I made it through 24 years. 6 years ago, when I turned 60, I was eligible to retire. The last 2 years before I retired were just awful. Expectations, the behavior, the administrators - all of it. Best day ever was the last day walking out with my coffee mug and my purse. Took a sick day for the institute day scheduled for the next day after the kids had left. I wouldn't recommend teaching to anyone.
My daughter left teaching, she was a Special Ed teacher. We're in Maryland and she left teaching to work at Johns Hopkins Hospital where her husband works. She is so happy now, doesn't regret leaving teaching at all.
I vote to keep the content in one place where all your viewers are. Exciting times ahead but looking for a new job is hard work. Sad so many good teachers are leaving, it’s a similar situation in healthcare. I don’t know how we will recruit the next generation of teachers, doctors or nurses.
By NOT MAKING PEOPLE DO A 6 MONTHS FREE "INTERNSHIP" cause 😂 people need to pay for RENT OR MORTGAGE, CAR PAYMENT 🚗, FOOD, GAS. CELL PHONE, HEALTH INSURANCE AND CAR INSURANCE. It's a real big f ucking BURDEN if you're single and on your own....that's on top of outrageous student loan. SO YEAH. 😂 NO FREE 6 MONTHS OF WORK.CAUSE REAL PEOPLE DON'T LIVE AT HOME WITH MOM IN THEIR 40s You want teachers Keep it real
You're not unemployed missy you are in a process for a better job career but... over all I wish you the best and many blessings hun🥰 We are all there to support you.
Your description about teachers leaving in droves is so accurate of teaching here too! It's becoming almost untenable, the hours, the extra demands, I have almost no work-life balance, hence my TH-cam hobby has fallen by the wayside. It's a sometimes thankless job, and whilst I don't do it for the praise, I find it sad that some parents are blaming teachers more and more for a lack of learning in their children. Meanwhile we have to deal with so many layers now: Physical safety, mental health, familial issues, accountability, self-protection from allegations... Parents almost want us to surrogate parent their children, and we're not qualified to do that. I'm reaching the point where I'm considering a change in my career. Truly, I feel like the struggle is increasing each new school year! Congratulations on your new venture!!! 🥰
I left teaching after 13 years and would never want my children to consider this profession now. So sad, but with students, administrators, and PARENTS it is just too stressful.
Congratulations !! I'm so excited to see what the future holds for you. My cousin is also a teacher. She has 30 years experience teaching high school Econ and AP Econ. Every year gets worse, so much so that she has contemplated retiring early. She loves the students, but it's the Administration that is a nightmare.
At my sister's high school the math department lost 9 out of 15 teachers, and some of those teachers are changing fields, I was shocked. She is still teaching science but it's rough, we are in Texas.
Congratulations in getting out of a career that sadly awful for teachers now and I only see it getting worse. Congratulations on your move, your relationship with Paul, the pets, and your success thus far on TH-cam. You are one of my firsts on TH-cam and watching you and your channel evolve has been a pleasure. As for Oregon channel mix with purse... do whatever makes you happy. I would not mind two different but one would be great, too.
To be very honest, I would love to hear your in-depth review of why you left teaching, and how you had to deal with certain situations. Nowadays being a teacher is such a politically charged career for no reason. It makes me so sad to see how people are weaponizing teachers in our country. But I think a separate channel for your Oregon vlogs would be a great idea. I definitely would subscribe.
I was a high school special ed teacher for 28 years, and I completely understand your decision to leave teaching. When the things that vex you outnumber the things that delight you, it’s time to move on. If you choose to begin another channel, I would certainly subscribe.
I quit too and BEST decision ever. I regret staying for 14+ years and I think had I realized how much it was harming me and my kids/family I would have quit immediately. You are brave-stay strong and be a rising Phoenix!
