it first. Also, whether the car is wet or dry doesn't change the thickness of the foam.

    What's the point if it's still dirty after.?

    • @TheDetailingDetectivesLtd
      @TheDetailingDetectivesLtd  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is the issue, people expect the vehicle to be 100% clean after a snowfoam. This in 99.9% of cases is impossible.
      Snowfoam helps lift dirt away from the surface helping reduce the amount of dirt left on the panel. On a really dirty vehicle you’d ideally need to pre-rinse.
      This isn’t a replacement for a contact wash.
