Да простит меня Алла Борисовна Пугачёва, но в её исполнении я эту песню даже не заметила. Диана же исполнила так, что "Реченька" стала любимой песней многих людей по всему миру. Браво, Диана!
Я специально для сравнения прослушал эту композицию в исполнении А.Б. и дианы 100 к одному в пользу Дианы. Сколько бы не говорил Галкин ,что А.Б.исполняла это много лет это неправда. Посмотрите передачу юбилей Александра который блистательно играл в фильме "любовь и голуби".
У Аллы Борисовны нет таких "походов" по регистрам, как у Дианы
. Но от оригинала мурашки в своё время пробегали и ещё какие. Совершенно необычная песня. Дай Бог Диане всего самого лучшего.

@@mike6174 Thanks. I'm not the least fluent in Russian, so I have no way to know. In reality though, all three seem to be almost the same except for a few words. The context and meaning of the lyrics seem the same. As I said, I have no way to know for certain what the actual lyrics are. Perhaps you are a native speaker and you do. Thanks again for posting.
Yes, she is a shaman🙃 This is a traditional wedding song. In those days girls were given in wedlock at the age of 12 or 13. This orphan girl comes to the river that divides the world of the living and that of the dead to invoke the spirits of her dead parents in order to invite them to her wedding. The creepy part was the dead mother answering. After that the girl addresses the other wedding guests. It is a powerful story and she performed it in a way that shows great performing skills. Kudos also to the production team for the stage design and wardrobes. So well done. I love it.

This is an old ritual song and this is the story: An orphan girl should/ wants to get married and goes to the little river (Rechenka), the border between the living and the dead, and asks her mother for the blessing (mother's whisper). The guests have already gathered at the court, and things are going very well.
In Russia it was customary to ask to cry at a wedding. That should chase away evil spirits and bring good luck.

Its about an orphan being married off to a person she doesn't love. She goes to (Rechenka) which means little river in English. In old times people believed this was the barrier between the living and the dead. She's asking to be blessed for marriage but has no mother or father to bless her. When Diana whispers, its her mother asking why no smile on your face. The dancers are the spirits. She sings that there are many people at home and horses in the yard but no one to bless the marriage.The yodeling is her crying for nobody to bless her. In my mind, I interpret that this doesn't end well for the bride, she gets in a boat and floats away. In Russian traditions, crying at weddings to ward off bad luck, to bless a wedding. Diana's performance is beyond her 14 years of age. BRAVO!

I suggest you start by going backwards to her first Russian audition that required a masterful yodel and it was masterful, a tour de force performance with a very controversial aftermath which I won’t spoil but has to be viewed to be believed! This was your traditional Voice audition with chairs turned so that the judges could not see the performer but only hear her voice.
Next I suggest her emotionally impactful “ Me Voy” in Spanish and what a performance! The emotions she invoked made many viewers on the edge of tears. Again 13 years old.
Then fast forward to 14 or 15 years old to “Human” where she really showcases her low dramatic contralto vocal prowess throughout.
Then 20 more live performances!!!

About "Rechenka" ... it's based on an old traditional folk tale about an orphaned girl who is supposed to marry someone she doesn't love, so she goes down to the river (the border between the living and the dead) to talk to her mother and ask for her advice. That strange raspy voice is the voice of her mother (she does an excellent job of producing a freaky voice, doesn't she?), asking why she's not happy; the rest is her telling about her sad situation.
I sure am happy you're doing this song. I my favorite Diana song, even if I don't understand any of the words. Cheers. I hear ya on child abuse, it's certainly one of the most horrific crimes out there.
