I’ve been looking for a truck horn but they do required some type of battery, I really need one when I commuting through manhattan, people just don’t care anymore
I was thinking of the loudbicycle horn. But the size is way too big. I hope they will make a really compact sized horn that has the same effect as cars.
Walking? Don't do stupid things. Cycling/driving? Don't go so fast that you can't safely stop when other people do stupid things. Yes, that means mostly we all need to slow down and pay attention.
There seem to be some poorly designed cycle paths here. Lots seem to encourage people to cross them by separating 2 pavements, particularly by bus stops.
Otherwise it would have been buses entering cycle lanes to stop forcing cyclists to mix with cars. It's not poor design, it's just pedestrians' poor road manners
@@roadbiker8333 It is both poor design and lack of observation. I say that as somebody who is a pedestrian, cyclist, driver and user of public transport.
The old question used to be “if you saw people walking off a cliff, would you?”. To which the old answer was “No”. But since the advent of Smartphones .....
I have a horn on my bike which sounds exactly like that. Some thickos around Dudley step out in front of me, hear the horn and stop dead in their tracks in my path and look into the trees. Whenever I ask why they all say the same, I heard a bird in the tree and was looking to see it! Beam me up Scotty, there's no intelligent life down here!
Pedestrians take precedent over motor car, look in the Highway Code. Pedestrians take precedent over bicycles, look in the Highway Code. That isn't to say that anyone who ventures onto the street is responsible for themselves.
The bus stop bypasses are great, but it wouldn't hurt to put a fence behind them so that pedestrians can only get to and from them in a limited number of places where there's good visibility and a clearly marked raised zebra crossing that would give them right of way. I wouldn't object to yielding to them in that situation.
Agreed, they have added zebra crossing to this, however without the railings. For some reason the councils think that railings are bad... They are good to force pedestrians to cross at a specific safe place.
While I can see how irritating this is for you. UK law is give way to pedestrians (idk where this is looks like London?) on roads and bike lanes even intimidating the pedestrian can be assault and if you hit any of them it would be assault and battery. But that whole randomly jumping in front is ridiculous as well.
Yes, pedestrians, particularly as when already crossing have right of way, but cyclists, of course are exempt from all/any constraints, red lights included and with cyclists on pavements, where do pedestrians go?
Another super aggressive ride, bet your the first to moan about car drivers blowing their horns at you, which looking at your cycling skills must be often.
Protecting cyclist from motor vehicles is a great policy. Unfortunately these examples show the lanes shift the problem towards pedestrians. A lot of the cycle lanes aren't distinct enough from the pavement to warn and deter pedestrians from crossing. Now, instead of looking to cross the road as one task, you have to do it twice. So there's now conflict between pedestrians and cyclist where previously there was very little.
Nah, we see this problem in the Netherlands (specifically in Amsterdam) as well, but only with tourists. Dutch people are used to bikes, they know that they should look before crossing a bike lane. Tourists think the colored sidewalks with little pictures look cute. It's just a matter of getting used to bikes.
Yeah, we saw many videos on cyclists scattering pedestrians like pigeons or running them over on pedestrian crossings. Now a bit from another perspective. People, streets are not your backyard. A bit of attention and making eye contact with the participants around you is all that is needed.
Just because pedestrians are there first doesn't mean they can do whatever they want. And pedestrians are already able to walk however we want on pavement.
Hoghway code: if traffic is coming, let it pass. In the UK, vehicles do not have to yield to pedestrians, in fact, it’s the other way round unless in specific situations described in highway code.
None of these clips are surprising. bikes make no sound ( unless you include the squeeking Canary used here!) However some cyclists DO ride way too fast so is it any surprise people struggle to get out of the way in time? What DID surprise me in a few of these clips was seeing said cyclists actually stopping at red lights! I fainted with the shock actually!
Mac ManMen - yes, the sound insulation of the vehicle surrounding motorists. You need a horn that they can hear from inside their tin bubbles in order to have any effect.
Well no, they do not have priority then. It's still a part of the road as demonstrated by the dropped kerb, so vehicles have priority. Also, there are other bus stops that have a zebra crossing connecting the two sides. Pedestrian have the priority in those zebra crossing. Since there's no zebra crossing, so they do not have priority.
pedestrians are so innocent, they often think road users would never crash into them. anyone could make the mistake of thinking everyones life matters .
I mean sure, but you could also slow down a bit to time your passing with their crossing for some of these. a 0.5s delay in your trip isn't going to end the world.
The way motorists have to share the road with cyclists the same rule should apply for cyclists sharing the bike lane with pedestrians. If it is good for me it is good for you. Ciao from Little Italy 🇮🇹 Montréal Québec the city of over 700km of bike lanes
Problem is, the road is made for everyone, horse riders, cyclists, motorcyclists, drivers. Cycles are solely designed for cyclists. Just like how pavements are solely for pedestrians. If it's a shared path, then I would ride accordingly, but these were not shared path, just a cycle lane.
I'm forced to ride a bike I really don't enjoy it and I don't regard myself a cyclist although I've never driven a car a lot of those people were already crossing well before he gets to them and I'm sure he could slow down and take a bit more care how does he think they I going to cross ? We have to share there's no choice cycle track's are a recent addition to our road's not the other way around
Sharing has to base on a system. Without a system, sharing is not going to work, the road will be no difference to the roads in India. Can I just fly through red lights, change lanes without a care in the world, then just say "share the road!" and expect everyone to get out of my way? The system for roads here is that you either cross the road using the provided infrastructure following the intended usage, or you cross the road anywhere you want but you do not cause approaching traffic to change speed or course. That's how they are suppose to cross.
Roadbiker never seen a zebra crossing on a cycle track .a lot of tracks share a pavement and riding at speed on them is dangerous to both pedestrian and cyclist if you can keep up with the flow of traffic a cyclist should be on the road

