I don't know why, but GameFreak really seems to hate the rock type. We have no Normal/Rock type Pokemon, despite several good candidates (as you mentioned), no Ghost/Rock types, which easily could and should have been done by now (looking at you Runerigus), and the only halfway strong, 100% accuracy move for Rock types is Power Gem, which is a special move, and most Rock types are physical. Even Rock Tomb, a move with 60 base power, only has 95% accuracy.
That's why I like Smack Down so much, it has full accuracy. I get that it's a trade off but like you said 60 base power is that same as moves that ALWAYS hit like Swift. Not to mention Rock is tied for the most weaknesses so I'm not sure why they haven't just gotten rid of it yet...
So interesting detail, convergent pokemon AKA Wiglett, Wuggtrio, Toedscool and Toedscruel have typing opposite to their counterpart Diglett is a ground type, ground is weak to water, Wiglett is a water type, Tentacool is a water/poison type, water is super effective against ground and poison is super effective against grass, Toedscool is a ground/grass type
@@emperorcubone I mean yeah but individually the typing are either strong against or weak against the original species, and it's likely that's how the devs chose the typings of the convergent species, I mean there really isn't *that* much about Toedscool/Toedscruel that indicates ground type
It'd be used in so many side-by-sides comparing the changes in Pokemon art style over the years; "Look at what a Ground/Steel snake used to look like, and now THIS!"
I would give Houndstone the Ground type and access to all bone attacks. I mean its literal a skeleton dog. But I think that's my only reason to also not give him Rock.
Happy poke-tuesday! Spider one should be normal/ bug. Just to carry silk scarf in world. It help it get a powerup The grasshopper can be normal bug aswell because sound Pokemon.
I guess? I don't know, Normal/Bug seems like it needs more than just being a plain insect to me, like there should be some kind of mammalian crossover...
You're missing the point; if it were half bird, it would become Bug/Flying. Only a boring-ish mammal would be plain enough to make it Normal enough to overtake the initial Bug typing.
@@emperorcuboneno I mean normal/bug I mean it plenty weak bug (even his Evo) with no unique gimmick beside silk. Why not go out with silk gimmick and let him carry silk scarf items around. Help him stand out Similar to munchlax always carrying leftover item
@@emperorcubone You’re misunderstanding my point. Normal type does not mean mammal. Pidgey is normal/flying but it’s a bird, not a mammal. Helioptile is electric/normal but it’s a lizard, not a mammal. Tarountula could be a bug/normal type and still be a spider and not a mammal
Nymph is also the larval stage of insects that undergoes incomplete metamorphosis which nymble is (a grasshopper). It has absolutely nothing to do with fairies
I definitely have to agree with Rellor being Bug/Ground & I feel Rabsca should have been Bug/Ground instead of Bug/Psychic. Especially since we haven’t seen Bug/Ground since gen 4. Plus Bug/Ground is a better typing than Bug/Psychic.
Not to mention that we got Bug-Psychic last generation on an objectively superior Pokémon. I guarantee you that if Orbeetle and Rabsca ever have to compete for that spot, then Orbeetle will win in a landslide.
They probably didn't give Quaxly and Quaxwell a secondary Flying type because Flying resists Grass and would make Quaxly/Quaxwell no longer weak to it. Rowlet got away with having Flying type because Grass is its own primary type, and the other two starter types have neutral interactions with Flying
Honestly I think the only reason Quaxly isn’t a Flying type like Rowlet is because that would make it good against the Grass starter, which wasn’t a factor in Rowlet’s case since it WAS the Grass starter. If they hadn’t needed to keep the Rock-Paper-Scissors matchup intact, they probably would have made it dual typed.
cetitan steel because it's heavy, plane-shaped, has sharp spikes, and the grey parts on it look like metal plating. when i first saw it i thought it was part steel
Nymble has always felt like a Fighting type mon to me rather than Fairy. Heck, I figured Lokix was Bug/Fighting since it has so many kicking moves until I actually got one of my own.
