    lol wait everyone saying that gerard cant sing live..wait ive never disagreed more. i think hes FANTASTIC live. he doesnt sound like the record because he doesnt TRY to sound like the record. he changes things up every night, and he is more frantic live and it has way more personality. i think hes amazing live.

    @xxxmakeshiftwingsxxx " Give me an imperfect show played with passion over a flawless one with no emotion any day."
    I now what you mean, but what about both? all i'm saying is that this songs aren't impossible to play perfectly AND with emotion. I think they are achieving it now! I always knew they could do it.

    Yes, their previous albums may have been better, but they didn't "sell out." I love the Black Parade.

    They didn't sell-out the Chris Cornell way but they did change their sound to a more mellow, slower and easy-listening sound to better fit the likes of the mass which in my opinion is selling out.

    @patricioriv Accuse me of being a obsessed fan-girl if you like, but you know what? A show like this is not about being note-perfect or sounding like the record. A show like this is about passion and energy and inticmacy, and this performance has all of those in spades. Give me an imperfect show played with passion over a flawless one with no emotion any day.

    @patricioriv They save the "sounding good" for the cd, and focus on giving the audience a great experience when live. I prefer live concerts over studio, maybe thats just because i've heard each studio song thousands of times (not exaggerated)

  • @nocturnezero
    @nocturnezero 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    They changed their sound, hell yeah, but the defining question here is whether it was for financial gain.

    @hifatpeople Greetings! I posted that a year ago and now I can say he has improved! A lot of users here are saying Gerards voice is that way and there's nothing he can do about it, but the truth is Gerard has been(was) a smoker for years. Do you know if he smokes now? because in a lot of interviews I can see him chewing gum now. Maybe that's why he is singing better!

    @3ILuvmusic 14 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @patricioriv I agree with you completely, however I must say that to my understanding it's difficult to be consistent with your singing. Some days you sound really good, and other days it's worn out and sounds rusty and just overall shitty. But I know that's something that can be improved and every band member has had to overcome some sort of struggle musically, hopefully Gerard will get better. I can appreciate the fact that he still means what he sings, even if it doesn't always sound good.

    @TheBritishHoboShow Sure it is pleasant listening to a band who is not labeled to a specific type of sound but do you think The Black Parade was the best direction? I mean they completely sold-out! If you take a look at their early performances, sound, interviews you will see what I am saying and partly agree with me

    From the videos I've seen online and on TV, Gerard was horrible live during the Three Cheers era. That's why even though I love them and have been a huge fan since 2003/2004, I was extremely hesitant to see them live during the Black Parade tour. I was surprised to see that he did get a lot better at singing live. But it is pretty clear that he's fucking horribly out of breath in this video, as said in a previous comment. He's still a good singer though.

      it was one of the last songs he played and was really hot. usually when screaming around in a tiny hot room for an hour, you get pitchy and stuff at the end haha

    Wow, I didn't think Brittney Spears was still relevant enough to be bashed on.

  • @patricioriv

    Yeah, you are obviously an intelligent person, but most of the fans thinks everything they do is perfect. Bob's playing is flawless, Ray is a very good guitarist and composer, mikey suffered depression and is a better bassist now, frankie plays with all his heart and better than I used to think, but Gerard just gets worse over time... At one point through "The Black Parade Era" I though he was improving, but now...
    He is so talented and HE CAN BE BETTER. I know that :(

  • @patricioriv
    @patricioriv 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @nevers4yforever Maybe, but breathing control is very important when you sing and it can be learned. other singers have toured more than 2 years without losing their voices. My whole point is that I believe Gerard could be a better SINGER (i don't judge him as a person). Some fans don't care about that and think he's perfect the way he is. I think that's understimate him,that's all, and like i said before " I posted that a year ago and now I can say he has improved!" i hope he quits cigarretes

    @brandonohemgee I know a good performance does not have to be perfect technically. I do think MCR tried that direction with the whole Black Parade garbage, the theatrical and dramatic scenes and costumes but failed miserably. You have probably taken a look at life on the murder scene, if not I advise you, and back then they had the performance, they were raw and careless of what the fans thought of their shows because it was all about them. It was good, I must say!

    @gy614x Haven't really listen to any new song besides Bob Dylan's cover which to me sounded like a cheap imitation of everything Sex Pistols/Ramones have already done. Besides that I'm waiting for their release which I hope to be more Bullet-y. I'm also a fan of the band but that doesn't mean I have to agree with every direction they chose to take

    Was he drunk on this show? When the bullts,revenge,parade era he was so active jumping with energy now he's all tired and emotionless when singing..but tbh I don't blame him he's been on tour and that must be really annoying he must be tired..when the world contamination tour started he was skinny now he's all chubby again

  • @doesthisnamefit
    @doesthisnamefit 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    I must tell you that your standards for a good performance are really low. I watched the video you kindly sent me and I must disagree once again as it just comes to show that they are pretty average live. I stand by what I say the band as a whole is good but gerard never had a voice, the first two albums he did not really need on but the black parade was too much for him. The difference between now and their early performances is, nowadays he energy does not compensate his poor vocal habilities

  • @doesthisnamefit
    @doesthisnamefit 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would have to disagree. First, this song is on the second album of the band, fact! Second, Gerard's voice is a complete wreck, he can't live up to the songs he intends to sing as he has not much of a voice, fact. I have seen them live, the whole band was ok, Ray is an effecient guitarist, frank is losing his energy, the bassist wasn't there so I have nothing against him and the drummer was ok! As for Gerard he couldn't keep up with the band as he couldn't sing!

  • @patricioriv
    @patricioriv 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love MCR but Gerard sucks live. He should practice more...is his f*ckin' job!
    I can see the thumbs down comin...