If these pedestrians were obeying the rules, they would get the respect they deserve. For example, i will wait for anyone who started walking on green but unable to finish crossing in time. I will let pedestrians cross zebra crossing even when they are only approaching to the crossing or waiting there. If i turned into a side road without light control, i will let them cross.

1:00: Thats the cyclists mistake... when a bus stops at a busstops the passengers entering and exiting have priority, even when crossing your lane. If you cant safely pass, you need to stop.
That’s not true in the UK. Any moving vehicle on the road has priority over pedestrians unless there’s a green man, side road with give way line and zebra crossings. There are no such crossings there, so pedestrians have to give priority to approaching vehicles. There are other bus stops on the same cycle lane that has zebra crossings. The fact that that particular one doesn’t have a zebra crossing, that means pedestrians need to give way.
True. I live in Germany and when a tram or bus stops and passengers go out and there is a bicycle lane some of them might cross, you need to give way. And, even if it wasn't a rule, it is common sense and I dunno, kind?, to be aware and mindful and simply reduce speed and allow them to reach safety. Majority of these incidents are as a result of poor road layout. Why put a bus stop beyond the cycle lane. Fact is London is too crowded and everyone in too much of a hurry. Cycle like the Dutch, slow down and de stress. You're not in the TDF. All respect one another, we aren't motorists, cyclist, pedestrians we're all people trying to get home, to work where ever. What the hell is wrong with these people. See something coming. Walk in front of them. Hear the horn; bell; whistle; chirp. Freeze in path of cyclist. See which way cyclist is veering to avoid them. Step in path of cyclist again....... What idiots !!!
Some of these bike lanes are just stupid. Like what do you expect putting them between the sidewalk and the bus stop, you can barely blame someone missing that when in a rush.
I can't believe people refuse to look up from their phones when crossing a street even if you have the right-of-way, being legally right isn't going to get your health back if you are hit by a car. Some in this video are j-walking while looking at their phones & going very slow. TRIFECTA

NEVER EVER CROSS A ROAD WHILST LOOKING AT YOUR GOD DAMN PHONE, they should make this illegal.
like the comment above so a law can be passed
It does say slow on the ground where he nearly ran someone down, so not all the pedestrians fault!
I was going slowly. It's actually all pedestrian's fault for failing to look for oncoming traffic and step into the path on the road.

I never realised so many lemmings
need a louder horn.
I can't believe people refuse to look up from their phones when crossing a street even if you have the right-of-way, being legally right isn't going to get your health back if you are hit by a car. Some in this video are j-walking while looking at their phones & going very slow. TRIFECTA
Props to you for using the horn and not just yelling "Get out of the fucking way"!
Is that a rape alarm on your bicycle
I bet all of those ped’s drive 4 wheelers.
Proof positive that the most arrogant and ignorant road users are certain pedestrias
I need an alarm like that on my bike. Need a helmet cam too 😂
Hornit 140dB.
It costs roughly 25 pounds and it's the size of a slightly larger light. Battery powered with a button.
Offers two modes, one is shown in this video and the other is like a car horn, but it's softer.
I really like the gopro sessions. Small and light enough to fit on the helmet.
@@roadbiker8333 wait the horn is is 140db? That’s pretty frickin loud lol
What is it with pedestrians nowadays? When I was a kid I was taught to look both ways before crossing
Unfortunately people have head phones..
Some things in their ears
And most of them Don't have cycle lanes in Desert...
You still are a kid, if you still ride bicycle's