My mother is a retired first grade teacher. I remember going to her classroom at the end of every summer, prior to the new year beginning, and helping her set up her classroom for the incoming students. She loved teaching, but it definitely wasn’t easy. An underpaid and often thankless, difficult job, yet her last day was bittersweet. I have come across her former students from time to time, and it fills me with pride to hear them speak of her fondly. Change can be both terrifying and exciting, the unknown, what adventures lie ahead. May you and Paul find great success in your next chapter. Whether you start a new channel or keep your Oregon vlogs here, I’ll be tuning in. Congratulations Autumn! Cheers 🥂
I just finished my 23rd year of teaching. I totally understand! It's exhausting work that seems to take over your life. Congratulations on starting your next chapter. I love watching your videos on luxury items because you are so honest and real and share great information. Keep up the great work!
I left my job in the medical field 3 years ago and moved my life 1100 miles away. It was soooo stressful but now I am on the other side of it and life is so much better!
Best of luck on your new journey. I am a retired ICU nurse and if they treat teachers like nurses, I get it. I never walked so fast getting to my car that last day of nursing career. Your feelings of sadness and being uncertain is normal. I am sure that you will find something that you love and will enjoy. You did what you felt was best for you and stress puts a lot on you physically and mentally. All I can say is enjoy your new found freedom. Been watching you for years and with the personality you reflect, I am sure you will find a position that is enjoyable for you.
I am a retired nurse also after 43 years; I agree with this poster that if teaching is like nursing I can totally understand why you are stepping away. For me the rewards of feeling appreciated & like I did a job well done just were no longer there. COVID also played a big part in my decision too!! So Autumn 🎉 Congratulations, on to bigger & better things plus an exciting move to Oregon.
I had my last, last day of brick and mortar school after 10 years of teaching, and I remember the feeling. So strange...like my entire identity was wrapped up in my profession. You'll go through some waves, but give it some time, life on the other side is way better. You'll look back and wonder how you did it all, lol. Congratulations.
Congratulations Autumn! I’m in Australia and left teaching 9 years ago after 20 years. There was a million reasons I left and I’m so much better off now as a Dyslexia Interventionist. You’ve got this!
Congratulations Autumn on this new adventure. I totally understand. My last day of teaching was last week, and I’m ready for a new chapter as well. We’re actually moving to TX.😊😊 Looking forward to your Oregon videos.😊
Good for you! I’m retired now, but years ago I left a career I loved-journalism-to work as a electronics technician. I grieve for what journalism has become, but I’ve never regretted leaving. I know it’s scary right now, but it’s going to be great. Rather than two channels, I’d just stay with one because that’s what life is like.
Boy do I relate. I was laid off. 32 years of Nursing in 2020. Last 10 in higher up administration. I applied for over 600 jobs, not one interest. I guess my age at the time 61 made me less than desirable. I retired early and it is very tight but you can only take so much rejection. Good luck. Oregon is lovely. I live in an Austin suburb but visited Oregon a few times. I would move in a minute but younger hubby can’t retire yet. I wish you all the best Autumn ❤️🥰
Please don’t give up - it took me a while to find the right one (I am a young 67) but finally found a great part time gig. My twin granddaughters👧🏼👧🏼 started first grade & this MiMi was bored. Best wishes. I lived in Oregon for 8 years, Autumn. West Linn. Best wishes on your new beginning.🥳
Leaving a workplace is always bittersweet, but you're on to bigger and better things, and I'm so excited for you! And I think a lunch margarita is a great idea!
Stay with one channel Autumn . You don’t need the additional stress. Congratulations on your decision to change your job I have done this 4 times . You will be fine
KEEP IT HERE!!! You are your channel!..This way we don’t miss anything, and trust me, we don’t want to miss ANYTHING! Autumn, I understand your feelings of leaving a profession and starting something new. I did that in 1995 and went into something completely different after being with my company 17 years. It’s scary and exciting and also exhausting…but extremely rewarding in the end! Take us along, we are all pulling for you and Paul and the adventures that lay ahead !!! 🥰🎉🥂🍾🙏
I get it. I quit my job as an RN after almost 19 years. Toxicity is real. I couldn’t sleep the night before my shifts anymore and my anxiety was out of control. I miss the way it was in the past but I had to leave.
