How about a build off challenge? Make a cheap budget ($2000-$3000). Marty and Turbo Yoda VS Moog and Mechanical Stig? (or something like that) Then have a series of challenges and best car wins. If they survive maybe do a give away one night at your restaurant.
True. Just thinking of something cheaper for them and something that would be easy. Seeing as we have had a long series of just one car it might be nice to have multiple cars at once (if possible) and something that they don't care about really. Like a shit car challenge, they get $3000 each and they have to buy and modify the car within budget to complete a set of challenges that maybe we all pick for them. Just popping ideas out there, I'm sure they have their own in mind though.
Yeah exactly my thinking but with seeing all the modification and repair work put into it, not just the challenges. Always hated that about top gear, they cut out some of the best bits in doing the mods (mostly cos someone else did all the work).
Why would you want to see repairs of stuff? You can only afford cars you have to fix or something? I've had several cars I had to repair just to drive them legally. I'm done with that, I buy new when possible.
Ryobi is a good fit for the show as well. Unlike quite a few podcasts I listen to that are sponsored by mattress manufacturers and random phone companies...
3rd World Garage not true with dewalt. When they went from their old style batteries to the new slide batteries, they sold an adapter that made the new batteries fit the old tools.
Could we please get a nice long video about your careers as audio engineers and musicians? It's such an interesting back story and I've always been interested in that career and having watched you guys for years now we don't get a ton of info on the personal lives (which I totally understand, you guys need your space away from TH-cam and all) but even just in a generalized "this is what we do when we're not on the video" and what made you decide to do it. For MCMTV2 or something, apologies if you've already done it before!
Brian Rivera If Home Depot is like a huge hardware / homewares / gardening / electrical warehouse then yes we do, but they are called Bunnings. Ryobi tools are all available at Bunnings.
Doesn't matter what car you guys do or what you do to it. Every part of this channel is just top notch entertainment and I wish you all the best success for the next 10+ years. MCM4LYF
I’m switching from DeWalt to Ryobi. Putting my order now. Thank you for supporting one of the best places to get wholesome albeit sometimes raunchy car knowledge and humor!
Veganpotter, 2.7 million subs on TH-cam, I'm sure that if they added them to MCM store that they would sell a few thousand, and knowing these guys most of the profit would go to charity. Win/win in my book, what could it hurt?
I know it's a year later, but your comments are bang on.. I have just completed ground up rebuild and modification of an rx8, it's not stock at all and you get the oh its rotary unreliable coz everyone they are all the issues were addressed in the rebuild but it doent stop the internet does it..I did it for me and the journey was amazing every time I drive It i feel alive. Modified a bmw 645ci ground up and engine rebuild with supercharger for dad during the time too..money is over rated right 🤔🥴😉..look its about your adventure get out there and do what u want and feel good about it... Keep up the excellent work lads love it..👍💪😎
This has to be the most down-to-earth TH-cam channel on the platform. Super conservative, clean, simple, creative builds with no crazy flashy wide body kits and $20,000 wheels. I'm no master fabricator, but every single one of their videos makes me feel like I'd actually be able to do that same project in my garage, and not need super intricate one off custom body kits to replicate their work like most of the other builds I've watched. Keep up the amazing work and I hope to see many more outstanding projects in the future!
I have said this countless times before, both in person to people and in the comments. Your channel is epic, I was 6 on a HP laptop that was loaded with windows XP where I saw my first ever video by MCM (The show car build), seeming as my brain was still developing I never watched when you uploaded as I didn’t know how TH-cam worked, 3 years onwards I started getting hooked after I realised how TH-cam worked, it’s now just under a decade (I believe) since I discovered this channel and still am stoked on how this channel evolved. I am shocked at how you guys can speak for 30 minutes in that style because I cannot do it myself. I’m hooked, keep up the good work my man’s.
Dear guys, I live in the opposite side of the world, i've been in Sydney years ago, the better experience in my life with realized and expired dream (bought sold an 86). When i watch your videos i see all the quality of Aussie people that i've met: positivity, simplicity, true friendship.. and this make me smile and being little nostalgic if i think about past, but it even make me more strong, because of you i grow up again with my lost english, with learning more about cars culture, and dreaming more more and more.. So just a big thank you and hope the best of you. If in future you'll need an italian scoundrel to put in the restaurant kitchen i'm here :D
I love that moog said that it's all about your own experience and you shouldn't listen to people just because they have done it before. I am modifying my car at the moment and the amount of "advice" I get off of others is unbelievable. I want to do it my way and learn and have fun with my mates. Oh and Ps if you are modding, stay away from the forums for your specific car because the BS is real in there.
The amount of money I spent on my first modified car is probably double what I'll ever spend again. I did so much over the top stuff, only to realize the diminishing returns of a lot of it.
True that.... as someone that's been playing with Japanese cars for over 20 years.. do your own thing.. sure get advice.. but don't listen to what forums tell you. It's all about what you want...... unless you want to run 30 PSI boost through an NA engine... then.... sadly you're on your own...
Thanks for the update and for answering all the questions from the interballs! Love your work guys, the production value in these videos is just off the charts.
