THAI PEOPLE ARE SOME OF THE COLLECTIVELY HONEST PEOPLE AND CULTURE!!!! Ive left thousands in cash and motorbikes while out of country or on trips and they always protect and preserve your stuff or everyone leaves it where it lays if not valuable its amazing and i never hear about any theft less a few in bkk or yaba related
This is one of the best vlogs I've ever seen, the mixture of personal detail and seeing you create even more of a strong bond with Otis has been an honour to witness. Your drone footage and explanation of the history of the places you've visited thus far is fascinating 🥰
One of the times I was in Thailand I got a taxi to my accommodation, (30 minutes away) after a late arrival at BKK. As I was unpacking there was a knock on my door and it was one of the porters and he had my laptop which I'd left in the back of the taxi. I hadn't even realised I'd left it yet, but the driver saw it after he got back to the airport and bought it back to me. I didn't even get to thank him, but he summed up the honesty of Thai people
Tis northern accent is lovely to hear. Can we have the name of the resort with the kayak etc please. Thanks Ryan for the info and the effort Put in to make the videos.
Great video. I love the natural beauty of Thailand and the relationship you have with your son. You’re building great memories … the best investment you will ever make. It’s wonderful that the Thai people are so trustworthy. That certainly isn’t the case in the U. S.
Really nice vlog. On the subject of Thai honesty, about 22 years ago my wife and my son and daughter moved into a condo in a Thai area of Bangkok. I was working in Malaysia at the time so I was not a familiar face to the Thais there but they had seen me on the odd occasion with my family. I had to get a taxi one evening so went to the convenience store in the condo for change of a 1000 baht note. The lady politely told me she didn’t have that much money in the till, then gave me 200 baht and said pay me back when you come in next.
Thanks for the peace and tranquility. Keep these videos coming. Am looking for places to escape to in the coming years as the US is becoming a pretty inhospitable place for people who are kind and sane.
Rayn you are a wonderful dad spending all that time with your little lad before he grows to a teenager ,not many dads do have the opportunity to do what you are doing as we are too busy trying to make a leaving in the west
Within the first couple months of being in Thailand I lost my wallet with about 18,000 baht and all my bank cards. It was at a park and after about 30 mins of freaking out and looking for it I went to the coffee shop there and someone had turned it in with nothing missing. Coming from America where you can't even trust your packages not being stolen from your porch it's an entirely different world here even with the poverty.
Some exceptions are nice. 17:20 At least I enjoyed (also) this vdo. Pa and son, wonderful nature... Yes, Koh Chang and Koh Lanta have also some places to relax, hopefully a little longer before discovered by the masses.
Thanks for sharing Ryan, love the spot you two are camped up at there. Just beautiful countryside. Enjoy the adventure mate, lots of excellent times ahead
Wow 12 7 11's !! Fresh strawberries yep easier going in the car that way with Tis. Thank God they have your things!! I love the scenic stuff it's great that Thais are so honest great culture. The boat good exercise the paddles yes you need time to relax!! grandmas love is the best ❤ yes and all those special times like what your spending with Tis and the videos you have of Thai relatives and yours from UK they are precious things to look back and enjoy with your children and grandchildren later in life it makes these times your spending now such fun ! Loved the video Ryan !! Thanks!
Agree family is everything looks like you both are having a wonderful holiday Otis will have great memories that’s priceless thank you both for sharing it with us
Ah this is one of my favorite national parks in Thailand. Erawan is so beautiful and I’m sure Tis will love the waterfall. Looking forward to seeing it again through his eyes ❤
I thought the same with my mother, she was getting better and suddenly she was gone. I love thailand, maybe mot so much the tourist areas. I love vicariously through you now, my declining health means i will probably never get to hold my misses again as cant work. Enjoy your children and misses while you can, as you never know what is in the future. I rented a bissan ultima i. 2016 for 7 days ($130AUD) when finished i got it fully detailed for $2 Aud. God bless Siam. God bless your family and mine
Great episode, glad you got the drone delivered.. quick thinking, "Finders keepers losers weepers". yes i might sell a drone i found but only if it was left by the road or on a bench somewhere. so easy nowadays with Facebook marketplace 555 joking... i would take it to the nearest Thai shop and tell them where i found it. Marvelous soliloquy about grandmother with added guru philosophy fueled introspection, Ryan, You are a champion among men, fathers . Peace and Love Y'all