Autumn, keep your channel. You don't need to add to the stress level of a new channel to monetize. You're very brave, not easy to make life changes. It will work out! All the best to you and Paul!
There is nothing greater than having the desire to teach and doing so. If, for whatever reasons you cannot stay, then naturally go and be happy elsewhere. I’ve taught for 44 years through many trials and tribulations and 95% of the kids were worth it. Not the parents, but I stayed focused on what mattered. Looking back it’s a fantastic career but obviously not for everyone.
Wow! It definitely feels like the end of an era. Congratulations! I know it's scary, but growth often is. I'll watch you wherever you are. Looking forward to continuing your journey! xoxo
I left the school system in 2009 after my youngest child graduated high school. I saw the changes back then. Couldn't imagine doing it now. I wish you luck in your new adventures
Now finishing my 7th year of teaching. Don’t blame you at all for leaving. I’m not sure how much longer I will stick around. It’s a mess here in the US. And I’m in the Northeast… I feel like it’s worse in southern states like Florida and Texas. Congratulations on leaving and you have plenty of talents to use in other jobs. Also, you aren’t completely unemployed - your TH-cam job still counts!
Sorry to hear you're struggling! Teachers are underrated 😢 I'm 50 and still every so often smile from memories of some really great teachers I had growing up❤
Happy last day of teaching! I know it’s bittersweet. You have touched a lot of kids along the way and the future will be just as successful. I love watching your vlogs, so if it’s on this channel or another, I will watch! Best of luck to you in this new chapter! You know I will be cheering you along and offering moral support.
I retired last year from a job where I had worked for 26 years. I understand the bittersweet feelings although I wasn’t in what i would determine as an abusive situation. I loved my career but I’ve reached the age where my energy and enthusiasm was waning. I worry about what is happening in the workplace now, not just with teachers but across the board. I’ll subscribe to a second channel if that’s what you decide. I wish you much success and all the best to you and Paul💕
Congrats Autumn - wishing you all the best on your next adventure! 🤗 I quit a toxic job about 1.5 years ago and completely relate your abusive relationship comparison. The only thing I regret is not leaving sooner. 😅 Enjoy your unemployment - it’s a blessing to have your time to yourself for once. ❤
I wish you the best girl! Enjoy your new life with Paul and your pets! I know that feeling, remember I already reached the seventh floor. Health, joy and prosperity to both of you. Hope to see you here soon. 🎊🎉🍾🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I appreciate hearing you voice the entire range of your emotions. I too am thinking about a big job and location change. I would definitely follow you on this channel or another new one about the entire journey. Any tips or suggestions on job websites, agencies, cover letters, etc. Also moving/relocating would all interest me
Congratulations for multiply things! Congratulations for leaving a position that had become toxic for you. Congratulations for being open to envisioning a new future for yourself and Paul. Congratulations for be bold and leaving what may have been comfortable and familiar for the unknown and the wonderful possibilities that await you in your future. What you are doing is not small, but the rewards will be great!
Leaving teaching is bitter sweet. I loved teaching but it wasn’t easy. Taught for 30+ years in both UK and USA. I was ready to go but it was so much a part of my identity retiring was a really difficult decision to make. Now I can’t imagine ever wanting to go back into education. You have to reinvent yourself and build a whole new normal. I know with your brains and work ethic you will succeed in any profession. Wishing you only joy as you set out on your new adventure. 🎉
Congrats on this new chapter of your life! I’m in the process of moving from the PNW to Texas and I understand the combination of stress and excitement that comes with such a big change. I would love to see more videos on your journey as you move either here or on a separate channel.
Well now.... I have watched you for some time now, and thorough enjoy you and your channel. I would watch you on another channel if you had two. Don't over do so much that you get sick of everything. I admire you for having the patience to stay teaching this long and the guts to quit when you did. I sincerely hope that you and Paul will be happy with your new life in Oregon. You will find something that suits you. Best of luck in every aspect of your life. You will do well.
