- In this video you`ll see how the actors of the movie ''Where Eagles Dare (1968)'' have changed. You`ll know their real names and age. I will show you how they looked then, and what's with them now, in 2023.
Where Eagles Dare is a 1968 war film directed by Brian G. Hutton and starring Richard Burton, Clint Eastwood and Mary Ure. It follows a joint British-American Special Operations Executive team of paratroopers raiding a castle (shot on location in Austria and Bavaria). It was filmed in Panavision using the Metrocolor process, and was distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Alistair MacLean wrote the screenplay, his first, at the same time that he wrote the novel of the same name. Both became commercial successes.
The film involved some of the top filmmakers of the day and is considered a classic.[4] Hollywood stuntman Yakima Canutt was the second unit director and shot most of the action scenes; British stuntman Alf Joint doubled for Burton in many sequences, including the fight on top of the cable car; award-winning conductor and composer Ron Goodwin wrote the film score; and future Oscar-nominee Arthur Ibbetson worked on the cinematography.

And the female cast don't count: Mary Ure (1933-1975) and Ingrid Pitt (1937-2010) both beautiful and outstanding actresses. RIP.

No one seems to know what a female is anymore.😪
Perhaps it might it might be more gallant to remember them as they were ….beautiful .
Thank you for saying what I was thinking. And thank you for adding the missing information, one of the other actors died fairly recently as well - played one of the high up German military in the film - which was reported when it happened, earlier this year.
Mary Ure and Ingrid Pitt were exceptional actresses who left a lasting impact on the industry. May they rest in peace, forever remembered for their talent and beauty.
NOW that was a movie. None of the shit like there is today. No such thing as CGI back then or blue screen. These guys worked for a living.

Just the cable car view and back of the bus oh and the rear projection with the staff car and motorbike and sidecar. But I get what you mean 👍🏻
Absolutely! Old-school movies like that were made with true dedication and craftsmanship. No reliance on CGI or fancy effects, just pure talent and hard work.
You have a knack for creating interesting and entertaining content. Looking forward to future videos.
What a great movie.
Yeah the movie is great fun.
Apart from Mary and Ingrid you also missed out Anton Diffring, Patrick Wymark, William Squire and Donald Houston.
There is a very good biography on Wikipedia about Anton Differing and why he left Germany because he hated the Nazis. Conrad Veidt another great German actor also left Germany for similar reasons. They are both worth a read.
@@anthonyscott4270 thanks for the info
@@ellenthorne8222 You are welcome Ellen.
Thank you for pointing out the additional actors. It's impressive to see such a talented ensemble cast in the film.
Brilliant film

Brilliant film , Vincent Ball , one of my favourite actors . No mention of the female stars , why ?
Incredible to think Vincent Ball is 100!
Thank you for commenting on the video
Inherent misogyny perhaps? Or did they think no one would remember Ure and Pitt?
Vincent Ball's performance was indeed exceptional, but it's important to recognize the contributions of the entire cast, including the female stars. Their performances added depth and significance to the film.
Peter barkworth was my fathers best friend at Manchester grammar, in the 1940’s!
Broadsword to Danny Boy, Broadsword to Danny Boy
But the most tragic was Mary Ure. The British, spy who jumped last in to Germany. She died in about 1973. When she was 34 I think. So sad. Heidi actress ingrid Pitt, the gorgeous brunette, died at 77 I think.

Mary Ure, wife of Robert Shaw- "Quint" of "Jaws" fame, yes, that affected him deeply.
She was 42 and died in 1975. Robert Shaw died 3 years later of a heart attack.
@@BeachsideHank it deeply affected Robert Shaw who had been dealing with alcoholism before her death became a recluse but he remarried to his 3rd wife in 1976 and was making films up until his death in 1978 while on vacation from location shooting from a film he was working on and was driving with his wife when began having chest pains and stopped the car. He got out to try work out the pain and collapsed and died.
Indeed, the untimely passing of Mary Ure at a young age was tragic. Ingrid Pitt's beauty and talent will be remembered. May they both rest in peace.
*Vincent Ball a century of life. A toast from Brazil for You. Rubens Leffer De Liz Santos, Florianópolis, SC.*
Not a good ending. Video needs to be re-edited. Ended with missing actresses.

Time and tide waits for no man, great film classic don’t make them like they used too
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Would have been much better if you had covered a lot more of the actors especially the females!
Thank you for the comments on our video
It would have been great to see more coverage of the female actors. Their contributions to the film deserve recognition too.
Vincent Ball is only 99. He won’t actually be 100 until December.
Clint Eastwood is still only 92. He won’t turn 93 until May 30th.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
LOL
The moving clips, not put togeather very well. They are all in reverse, just look at they uniforms. So where are the ladies, and Patrick Wymark, Anton Diffring. Shoddy presentation.

Pity about the music being too loud and out of balance with the speech, but it does help to cover up the AI voice over
Should I added the female cast

No women and no patrick wymark for gods sake!!!

not 100 yet, 8 more months to go....
😍😍😮😮😮
I always wonder where the plane rescuing them flew to… Switzerland?
Quite possibly. It was set in the Bavarian Alps. The aircraft itself, a Junkers 52/3m, she was still very active up until very recently. Registered as HB-HOT with Swiss airline JuAir she sadly crashed in August 2018 killing all 20 passengers and crew
@@coops206 oh that is very sad. But what I meant was, in the film, where are they supposed to be flying to, in order to escape? I mean everything else in the film is so realistic 😂😂😂😂😂so this minor attention to detail should be revealed!!! 😊
Rather sloppily put together, sections cut off mid-stream, AI-generated narration.....
Missed the ladies ?????
What about the women? Just sexist, or too lazy to research them?