Some of these are right on! I guess there's just no other way those ones could go, but that's also probably why the starters don't usually shift types when evolving, because in that scenario Sprigatito would have advantage over Quaquaval, until it evolved and became weak to it...
@@emperorcubone I'm going to be honest I chose the types in a vacuum based on lore, vibes or I thought it was cool For example Wugtrios dark because of it's dex entry and I could of chose ground for Wig and Wug but I felt like that defeated the purpose of them being "new" Pokemon
Well the point of them being "new" is kind of wasted anyway; Wiglett I can buy, but imagine instead if it evolved into the next Gyarados or something, not a pointless, nonsensical Dugtrio ripoff just for the reference that we all already got from the base stage...
For the Nacli line I would have done water, because a lot of salt is found in the ocean. This would get 1.5 stars from me, it makes sence but is silly and uneeded.
I am so happy that Dachsbun is NOT a Fairy + Fire type because a dog pastry Pokemon has been a Fakemon idea I have had since SUN AND MOON and it starts out as a Fire type and gains the Fairy type when fully evolved and it turns from baked bread into a birthday cake and I do not want Pokemon to already have an extremely similar design and typing of a Pokemon already existing.
Oh I feel your pain; I made up a Ghost/Ground sarcophagus Pokemon before Gen 5, then they made Cofagrigus and stole the typing for Golurk as well! But at least I like that Pokemon so it's not all bad...
@@emperorcubone They're shaped like earbuds because it's a cricket, so the Pokemon's design is off of music beats. That explains Lokix's legs, another place where noise is emmited from insects, as chainsaws.

I'm watching playlist, where hisui video?
So interesting detail, convergent pokemon AKA Wiglett, Wuggtrio, Toedscool and Toedscruel have typing opposite to their counterpart Diglett is a ground type, ground is weak to water, Wiglett is a water type, Tentacool is a water/poison type, water is super effective against ground and poison is super effective against grass, Toedscool is a ground/grass type
Sure, but in practice Grass and Ground together end up neutral to both Water and Poison, because they cancel out...
@@emperorcubone I mean yeah but individually the typing are either strong against or weak against the original species, and it's likely that's how the devs chose the typings of the convergent species, I mean there really isn't *that* much about Toedscool/Toedscruel that indicates ground type
3:23 it should have been the first normal bug type.
Cetitan should be Ice / Ground. Dondozo is a replacement for Whiscash so I would make Dondozo Water / Ground
7:42 ah yes moth is my favorite paldean Pokémon.
I honestly thought Tarountula was a Bug and Normal type the first time I saw it, ngl
I thought it was a shiny Lechonk, but I'd take that too...
That Tera Raid music gives me war flashbacks.
If orthworm became Ground turns into a goofy Steelix...
I was so confused when Cetitan turned out to be a pure Ice type, it always looked like Ice/Steel to me.
I struggle with a fitting secondary type for Cetitan but I agree with you 100%!
Maybe dragon.
Thanks for the video, man! btw, are you going to revisit the other series with Paldea in the near future?
Oh for sure, we'll get around to all of them at some point, this was the one I was just most excited for.
1:24 floragato makes more sense to be dark than meowscarada! Whaaaaat?!?!
Capsaikid or however you spell it could've been part fire type too, it gets it's name from capsaicin which is literally just spicy science
Happy poke-tuesday!
Spider one should be normal/ bug. Just to carry silk scarf in world. It help it get a powerup
The grasshopper can be normal bug aswell because sound Pokemon.
I guess? I don't know, Normal/Bug seems like it needs more than just being a plain insect to me, like there should be some kind of mammalian crossover...
@@emperorcubone being part normal type doesn’t have to mean mammalian, I mean look at all of the normal/flying birds
You're missing the point; if it were half bird, it would become Bug/Flying. Only a boring-ish mammal would be plain enough to make it Normal enough to overtake the initial Bug typing.