My SIL retired early from teaching (junior high English and grammar). She does private tutoring part time, but she is thriving. My sister and niece are teaching. My sister will be leaving teaching for real estate. I wish you nothing but the best moving onward and upward!
Wow Autumn I understand what your going through I am a former teacher of 22 years in the profession .I decided to quit after Covid I took a job as a Nanny . All the stress is gone from planning activities and all the worries and pressures. I’m so happy I hope you will be too! It is scary knowing your venturing into a new career path. Also a freeing feeling I wish you the best on this new endeavor. Happy for you 😀
Congratulations. I just started a new chapter in my life and it’s so exciting. I love the Oregon coast. You’re going to have a beautiful life up there.
Just saw this video and as a retired teacher (20 yrs) I perfectly understand and sympathize with you. I hope you find a rewarding career in Oregon. I loved my 34 years as a high school teacher, but the world has changed a great deal and it's not the same rewarding experience it used to be. Stay with this channel -- I bought my first Hermes because of what I learned from you.
I loved my 30+ years as an educator. If you didn’t love it, you’re doing the right thing. Do what makes you happy; you deserve that. Best of luck in your job search. Please keep us updated.
Congratulations Autumn. We are all here for you. Happy for you to start your new journey. I truly believe you will be successful at whatever you decide to do. By the way…love Paul. We all need a Paul in our lives. I just know life will be wonderful for you.
You are beginning the next new chapter of your life and it will be amazing. I would post the new content on this channel. This is your channel in your name, I would simply allow your channel to evolve and be about all the things you are doing and enjoying. Wishing you and Paul much success.
I retired last year after teaching 34 years….not the same as you, but still it wasn’t as happy as maybe it should have been. That was my identity so it was hard. I wish you the best! I would rather you keep everything on the same channel. I can pick and choose which videos to watch. Just my opinion! Thanks for your hard work!
Congratulations Autumn! I left reaching one career ago and have never looked back. They give us no choice but to move on to more steady and less abusive employment conditions. Leaving teaching ended up being the best thing that ever happened to me. The right door will open! Wishing you and Paul well.
Congratulations on your last day of teaching!!! Be positive for your future Autumn, it won’t be easy but you’ll grow and that’s healthy! Yes I’d be interested in watching your transition into Oregon vlogs. I enjoy your luxury channel as well.
Thank you for the update on your life changes. I'm so excited for you that you're going to get to move to Oregon and you're going to get to change careers. An exciting moment.
Congratulations! I know you aren't totally feeling like celebrating, but I am celebrating you! Congratulations on having the insight, courage and willingness to follow your heart, and to do the hard things to make it happen for yourself. I made two major career changes in my life so I know it isn't easy, but nothing truly worth it ever is. You're smart and capable, you've got this! Try to enjoy the process however you can, it is, as they say, the difference between ordeal and adventure❤(will happily follow your Oregon life content wherever you choose to post it)
Good luck on your new adventure. Having just done a big move to a completely different city and type of living, I know how overwhelming and stressful it can be. But, it will be worth it in the end when you’re there and settled in!
Hi Autumn & Paul, To new beginnings 🥂 With your intellect you will have no problem securing the position you want. I am truly happy for you both. I uprooted from NYC to the Pacific Northwest 21 years ago. It was hard for me because I left my grown children to start a new life with a man who was a customer from WA. Best decision of my life! I live North of the great Columbia and often vacation in Oregon. Good luck!!
It's all for the good Autumn. Yes you must have many different feelings right now but when you look back, this may be the best day of your life! Enjoy, don't stress and take it one day at a time! Baby steps!! God bless!!
Good luck to you and Paul in your new chapter. Think of it as an adventure. You are highly educated and very eloquent. You will have no problem finding a new and better job. Stay with this channel for now. Less stress. 😊❤
I like the mixed videos of purses and the vlogs but I'll watch both channels if that's what works best for you. I enjoy the vids either way. Congratulations and best of luck with your new adventure! I look forward to hearing about all of the fun stuff and new places.
