I searched the whole internet for another male singer, there were 2 more singers who sang this song but none of them sang the climax part. I'm not saying women did bad, I'm saying because Dimash is a male singer he probably did better.

Laura workman almost hit it flawlessly. She stood out among all of them by a long shot. She also had the most control over her vibrato and moving from breathey to head voice. It really goes to show that she's possibly the least known out of all these singers but definitely the most talented for this specific song.
She stood out, because of the earplug you idiot....she had the song going in her ear in case you didn't notice....no talent whatsoever....Jane Zhang did it on a stage in a concert hall, Laura in a studio with an earplug, while the song was going on in her ear....CHEATING HELLOOOOOO
She stood out among all of them as she was the only one with the earphone running the original simultaneously....are you fucking blind? even then she was struggling....Laura Workman is not only the last, but shouldn't even be considered.....

One of the things that makes this song so difficult, in addition to the insanely high notes, is the wide range. Usually singers that can hit the high notes aren't likely to do the low notes well. That, and the slide from low to high is crazy diffiuclt and only Laura Workman truly nailed it without throwing vibrato in to cover up the break.

Staccato is what makes it difficult, such wide range is not so rare, and that Laura just fooled you all by playing original track from movie loud enough and not singing even half of notes lol

Laura was definitely the closest to exact timing to singing and hitting the notes. I also liked Jane performance. You can see that she didn't struggle where others did. Both of the ladies gave me the chills singing this particular song.

The piece was written to be physically impossible to sing to give it a futuristic and alien-like quality and yet several performers have shown that with determination and passion for their craft, nothing is impossible!

Laura Workman was the one came closest to the original, it really was quite clean and Dimash did his versions but it fit him well considering that he is a man and that he sings in the soprano register. 😉

Laura is the closest to the original, the most precise, you hear every note and every note is perfect. SO she wins in my opinion (I remember watching her as Disney Diva when she posted that, back when I was in college and being in AWE). Jane Zhang is also pretty brilliant, and Jenn would be my third place (does she not NAIL that low to high slide up?). Special shout out to Dimash tackling it and doing so well.

Dimash singing Opera Number Two was actually a far more impressive effort as it was long, relentless and building, hard enough to give anyone a sore throat.
@@efraing5264 It's called doing his own version of it, doesn't necessarily make it any easier for instance, Dimash nailed the bottom notes better than the female singers could hope to. A better test than even Diva Dance, is Opera Number Two which has consistent high and building notes that Dimash is incredible at singing.

If you think that Dimash sings the same notes, you're clearly not a singer or seem to have very good hearing for that matter as not being able to tell the difference between autotune and someone who can actually sing, indicates. If you knew the first thing about Dimash's background, you'd know that both his parents are top class opera singers, that he's had intensive voice and singing training since he was five years old for twenty years, that he's also a top class player of several instruments including drums and piano that he began learning at five showing a very good ear for chords.
He even did two different university music courses, one for classical and one for contemporary singing. He could perform adequately and proficiently in any opera. He's probably about the most experienced and educated singer for his age on the planet. I've seen professional opera singers and voice coaches who have no idea how he can do some of the things that he does but you get that with true genius, people who have it find a way to do what others can't do at all.
He has absolute pitch perfect hearing and voice control which is more than I can say for you if you're so clueless about just how incredible Dimash is as a singer but as with most things, the less informed someone is, the less they realize just how amazing this singer is. You kind of notice that after watching about 500 reactions to his song "SOS" for instance.
While all of them did an incredible job, and I agree that the 3 you mentioned are the best, I think Laura and Dimash kinda "cheated".
Laura had the original playing under her singing, obscuring mistakes she might have made, and for Dimash the background music pretty loud, and his version was also modified to be slightly easier.
Dimash used multiple highs in a row instead of high to low to high.
Jane did it the cleanest, the music isn't hiding anything.

