Appreciate the honesty in the "fishing" not "catching" aspect. Gotta brush them days aside and jus be thankful for being able to enjoy the outdoors and the fishing lifestyle
I know that crossing, its one of my favorites. It took me awhile to figure out. What worked best for me is a bead head woolly booger in olive, stripped upstream in moving water that I tie for just that area.
I got skunked this weekend on the pedernales, it was so hot and nothing was going on but one carp I saw blow by as I disturbed his area. Still nice to get out and fish, its just so dang hot right now!
My wife and I did a floated the other night on the Madison , nada . I waded late morning for about two hours , epic PMD hatch first four casts three nice fish and it just got better . Ya never know until you go :-). Thanks for Sharing and keep doing what you do .
Glad you persisted.🙂 I caught a few bass Monday but got skunked yesterday, not a tap. Saw some big Carp but I couldn’t get a fly to them. Cool bike..I’m going to check in on something similar. Great video! Thanks Alvin 👍👍
Once again, thank you 🙏. I get off shift here in a few hours and headed straight to water. Not even worried if I catch fish or not. Just want to catch a good time out on the water. 👍
Killer rig! I'm in the area visiting for a couple of months, and I've been using a 50cc Vespa knockoff to shuttle myself for floats in my Water Master Grizzly. Pretty sweet solo setup for skinny hill country waters!
I didn't care for the small bass back in may after I caught some big ones, but then the big ones quit bitting, and trying to use sink tip & sinking line & other flies on the lake I live on, I found I could still catch the small ones with a wooly bugger, and was then glad to get them, I have decided to chase those big ones with a craw pattern, I have a minnow trap off the end of my dock hoping to catch a crawfish and note color & size, flymen fish skull fly tying kit for fish skull crawdaddy is in the mail, containing enough material to make 8 flies. hoping to use it and sink tip to get a few more big ones..............
I love these types of videos! Great camera work and the audio was fantastic. I was out on a small creek by the house on the 4th too. I had my Honda 90, aka Air Fish One. 😂
Thanks for keeping the name of the river secret. I love to go there for the solitude. BTW the fishing there has been dismal this year...perhaps the drought has had an affect on the fish population.
People don’t realize how hard fishing is in Texas in July and august on the fly. Almost as tough as December and January. Texas heat is rough on everything
Cool fishing bike. It’s illegal to drive motorized vehicles in river beds, but I wonder if your bike counts. I know the exact spot where you were fishing. I haven’t caught much there in recent years, except when they stock it with trout.
Hey Alvin, do you fish barbless hooks when you target bass or saltwater fish? I always use barbless for trout, but didn’t know if they’re needed since I’ve started fishing for smallmouth on the fly. Keep up the good work!
Not really out where I was it's pretty remote and I did park the bike in the brush. The steering and the battery are lockable and the bike won't start if the key fob isn't near.
Sometimes you just got to admit it!
Whether you land’n em or not, nothin like that fly! “I’m done” them wham!

Well said!
You have some of the clearest, high quality audio in your videos. Keep up the good work man
I appreciate that!

That's funny because I used that exact pattern and bot a couple after I turned the camera off!

Yeah it's pretty much early morning and then go home!
That’s some of my favorite waters to hit. Small tribs need love too! 👍🏼
You got that right!

As always, thanks for watching Charlie!

Yup, gonna be doing some shuttles with it as well.
Love the honesty with this - it's great to get out, the fish are a bonus!
I agree just getting out is what's it all about. The fish is just bonus. Plus my casting is getting better. Keep up the great videos!!!
Thanks! Will do!

always love your attitude Alvin!

Thanks for watching, had a few issues with the audio, but it worked out in the end.
Love that ebike! Perfect for a solo fishing trip. That is my kind of fishing!
You and me both! Except a few more fish next time.
Love your videos! And that’s one cool looking creek!
Thanks 👍
Man that creek looked juicy though!!
It is!
I've lost fish on the clinch knot (due to line stretch, the tag will slip out.) I'm a improve clinch guy now.
Whatever you have the best luck with is the best knot.
You got me. That is EXACTLY what I was thinking. 😂
We all have been there!
The thing about fly fishing is, if it’s a day I don’t catch anything, I still have fun casting 😄.
Hey Alvin - I think the trunk on that bike is bigger than the one in my fishing vehicle - Mini Cooper!! :D
😂 It does have a lot of room!
Glad ya caught a couple! Love these type of videos. Where were you?
Thanks for keeping the name of the river secret. I love to go there for the solitude. BTW the fishing there has been dismal this year...perhaps the drought has had an affect on the fish population.
Oof, the hill country is beautiful!
Great video man! I appreciate the transparency, it’s not about the fish always, but about the time on the water.
People don’t realize how hard fishing is in Texas in July and august on the fly. Almost as tough as December and January. Texas heat is rough on everything
That’s how you know you love fishing. Have a bad and you still want to get up the next day and do it all over again!
So true!

Just going fishing all that counts, fish or no fish just being out on the water always is a good time
Quite refreshing not to see another edited fish after fish video. I always enjoy your videos, keep it up.
Thanks I was trying to get fish after fish, but the fish had other plans 😂
Great video, my friend!!! You motivate me. Thanks homie😎
Two of us went out tues. also diff river, and one on top water one on streamers and we both got hard skunked.
What wet wading shoes do you use?
So I'm not the only fly fisherman that happens to. Love your videos Alvin. God Bless and Tight Lines, Anthony Hipps
Thank you Anthony!

Love it😉
Thanks for watching!
You ever get swimmers itch wading wet, no waders?
Not around here, it get's so hot everything is dry a few minutes after you get out of the water.
Hey Alvin, I use a bike to fish. You need to wear gloves man, if you fall off and cut your hands, you will not be able to fish. Fab videos.
Thanks for reminding me of that. Gonna get a pair today!
That’s a nice bike, is it street legal? If so, do you need a license?
It's street legal. It's classified as a moped so you don't need a motorcycle license.
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing any Ranger content coming soon?
@@Cousin_Gregg I'm posting a little bit, but I should have it late summer or early fall, and then I will see what it can do!
Looks like good day to me :)
It was!
Very nice bud
What’s the name of the river so I can stay away from it
😂
Like they say. A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work
So true!
Dude...the helmet makes you look like Marvin the Martian
Just need that mohawk on top!
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing 🤣
Did you worry about someone stealing your gear?

Time to buy a spinning rod 😂