Congratulations and condolences. 😍😍 Moving forward always includes mixed feelings but you and Paul will make a wonderful new life. Keep it all on a single channel, pls.
You will find your way! I have no doubt. And I would just keep all of your content on this channel. I'm a teacher in Canada and the career here seems much more respected. It's a shame the US has so many issues in the education system. I would love to hear more details about why you quit. Good luck and enjoy the journey because it will all work out beautifully.
Thank you for addressing these mistakes head-on. It's refreshing to see someone discussing the challenges teachers face when transitioning careers. Your video provides valuable guidance and encouragement. Keep up the excellent work!
Love your channel. This channel is fine. Can look back for a certain bag. This is enough . I want to say Congrats but hard to say. I retired 3 1/2 years ago after working 50 years. Yes very hard. Took me 3 years to finally adjust to this new life and new chapter. Heres wishing you all tje best in your job search. Good luck.
Congrats on your new chapter. It’s both exciting and scary. I am sure whatever you are supposed to do next will be available. Much happiness to you both on your move as well.
Hi Autumn. I left a job after 20 years I totally get the shock of it all. You still got TH-cam so technically you work a lot! 😀 tfs. I say put all on this channel.
"Good Lord"💕 Don't worry, you'll be alright. You have the courage to leave and find something better! I'm right behind you. I'm looking to make a work transition also. I get the heebie-geebies at times😉But I must go through with it. Keep us posted. I will follow on this channel or another channel, just let me know! Best wishes in this bittersweet moment. Better things are ahead🌸💕🌺
Congratulations! I have been to Oregon and PNW many times. It’s so beautiful there. I know you will be successful in any career or path you take. We will follow your adventures on this channel or a different one. Do what is best for you. Thank you for sharing part of you life with us.
I'm going through the same thing. I own my own business but wanted to go back to work for a few reasons but every job has hundreds of Applicants and so I'm getting nervous. I've been on my own full time for seven years and think I'm too stale now. It's depressing. Not sure what to do. I'm sure you will be fine but I understand. Teaching is rewarding but comes with too many problems now especially in Florida where I am. Keep your chin up ❤ Hugs. Oh, and I think this one channel is enough but I will subscribe to another one also if that's what you want to do ❤
I quit teaching 4 years ago and haven’t looked back. It’s really scary to change careers but don’t give up and you’ll get there.
I made it through 24 years. 6 years ago, when I turned 60, I was eligible to retire. The last 2 years before I retired were just awful. Expectations, the behavior, the administrators - all of it. neither would I....I would say run...run away as fast as you can....exhausting and tiring job
My daughter left teaching, she was a Special Ed teacher. We're in Maryland and she left teaching to work at Johns Hopkins Hospital where her husband works. She is so happy now, doesn't regret leaving teaching at all.
Oooh another MDer here!
What does she do there?
Md sped teacher here. What does she do?
My partner left teaching two years ago and used the same "leaving an abusive relationship" analogy. On to bigger and better things for you!
I vote to keep the content in one place where all your viewers are. Exciting times ahead but looking for a new job is hard work. Sad so many good teachers are leaving, it’s a similar situation in healthcare. I don’t know how we will recruit the next generation of teachers, doctors or nurses.

I live in Florida and refuse to even substitute after my retirement. I taught from 1974 to 2008 when teaching was wonderful! Oh, how it has changed!
I left my job in the medical field 3 years ago and moved my life 1100 miles away. It was soooo stressful but now I am on the other side of it and life is so much better!
I think you should keep all content on the one channel

As a former teacher with 2 children who are also educators, I applaud you on your decision and wish you well! We must all do what is best for us.
You did good for yourself, you got the experience and a partner now you on to the next new thing. Your still young so this is a exciting time.
