I think as far as the new exterior design goes.. Honda went back to the more conservative late 90s early 2000s .. Honda has deep roots with this car! It s there baby.. and I think inside the company over the past 50 years or so with the civic there’s a lot of pride.. the 10th generation did deviate for Honda’s design language.. i think they just wanted to get back to basics.. Honda design
Excellent review George. You reviewed it in a very fair and objective way. I reached out to Honda dealerships near me and they're all charging 5K over MSRP for 2022 Civics when you include dealer installed accessories and ADM. So I'm thinking of buying a Camry instead since base Camry's seem to be cheaper than Civics after discounts. Thanks again for the info.
Don't get a Ridgeline it has one of the worst sound systems and is not worth the money for what you get, I would recommend the civic or an suv like a Acura mdx they are actually worth it even most acura sedans all have super handling awd so it wouldn't hurt to check out the TLX a spec
@@2004cyrus Haha good luck with those repair bills. Either a Civic or Corolla if you want a small car. Mazda is all about looks but they suck on reliability.
@@fireheartgames Ben! How many Mazda’s have you owned? This is easily the most uninformed comment I’ve ever taken the time to reply to. After I laughed my butt off, I started to reply here. I don’t know where to start with you. I’ve owned the 2 brands you mentioned, nothing spectacular but not bad, not as good as any of my Mazda’s. I’m a young guy. So you can say I don’t have the experience to make these claims, and you’d be arguably correct. But, my folks, a couple of my grandparents and countless older siblings and friends of mine have been buying and leasing Mazda’s over and over since the mid 80’s, and for 2 decades of my life I’ve heard praise from them about Mazda’s. I’m on my first new Mazda CX-5 but I’ve had 5 hand me down Mazda’s with anywhere from 70,000 miles to upwards of 200,000 miles. Aside from a starter and an alternator on a couple to regular brakes and maintenance and the usual, I’ve not had problems or complaints. We all maintain our vehicles. And for the older friends and relatives, they get their Mazda’s new. I’ve watched countless Mazda videos, and there is always 1 like you out of thousands that bash Mazda and elevate the other 2. Grandma bought a couple of Toyota Camrys over the years and the transmissions were awful and had warranty work. A cousin of mine had a couple of Honda Air conditioners go out and some power seat issues. If me and my family had problems with Mazda’s, we would not keep buying them. My family is educated and mostly professional. I grew up with our other cars being Lexus. Yet my dad loves leasing Miatas, mom loves her CX-9’s. And they can easily buy or lease whatever. My graduation gift from graduate school is this CX-5. It’s built in Japan and feels great. I’ve got the ventilated seats and heads up display and other goodies like heated back seats and heated steering wheel and a heated lower front windshield that prevents wipers from freezing up. Again it’s a lease, if it breaks it’s not my problem but I’ll be shocked if it does. But all mechanical things may fail. But I think your comment is absolutely against anything that 99% of Mazda owners will tell you. I gather you dated a girl in your past that bought a $4000 used POS Mazda that was never maintained and then she drive it into the ground and never put oil in it. And you latched onto that story and distributed and recycle that. Now if you meant to say Chevy or Chrysler and accidentally typed Mazda, then I would have agreed 10000%. Be well.
@@2004cyrus To be honest none lol. I am just going by Scotty Kilmore and my Uncle Bill. Both of them are master mechanics by the way. I had to edit and say yes I agree Chevy and Chrysler suck really bad. They are just as bad as Nissan and Kia, and yes I have owned both Nissan and Kia and wish I have never bought either one of them. Oh and don't buy Hyundai either. That's another crappy brand I have owned. Since getting a Honda Accord I have been a big fan of Honda.
The slightly sharkish nose-edge is nice...but the vent joysticks need to go. They're a visual assault on a pleasant dash design and will be prone to accidental breakage from kids and other mishaps.
It is amazing how much technology is packed in new vehicles compare to 30 years ago but yet they cannot build newer vehicles that will outlast cars built 30 years ago… this is a reflection how low standard people are putting up with auto manufacturers. They are all wired with so many computers and inferior Turbo engines and GDI engines which will carbon up in no time.
Well they have warranties. I lease my cars because I don’t care to own my cars. I budget a payment and don’t have to worry about maintenance because come 36k miles it’s time to turn it in.
@@Thankyou_3 I don’t agree, depreciation costs people money. So whether people believe it or not, they are making a car payment even if they pay cash upfront. Because that car is losing value.
@@2004cyrus I don’t know which country you are from but up in North America it’s different. Most people hang onto cars for long time. My last Lexus was 19 years when I had sold it which had 9 buyers called me for it. My 1993 Honda Accord sold it after 20 years in 2003, these are the good old days for Honda. My current Toyota i am anticipating to keep at least 20 more years. If I lease it will cost me triple amount of money. Leasing is for rich people. 😂
Love both of your channels George. Great content. Was looking forward to this review. Plan on getting the Touring trim in sonic grey pearl soon. Thanks for this great review.
If you updated your title to ash grey interior, you will get triple the views. Great review of the civic. I just ordered the exact same one, but..on yours, you said there is no rear usb but online and the one I ordered said that there will be rear usb, so that's weird
interesting to see how they style the new type R, the current one looked too boy racer for my taste. Those A/C vent knobs look like projectiles waiting to happen in a collision :)
No xm radio unlike the 10th generation Ex model had one in it 2017 I did get a Ex model of the 11th generation they still haven’t received them yet still waiting

Hahaha I like it. People criticize Hyundai’s Elantra for having too many angles in the panels. Or Mazda’s new hatchback for having a blind spot. Then a manufacturer plays it safe and it’s called bland. I don’t think bland is a bad thing in this case.

It's crazy how this is the same size as my old 93 accord from back in the day.
Last year I got a great deal a 2018 Elantra turbo with 17k miles. Surprisingly fun to drive

3:53 something missing……
i don't get why you're saying 11th gen has more power than the previous gen, it's the same engine and same horsepower.
6 more HP, 2020 had 174 hp with the same engine. Now its at 180 hp.
Yes more horsepower do your research before you blurt out misinformation