Great vlog as always Ryan. Good thinking about the return of your hats and the all important drone, saving time by using Grab. You are so right about Thais mainly being honest. I am always leaving stuff and having to go back to collect it. I remember my scooter getting a puncture in the evening and finding a puncture repair guy who was just closing up. It was between Khon Kaen and Mahasarakham. He repaired it but in my hurry to get home I left my phone there. I tried phoning him on my wife's phone but no answer. So we drove to his little repair shop where he was sitting outside waiting for me to return. My wife asked him why he hadn't answered when we rang him and he said he was scared in case whoever was ringing spoke "Farang" and he knew I would return, so he stayed open just for me, bless him. He was, of course, handsomely rewarded but he refused to take it, so I "accidently" left the money where I had left the phone. I just love the genuineness of Thai people. Looks like a fabulous hotel that you found there, and the drone shots were well worth the 500 baht Grab fee! Incidentally I have a hat exactly the same as yours, but the band rotted away over time. However I still wear it out in the sun and I wouldn't be without it. God bless and protect you and the family.😀❤🙏
I agree that generally speaking the Thai people don't think of a lost object as belonging to them. They think it should be returned to the owner. I have seen the same thing in China. Someone left their laptop in a cafe. I gave it to the cashier. He put it back on the table. Said they will be back for it. I also agree that Otis will likely not remember your early travels or perhaps even this trip but your videos will keep those memories alive. Ryan we just traveled to Pai. Wow, talk about overcrowded and chaotic. The Saturday community market aside, not for relaxing Pai is a friendly hippie tourist jam-packed little town or at least that was our impression. Shoes are optional no matter how hot the pavement or what type of motorcycle you ride. 555 Think we saw 5 motorcycle accidents in 5 days.
Soon enough you’ll end up having to put your boyz names on the title and we’ll all remember what it was like when we took trips w our fathers good or bad i think we all had dads that had the travel bone maybe causing us to find our way to Thailand (eventually) 9:04 lol😅😮😊
The Memory of Grandma's Love. Grandma always held your heart, right from the very start. Her arms were open wide. She had the safest place to hide. Inside of Grandma's hug, you were safe and snug. Grandma's love always appeared, then trouble disappeared. Grandma made you happy, because she loved you. Grandma wiped your tears, and chased away your fears. What a memorable story about it when the video is ending. Hope she's still able to see what you're doing in the sky with peace taking your time.
I an a senior of law firm in Ubon, it 'said' in law school that any badge or sticker that you put on the car or motobike that said you are the police and you are not, it is 'an impersonation of police officer' and you can be charge, but I never see any case of this ever, LoL >>>Under Thai law, Section 146 of the Thai Penal Code may apply. It states that: "Whoever falsely pretends to be a public official and performs any act under the pretense of being such an official shall be punished with imprisonment not exceeding three years or a fine not exceeding six thousand baht, or both."
Ryan....big request....just today at the till in Lidl my baby boy started laughing at the scanner, to which I remarked (Elton John voice)" it's a LIDL bit funny...." it got a titter from one of the other shoppers. Nothing from my Thai wife....do you ever get similar language/cultural barriers with Damo? It's no biggie I know but just wondered if you get the same still even after living there so long?
By recording these things in the way you do, you are creating a phycological and emotional burden on the people involved in your life. We all do it, it’s natural, We are all determined to be what we are by the things we experience

Glad you’re teaching Otis the Northern sense of Humour!
That place is stunning! Cheers!

Beautiful video. Out of everything in live, time is the only thing you can never get back once it is gone. Cherish every moment with your children

Oh my, the memories are so strong. Thanks. ❤❤
Can’t believe you forgot your hat 😂😂 I’m glad you got everything back, you were very lucky.
You were very polite with those cats cats. I would have lost my cool and chased them out of the resort long ago to get some shut eye😊
500 baht well spent on the Grab. What a location. Beautiful.

I went to that restaurant some years ago , when I went to the toilet , the attendant gave me a neck massage , very, uncomfortable
I will take my Thai wife there,it looks so very nice…and romantic,Ryan.😊😊
❤
god bless

If you paid over 2,000 baht a night for that hotel then you've made a mistake with the title, as you were robbed.
Sounds like there is going to be kittens in a couple months.
"Did you run away from your wife to go on a trip