Left teaching. Left Houston. Living in the PNW now. Beautiful here. Cheers!
We did the same thing!
HISD is not for the faint of heart! Thank you for your service for our children!
Congratulations Autumn! I’m in Australia and left teaching 9 years ago after 20 years. There was a million reasons I left and I’m so much better off now as a Dyslexia Interventionist. You’ve got this!
Congratulations Autumn on this new adventure.

Congratulations on having the courage to recognize a change is needed and to pursue it. I would love to watch your vlogs, wherever you post them!
Congratulations Autumn. You are a smart cookie, you will do fine in whatever you chose as your next chapter. I vote for staying on one channel.
I wish you nothing but happiness in your new journey I know it's gonna be a lot of new experiences but I know you will thrive and enjoy every moment
Stay with one channel Autumn . You don’t need the additional stress. Congratulations on your decision to change your job I have done this 4 times . You will be fine
Autumn! I’m proud of you! I left last year! This was my first full year out of the classroom and IT HAS BEEN GLORIOUS!!!! Best of luck to you! 🩷
I hate to lose another teacher. I wish you for the best in your future ❤
I am a nurse and am feeling the same way lately. Good for you for taking that leap, best wishes ❤
KEEP IT HERE!!! You are your channel!..This way we don’t miss anything, and trust me, we don’t want to miss ANYTHING!

It’s awful in Arkansas. 😢
Sorry to hear you're struggling! Teachers are underrated 😢 I'm 50 and still every so often smile from memories of some really great teachers I had growing up❤
It's a mess in Europe too.
Totally get the move to Oregon. I had the same experience. First came here in November, our rainiest month. I fell in love immediately.
Congratulations!!! Nothing like new beginnings. I quit this month too, I'm not looking back.
Congratulations, I wish you the best.
I appreciate hearing you voice the entire range of your emotions. I too am thinking about a big job and location change. I would definitely follow you on this channel or another new one about the entire journey. Any tips or suggestions on job websites, agencies, cover letters, etc. Also moving/relocating would all interest me
Congrats on your new adventures, your new life is all in front of you, enjoy it like a child on the last day of school, Cheers!
Good for you! Now you can find something else that you will love. Yes, would like to hear about Oregon. Keep it on the same channel, please.
I’m so happy
I hope you will be too! It is scary knowing your venturing into a new career path. Also a freeing feeling
I wish you the best on this new endeavor.
Happy for you 😀
Congratulations. I just started a new chapter in my life and it’s so exciting. I love the Oregon coast. You’re going to have a beautiful life up there.
I think you should keep everything on this channel. Best wishes on your upcoming move and new adventures.
Congrats Autumn!! I know how you feel, I quit my job few weeks ago too. To new beginnings 🍀🥂I vote to keep Oregon content here.
BIG congratulations Autumn! I'm looking forward to seeing your next chapter and this new journey for you and your husband.
Keep it here. I’m used to this space. Good luck with your job hunting. Wishing you the best.
Congratulations! I retired last year from a very stressful job and I am loving it!
TFS, congratulations be encouraged all things will work out😎
Congratulations on your last day of teaching!!! Be positive for your future Autumn, it won’t be easy but you’ll grow and that’s healthy! Yes I’d be interested in watching your transition into Oregon vlogs. I enjoy your luxury channel as well.
❤you will do well at whatever you decide to do.
I wish you snd Hubby the best!
Good luck Autumn, can’t wait to see your new adventures
Thank you for the update on your life changes. I'm so excited for you that you're going to get to move to Oregon and you're going to get to change careers. An exciting moment.
All the very best Autumn!!! How exciting!❤❤❤
Love the authenticity of this!
Best of luck! You deserve to be happy!
Hi Autumn & Paul,
To new beginnings 🥂
With your intellect you will have no problem securing the position you want.
Best of luck on this new journey! I would like to see your Oregon videos on this channel. I think it adds some variety. 🌸💕
Good for you! It's good to reevaluate your life and move on when you need to. You've got this!
