Major props to this guy. He could have retired a rich man having made a career from his looks and his voice, (and a damn good bass player as well) but he continues growing as a musician and doing really fine work. Well done sir.
Retired a rich man?? Are you serious. I don't think Winger was that successful as a rock band to allow him to retire (especially retire rich). As for his looks I'll take your word for it because I'm not gay. As for his classical music, I'm impressed ... it's certainly a lot better than "She's only 17". I always liked the symphonic parts in Winger songs such as "Hungry" or "Headed for a Heartbreak", but I thought that had more to do with keyboardist Paul Taylor. Maybe Kip should co-write his next piece with Paul.
I purchased WInger's debut CD in August of 1988, my senior year in high school. I have continued to enjoy that initial album to this day (my eldest daughter is Madeline, and also loves the song so close to her name), and to appreciate how much more complex many of the songs actually were, and so well thought out and developed musically. I have challenged naysayers over the decades as to how Winger was comprised of some of the most talented leads of any other group. And to now have this Kip Winger composed classical CD on the way from Amazon, and to appreciate his classical training and his ability to move so elegantly from Winger to this, simply buttresses my awareness that I have been right all these years. Thank you Kip Winger.
This is very awesome. I have been into kip's 80s metal with winger, and learned in a interview with sweetwater about his involvement with classical music. Very very cool. Kip is a all around talented musician. Im definitely a big fan.
The human psyche continues to baffle me. Why wouldn't those that viewed this video thumb it up? I appreciate the fact that Kip took the time to upload the video & share. In addition, it's an interesting & enjoyable video. It's like society's scales aren't balanced anymore. They're definitely leaning more towards being nasty negative. Everyone should make daily attempts to do something/anything nice for someone. Took the time to express my concerns on this video but I see it everywhere. What are we becoming? Kip, thanks. Love this & hope you'll continue to share. Edit = came back because I'm going to take the time to listen to the entire CD. Also, just wanted to say that I really like James Horner. Love his music from "Legends of the Fall". Sure wish he was still around.
wow....great composition....so awesome to see creatives from the pop world with all these beautiful gifts in the classical realm. Im trying to get some of my works together and ready for performance. of course i need an orchestra willing to oblige me. LoL!!....Cheers, to you kip!
And to think @Lars Ulrich had the guts to make fun of him!?🤯🤦♂...Lars Ulrich could NEVER in this lifetime do what this man has done musically. Lars Ulrich = WAY LESS talented than Kip Winger!...sorry...but it is what it is! 🤷♂
@@lysanamcmillan7972or for those for whom there is room for all of it. Like me. I find it fascinating that someone who came to be known to the public through a band like Winger is also a composer with an ear for atonality. So cool.
From pussyboy flash in the pan rockstar to boring orchestral composer...oh boy... מיר דאַרפֿן דעם באָבקעס ווי אַ לאָך אין די קאָפּ I think it's wonderful that Kip was able to reinvent himself and learn the mechanics of music, arranging, orchestration and conducting? However, regardless of the musical genre, the HITS are the HITS... This sounds to me like half a penny a dozen orchestral rubbish... Tchaikovsky, Grieg, Dvorak, Gounod, Rossini, Souza, Elgar, Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, etc., these guys all banged out the hits... More importantly, in a world where music has been free for twenty years, nobody wants physical CD's anymore and classical, jazz and blues music, etc., have ALWAYS been a very small % of the total music buying market. I just don't see a big market for this... I can't see why any record label would want to invest in this? Unless of course, it's going to be in the next Star Wars movie...? If Kip invested his own money, well then, he's just indulging himself... He'll probably be eating all those CD's he pressed for breakfast...yum yum yum... If I had only been given the chance I earned and deserved, I'd put ALL OF YOU in your place...
I really can't see your point.. You realize he's selling it digitally, like any artists today? People don't really need record labels to promote themselves. If he pressed some physical copies, it was probably in small quantity for people who will actually be interested in buying it, and nobody really cares if you're not one of them because.. "These are not THE HITS" lol
Justin, a computer keyboard isn't an orchestra, bro. But you can use it to score music. Life isn't about putting other people in their place. It's about putting yourself in YOUR place. And finding your space. So what's stopping you?
Justin Andrews I don’t think he was a flash on the pan. His guitar play is epic. Just because winger didn’t have hit singles after the first album doesn’t mean mean you can deny his ability. Songwriting was poor but he was a great musician.
Justin Andrews As the master said to the student.....if you had what you desired, and then what?.......something else, and then what? And if you think your masculinity needs proven or tested, come find me. I’ll be at a certain marathon event in southern Missouri around the 21st of November, 2020. I’ll champion Kip, see your insult and repay your insolence with a physical test of will. See ya there.
Must be a wonderful feeling to hear your music come to life!

Rick Beato's 61'st birthday video brought me here. Great music.

Same here, always knew he wrote intelligibly...
It wasn't his music we hated.... it was his super massively cheesy lyrics and strutting around like a gay male model.

very proud of this rockstar Maestro!

Absolutely right. 1 percent likes is crazy in relation to beautiful art. Sad world
So very happy for my very 1st band mate from RRFC! This is fabulous! I hope I get to see it live!💙💚💜🎵🎶🎻🎺🎹
Just discovered this composer's work for orchestra. I love it!!! Thanks.
Fantastic work Kip, love it.
Nijinsky piece should be in StarWars. Sounds right up their alley. Hello Mr John Williams 😀
The new winger album is bad ass too
Congratulations, Kip! You're amazing, as always.
BREATH TAKING This guy is GIFTED!
Sounds wonderful, even with just these snippets~
Puts me into a Mahler state of mind.

Wow!!!! what was it like when you heard it all together for the first time?
He was live tonight in Facebook did any you guys watch I managed to get a hi from him
I watched him, and ordered the CD off his website.
He is a musical genius ❤
Amazing!!!
AWESOME and CONGRATS! Might there be a bit of John Williams influence in there as well?
Im ordering NOW
This music is very good, i love it! Kip is extremely talented, been a Winger fan since their second album in 1990 =)
Here I was expecting headed for a heartbreak 2. I love that song but this is even more impressive.
He is like Jon Lord.
Wow!
Great use of harmony.
Dude.. this ain't no "17"
Always wished Kerry Livgren would have written a classical symphony. I guess we have to settle for a cantata..
Fuckin' excellent!!!

why
Who the F' is KIP WINGER?
Kip. Sweetie. Why the fuck would I listen to this when I could listen to Mozart or Mahler
Because then you’d be a narrow, musically ignorant twit. Is there no room for anyone besides Mozart and Mahler? What an idiotic point of view… sweetie
So do that and quit shitting on people who are willing to listen to composers who haven't been dead for 500 years.
