Hi my name is Damo & welcome to our TH-cam channel, we are loving family that live in Bamboo Huts in Rural Thailand. Damo (me), Ryan (my husband), and Otis (Our Son) spend our days taking care of the land and the animals and enjoying each others company.
We have opted for a simpler lifestyle, and living in "The Now". On the vlog we will show you what it is like to live in Rural Thailand, details on plants we grow on our land, and most importantly our honest and authentic selves, the good, the bad and the ugly.

My wife was raised on a Thai farm and says the soil is everything, then water. She throws out food scraps and a garden pops up....
The rural farm may be the smart play with what's likely to come, economically.

Mate! You are so far ahead of so many others of your age. Well done, you can see clearly what Thailand rural is all about. We, for family reason built a new home in Rangsit. I remember arriving there from Australia for the first time and not having any hot water. 3 bathrooms and not one with hot water! All bathrooms had hot water by the end of the next day. Gotta have a hot shower.

I would suggest that a lot of your subscribers like watching the everyday life videos , there are plenty of vloggers out there doing the travel vids, yours is somewhat different from the rest as its normal thai farm life which you don't see much of. So if I were you I would just continue pumping out the vids, 👍

This is the real happiness . Our Thai girl, your wife, is a lucky girl to have you. It is true like you said the happiness is free in your head and knowing how to utilise what you have . I like the way you think and do. I miss my rice field watching your story but it has been taken because we don't live in the village . God blesses you and your family . You son and your wife are cuties.

For basil you can grow it from a cutting, it'll be easier than growing it from seeds. 😊 I'm a beginner in gardening as well but I wanted to share a little knowledge.

When I was growing my own I start some of the seeds in paper towels wet them keep damp they spout . Water ferlizer test soil
Be sure that you had the ground wire connected.

This is the time to build a small bathroom up in the house by the bedroom! Make sure you also install screens so the mosquitos won't get in. I think you'd really enjoy it that way. Just a suggestion. My girlfriends family has a farm near Ubon Ratchathani once again with no hot shower. Never would descibe myself as nesh, but, there is value in certain creature comforts.

What was the families reaction to hot water on demand??
It has been a quick 2 months, it seems like only 2 weeks ago you planted the cucumbers.
I love thinking that when damo was talking to you she was asking how on earth does it take you soooo long to do the dishes. The bowl woth the blue pattern is now a plain white bowl as you have scrubbed the pattern off.
Hahaha only you would notice that! We both laughed because if you don’t cut to the other surrounding area scenes then I was that dish over and over!
Her mum abs dad still showing in the old way from a bucket but the kids love the new hot shower! 🙏😌🇹🇭

Boil hot peppers down to extract the capsaicin,put in spray bottle and spray on leaves.put beer in dishes or cans in the garden it will attract bugs and slugs 💝😁👍

I used to have a basil farm. It takes a really long time for the seeds to come up. I seem to remember it sometimes taking months. keep watering!

Thank you very much for your thoughts about the Art of Retirement and Freedom. You are very right. BTW, install a hot water tap for your kitchen sink too, or exchange the one you have with one which as a build in heat coil. You will need much less soap and your pieces will get much cleaner.

Ahhh the shower,i remember the days when whe where at the village house from my wife,the shower room.A sort of concrete bath tube where a bucket was floating around in icecold water.It took alot courage to throw the 1ste bucket over yourself in the morning with this cold water.I did'nt mind do that during the hot day,its refreshing in the heat.Nowadays they installed hot water instalation just like yours.......keep up the good work.

I don’t think I’ll ever find any of your vlogs boring, they give me a true insight into farm life in northern Thailand, something that hopeful I’ll end finding out for myself someday. Keep them coming.
With some of the veg your trying to grow that won’t grow, try growing them in 50ltr rubber buckets, your be suprized at what you can get from a bucket food wise. Check out HGV (Home Grown Veg) on you tube, for a better insight to what you can grow in buckets, from onions to potatoes. I’ve been testing it for the last 3 years and had massive success with my spuds, cucumber, onions, tomatoes, peppers, chillies, lettuce and best were radishes and leeks, so tasty.
And I couldn’t agree more, FREEDOM is in the mind of a person and so many times, it’s a person past or behaviour that’s keeps a person from being free.
บ้านนอก is not the middle of nowhere. It is a place of safety, away from the rest of the world. My experience with mint is once it gets started you will never get rid of it, so I hope you like mint.

Grow from off-cut stems is much easier than from seeds..
I have so many plants that I prunes, leave the cut-off stems /stalks in water jar and when they start to root, I gave them away...
Just ask neighbours for some off- cuts... Cheers

Spring onion is easy to grow. There are a lot youtube videos on growing spring onions, papayas and many others. 😀😀😀

I would advise covering those holes with a screen in the shower area . My Thai gf family lives in the countryside too . Mosquitoes will eat you alive , especially during the rainy season and any other insects.