My favorite touch about the alien is that she has that giant loop on the back of her head and you can imagine the role that might play in hearing for her species.
Laura Workman, but that anybody can even approximate that run with their own voice is an insane accomplishment. I'm equally impressed by anyone that can move up from that lower register note to the high falsetto without their voice cracking. I mean, I've seen drag queens bring the house down just managing to wrap their lipsync around those notes (it really is quite something to see).

1- This song is impossible for a human voice
2- All of them were singing in front of a camera and/or a crowd, which makes you feel more nervous

I think Laura's my fav (although there's a few close contenders). Major props to Eugenia for being the only one to separate the notes out at 2:12. That would have been so difficult which is probably why the others tend to slide over them instead.

For me (pure personal preferences) there is one clear winner: Dimash. That guy is, hands down, in a class of his own. His interpretation is so intense, so vibrant, so powerful... a feast for the ears (and the eyes, too). His voice range is insane, clean and sharp in the lowest as well as in the highest tones - absolutely amazing and superior to the female competition (which struggles/gets bland in the lower tones). Besides him, I liked Laura and Jane most.
He sang it a minor third down so he didn't exactly reach the high notes most other female singers did. His low wasn't actually that low either. Not to mention he altered it to avoid some of the harder parts. He was talented and entertaining, but not quite the best rendition at all imo.

That's all he needs and that's why he is million times more famous than all of the women in this video!

He did the low register wrong...he didn't even scale up in pitch. He also failed to fluctuate pitches at the most critical part of the diva dance. He did a good job, dont get me wrong but hes definitely not the best one if we are trying to see who can replicate the pitch fluctuations.
@@AA-in6bm I personaly think that dimash replicated It the Best but i agree that he maessed up the low pitched parts, not in a way that would make it sound bad, but yet not exactly as the original. Also in the very fast Part he sang a triplet instead of the harder to perform notes of the original.

The best is refering to replication to the original and others singers were much closer than him. He may sound great and thats a subjective measure but objectively speaking... he was one of the furthest from the original.
Laura was the only one that managed to hit every note correctly in both tune and tempo.
Anwargheddon Jane Zhang also hit every note, in tempo, and her vocal trill was actually punctuated and not just a slide. Laura also had the actual song playing in the background which made it impossible to hear if she alone was actually hitting the notes. Especially because she got VERY soft during the vocalizing.

Done with a synthesizer? No, it wasn't. The 'impossible' staccato isn't impossible because people can't hit the notes. Inva most certainly could. The impossible part about it was being able to transition so clearly and quickly between the notes. They recorded her hitting the notes and spliced it together to create that beautiful piccolo-sounding staccato.

Ok Laura's performance is in fact the closest to the real thing if not spot on... Jane makes me ache when i see her - i am afraid she will either burst or miss a note or something... she is correct but i do not enjoy it... Dimash's version (the Bastau one) is by far my favorite although he does change the original in two different parts. I would love to hear him hit the original notes but his performance is by far my favorite - standing ovation every time.

I think people in the reactions have forgotten one thing, Dimash is the only guy in the video! He's the only guy in the world who can ever get to that level and sing like that! So it's true that he was not very similar to the original, but to be honest, I prefer his version! Dimash was awesome and since it's the only man in the world with these vocal abilities, I think it gives him a small bonus, so dimash sang thet the best!

Every performance is worth to hear. In my opinion Eri Sasaki and Jhane Zhang come very close to the original. Dimashs voice at the end is insane for a man. If you listen to the original you can hear that they added parts technically. But yes some of them come very close.
Laura Workman was definitely the closest. I love how you can tell who has the actual range. I also noted that several people were trying to do a vocal rendition of it instead of attempting to mimic a synthesizer/keyboard. In trying this song, if you wanna get close you have a higher chance of hitting those strange notes if you've done acapella. Cause vocalizing the Diva Dance is more mimicry, rather than singing.

I personally like Jane zhang better than dimash because she seems to have better control of her voice and sounded more operatic,but I also love dimash’s version.props on dimash for being a man and singing a song that was created for a female voice.
