Green Day delayed coming out to allow the crowd to sing the whole song respect to them for that. I love that it happened in Hyde Park where we had their great free concert in the 70s when the vast majority of this crowd weren’t born

Music is life to the British, it holds til death, this is an unofficial national anthem. Freddie is still beloved by millions. We don't need organising to sing, we will sing for any reason, good, bad, or indifferent.the Brits appear to many as reserved, we're just sussing the out situation.
Greenday had done this many times before, and loved the crowds reaction it's now become a Green day tradition, the original footage here was taken and uploaded by the band as a "thank you" & "look at our fans, aren't they're brilliant"

How cool was that!!!!!!! I definitely would have loved to be there that day... I'm sure Freddy Mercury heard that in Heaven and smiled down on the crowd. Queen were (one of) if not the first band to make a song especially for audience involvement - "We will rock you". Queen lived for the feedback from their crowds! They ALWAYS knew how to get them going. This was so beautiful, and it really touched my heart that so many years after Freddie's death people still do this. I've always been a big Queen and Freddie Mercury fan. Thanks for this! We have to find you a Queen song that you don't know for a reaction. So, how was the Green Day concert lol...

This wasn't orchestrated. Green Day are big Queen fans, and they play Bohemian Rhapsody over the loudspeakers before every concert. It's become a tradition for the crowd to sing the song, given that everybody knows it so well. I'd love to see this; in fact, I'd buy a ticket just to be in that crowd before the show, and sing that song at full volume with 10,000 other people. I can't help imagining how utterly chuffed Freddie would be to see thousands of people singing his song nearly 30 years after his death. It's all he ever wanted - to be a legend.

So glad you got the good "vibe" from it! Loved the reaction, it's fantastic to see a crowd of strangers come together like that. Like you said, the synchronicity was amazing. If that can't make a person smile, I don't know what will. Unusual request for sure in that it wasn't a musician/band, but hoped and was glad you enjoyed! There was a ray of sunshine coming through the clouds in the beginning - I'd like to think that was Freddie looking down and smiling at everyone.

When Freddie left us he left a Hole in the Fandom. Since then audiences planet wide have been singing. Legend says if enough people sing at the same time this song that Freddie will manifest. Fans have been trying since.

thanks, Rogue - this was extraordinary -- bored crowds may do lots of disruptive or even violent things... but in this case, they all recognized a beloved song, and joined together... it's SO Freddie - he always involved the audience.. I think I read that Green Day was ready to go out, but recognized the "moment" and let the people finish... I'm quite sure they put on a great show -- but this concert will always be remembered more for the "Queen sing-along" than for Green Day's show - lol

Regarding Freddie and the audience, I know the whole 1985 Live Aid performance was incredible - but when he had them in a frenzy on "Radio Ga Ga", it's give me goosebumps every time. Really wish I was born earlier sometimes to have been able to see some of these legends.

Queen just transcends everything. This wasn't even a Queen crowd. They were they to see Greenday. Plus, 2017!! Freddie had been dead over a quarter of a century.

Hiya Royce! Great reaction as always! The true mind bender here... Freddie passed away in 1991, most of this crowd from 2018 hadn't even been born!!!! Keep digging! We'll keep watching!!!

Brits exit the womb knowing every word of BoRhap. Green Day played this song before every concert in 2017. There are other concert vodeos but this one in London is the best.

Freddie Mercury was so great at many things... One was involving the audience in the concert... Crowd participation... Decades later this crowd nailed it... I'm pretty sure he'd appreciate it.. Great reaction, take care young lady.

Green Day deserve huge credit for enabling this at many of their concerts. It gets the crowd in a really great mood and then they come on and reap the rewards - winner winner chicken dinner!!