@@emperorcuboneno I mean normal/bug
I mean it plenty weak bug (even his Evo) with no unique gimmick beside silk. Why not go out with silk gimmick and let him carry silk scarf items around. Help him stand out
Similar to munchlax always carrying leftover item
@@emperorcubone You’re misunderstanding my point. Normal type does not mean mammal. Pidgey is normal/flying but it’s a bird, not a mammal. Helioptile is electric/normal but it’s a lizard, not a mammal. Tarountula could be a bug/normal type and still be a spider and not a mammal
Video idea since you enjoy the dual type stuff. An idea for a Pokémon for each dual type, both existing combos and otherwise
Hmm, I did do that a long time ago, but that was even before the Isle of Armor so things have changed since then. Maybe I could dust it off...
Nymph is also the larval stage of insects that undergoes incomplete metamorphosis which nymble is (a grasshopper). It has absolutely nothing to do with fairies
This man is fr obsessed with the ground type
Stay Grounded!!
Also none of the Bug/Ground types are particularly strong so it'd be nice to see another shot at it...
I think the Wiglett line could be poison maybe, iirc their dex entries talk about them being venomous
That would fit with the Poison types the generation being super weird...
(Why not fighting for the maschiff and mabosstiff.)
when i first heard of a "beauty guru ostrich" from rumour-leaks, I subtly hoped for a ground/fairy type
I think fairy would be great for tandemouse and mousehold
cetitan steel because it's heavy, plane-shaped, has sharp spikes, and the grey parts on it look like metal plating. when i first saw it i thought it was part steel
I should have known Emperor Cubone would have given Ground to Lechonk
Nymble has always felt like a Fighting type mon to me rather than Fairy. Heck, I figured Lokix was Bug/Fighting since it has so many kicking moves until I actually got one of my own.
Curiously, G9 introduced 2 rolling based Ground types: Iron Treads & Rello- oh w8 a minute, it's not a Ground Pkmn.
Are you going to do triple types for Paldea region?
I mean, eventually sure. It'd be a little soon to do it right after this though...
Before he starts here's my guess for the duel types or at least my opinion
Sprigatito- Fairy type - 2 stars
Floragato- Dark - 2 stars
Fuecoco- Normal - 2 star
Crocalor- Ghost - 2 stars
Quaxly- Flying- 2 stars
Quaxwell- Fighting- 2 stars
Lechonk- Ground- 2 stars Fairy- 1 star
Oinkologne- Fairy or Ground- 2 star
Tarountula- normal- - stars
Spidops- Dark - 1½ stars
Nymble- Dark- 0 stars
Pawmi- Fighting- 3 stars
Tandemaus- Fairy- 2 stars
Maushold- Fairy- 2 stars
Fidough- Normal- 1 stat
Dachsbun- Fire- 2 stars
Nacli and Naclstack- any type- 0 stars
Garganacl- fighting type- 2 stars
Charcadet- fighting- half a star
Tadbulb- flying- 0 stars
Bellibolt- water- 1 star
Maschiff and Mabosstiff- ground type- 1 star
Klawf- steel type- 1 star
Capsakid- Normal- 1 star
Rellor- ground- 3 stars
Flittle and Espathra- flying- 3 stars
Wiglett- Normal- 0 stars
Wugtrio- Dark- 3 stars
Finizen- Normal- 3 stars
Palafin zero form- Normal- 3 stars
Palafin hero form- Fighting- 3 stars
Orthworn- ground- 2 stars
Greavard- fire- 2 stars
Houndstone- Ground or rock- 2 stars
Cetoddle and Cetitan- ground type- 3 stars
Dondozo- Rock- 1 star
Dundunsparse- Ground- 3 stars
Some of these are right on! I guess there's just no other way those ones could go, but that's also probably why the starters don't usually shift types when evolving, because in that scenario Sprigatito would have advantage over Quaquaval, until it evolved and became weak to it...
@@emperorcubone I'm going to be honest I chose the types in a vacuum based on lore, vibes or I thought it was cool
For example Wugtrios dark because of it's dex entry and I could of chose ground for Wig and Wug but I felt like that defeated the purpose of them being "new" Pokemon
If they learned any Water moves I might could see it, but it would certainly help them not to be weak to Water anymore...
Domestic ducks which is the sort of duck the starter is, can't fly
Personally I think clawf could be part ground but hey it's your opinion
I think the greavard line could also be ground type since they burrow underground
Now you did this can we get the dual types if they were triple typed
I mean I kind of did that, just not for every dual type out there...
I think garganacl being a ghost type would have made sense. The typing is unused. It is literally a pyramid, which is very ghostly and mysterious.
Good, now the triple types
9:01 that was just gen one.
12:13 what? people love dudunsparce and for good reason
Tera raid battle music slaps
If you looking for a new series baby you can try making one about why the typing doesn't work to some pokémon
@@emperorcubone And then Runerigus probably rubbed salt in the wound...
You gave Crocalor normal type becaue of sound type, but not Nymble? It's a pair of earbuds.
You mean... its wings? If they were anywhere near its head I might understand, (like Tympole.)
@@emperorcubone They're shaped like earbuds because it's a cricket, so the Pokemon's design is off of music beats. That explains Lokix's legs, another place where noise is emmited from insects, as chainsaws.
Now I see it lol. A pair raycon. I also agree, cricket and grasshopper are sound base creature.
Maybe if the give it a evolution it can evolve into a punk rock locust band ( glam rock like kiss)
At least you can kinda do this with the Tera type at least I try this on some
That's true, you could make a whole team with these if you wanted!
Some great ideas.
I think that Mousehold should have more stars as a Normal/Fairy Pokemon. It could be based on the fairytale of Piper of Hamelin in that the more of mouse join over time so I would sugest 2 star rating because well, they are literally straight out of fairytale.
Mabostiff could be fighting because it is a guard dog or fairy for its caring nature
I’m sorry…
RELLOR??
FORGETTABLE?
rabsca is tied for my favorite new Pokémon
amazing shinies for them both, great type, very strong, fun design, and just all around big love
great video! however i have to point out that nymble being named after a "nymph" probably refers to an immature grasshopper or locust. those are called nymphs
Good morning it’s been a while, sometimes I wish the dual types wouldn’t effect it as -referring to Charcadet; because I got smacked when it gained the typing, had you done where you showcased your thoughts on Paldea?-
how did garganacl get normal and why 2 and 1/2 star? paldean tauros and palafin made more sense and you gave them less
I swear to arceus, I thought cetitan WAS part water...
That happens a lot in this series...
nymph means larva equivalent of an insect that doesn't go through metamorphosis
7:15 bro made most pokemons fans angry because of luxray
Cetoddle & Cetitan are the "Terra Whale Pokémon"...
Make them Ice/Ground, just like the OTHER "Land Shark Pokémon", Gible/Gabite/Garchomp, being Ground/Dragon...
And people said I make things Ground too much! No but really, I suppose I good see that, maybe if they learned Ground by levelup or were anything more than white it'd be easier to picture, but I do love the typing on Swinub so I could see it...
@@emperorcubone
Even in my own re-typing endeavors lol, I leave them pure Ice, because they don't look like they fit any Type.
Nah wugtrio is a fun concept and a goofy design goofy in a fun way
I had no idea Dondozo wasn’t already dragon type
I feel like a lot of pokémom are mistyped as Fighting purely because Fighting is the hot type in Japan. There was one of the recent legendaries who absolutely should have not been fighting type. I can't remember who it was, but dragon/fairy made the most sense and it was dragon/fighting