I was talking about Western Australia if that wasn't clear, but I think its global. Not only are they worth more but they're obviously collector's items now so they're being sold less often too. Whoever bought one on the cheap is a lucky bastard
+Dire I'd like to think most people would make that connection. I am not from AUS but due to the line of work I am in I have gotten a lot more familiar. We import export from a number of ports in AUS one of those being Fremantle. Now as for worth more overall in all locations? That is true.. sort of, but not to the same extents. Like you can get a really good one for 20k USD, or you can get one that's not in that great of shape for 1-3k. In my area at least. If you go out west around Kansas you can probably find a lot better deals but it's going to cost a little more on the transport/secure hand over. Now 10 or more years ago that 20k car would be 10k, so it's "gone up" but still not to the level it is in AUS.
Normally I get over Q&A videos pretty quickly but these guys have planned it out, they're not reading off their phones and they are answering only the good questions. Thanks guys!
you will be disappointed in the results.... thats like saying im gonna buy some maccas for dinner cause moog said it was healthy and they donated to charity.
yeah ryobi makes good bit of kit :) had my collection for a while now and they put the price on the batteries that you only need couple and then you can buy reasonably priced bare tools that do their job well
I'm sure this comment will get buried, but I just wanted to say that you all make awesome videos and I'm glad that you still enjoy it after 10.5 years! This is my favorite channel on TH-cam and I hope to continue watching it for years to come.
I keep seeing people go "I preferred your videos from 2 years ago, why did you change?" on almost any channel that has a little history, and I don't really understand why. People change, things change, you aren't the same person you were 5 years ago. Maybe you met someone in your life, maybe something happened to you. Things change with time, and depending the event, you can change within a few days. All this to say that as long as you still try to do what you enjoy and still try to make the most of your life, change is good. It means you are learning and evolving. I have been watching this channel for at least 5 years now, and I can say that you guys have changed, and I think it is in a good way. You have more budget, more resources, more mates, more viewers, and I still enjoy sitting down and watching an mcm video just as much as before. Keep up the good work mates, you guys rock!
I honestly didnt see any change.. theyre still the same dudes doing the same things, just with more experience and more resources. I feel like the people saying they have changed havent been watching the same 2 dudes i have... O.o
Good day sir. I just finished watching your 240Z project and I'm deeply impressed. I mean you didn't just push the power to be bigger and such but made it into a legal drive-able car. really appreciate it. after all most of people just care abut how much power it has and how fast it can be, but didn't think of the legality or the the drive-ability of the car for a daily driving car. PS. also that car is really beautiful. the fact that you decided to make it looks stock makes it more lovable.
Always felt like part of the "crew" back when you boys started, though hearing you say 10 and 1/2 years sureeee does put things into perspective, i was single and a teen when i started watching you guys now im married and working on my family while trying to figure out how to fit my own car project into the mix, your videos always keeps the dream alive and looking forward to another 10 and 1/2 years :D
This entire series has been GREAT! In the 1970's i raced a Datsun 260z in C Class Production. Everything was so much simpler back then. Slap in a full race cam, header, 3 Webber 2 barrels, racing suspension, spoilers & you had yourself a rocket!!! 165+ MPH top speed & i used it as my daily driver also. Never lost a street race & did well at the track. My car was called a Porsche Killer.
I think you'll find that the spirit and love for cars grows with age in the true enthusiasts. Also it's hard to support this type of hobby when you're young and broke.
Mike Thompson true but if you’ve seen their earlier videos you would know of the low budgets they had to deal with. Unlike nowadays where they can allow themselves to spend a bit more then they might of wanted in the past.
Well done MCM!. Can't believe I found two blokes working on a honda in their mums drive in 2010 while I was bored trying avoid studying for uni in 2010 and haven't stopped watching since!
10 years, I've been watching for probably 9 of those years. Still my favourite car channel by a large distance. Myself and my mates will be dropping in to Wishbone when we're down from Brisbane for World Time Attack Challenge in October. Well done guys!
I calculated ( with lots of averaging and estimation ) they spent from $60,000- $70,000 on this build. Doing it without mechanic friends would be a lot more expensive however.
Maybe you could do an R33 or R32 one day haha, doesn't have to be a 34. Either way, this was probably the most epic build you've ever done. Great work lads!
or even a R31 GTS-R :P thinking over it, 120k $ for a GTR is a lot considering the alternatives... you can get a Tommy Kaira M25 for less than 10k... but it's only RWD though. if 4WD is a must there is the underlooked Nissan Stagea, convert it from automatic to manual and youbasically get an GTR Wagon. would be a nice build like a supergramps 2.0. then it is the R32 GTR's.... not that insane amount of cash as the R34 GTR's and specially the V-spec models. or could skip Nissan in total and go for the total underdog of the class, the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 but that car would maybe be to "non-sleeper" for MCM.
That's why people love the LS, the torque and power curve on any reasonably well built LS is a thing of beauty. Like anything in life there are bad examples of them as well.
I bought one of those Ryobi lights simply because i saw you blokes using it and honestly has changed my life. not just for car work but camping. power outs all sorts! Love your work guys, 10 year follower, first time commenting lol
Congrats on getting Ryobi on board. As someone who has in past (and again very recently) has suffered with depression, your work with Reachout is awesome, and a great inspiration. I love your thoughts and love for turbocharged cars vs n/a cars. All of my cars are n/a at the moment. I have a 1975 Mk1 Ford Escort, 1300cc, 4 speed manual. its not fast, but it runs a twin choke weber, extractors and a nice flowing exhaust, it goes well for what it is, and makes all the right noises. On the flip side, I have previously owned B series XR6 Turbos, and i can say now i regret selling them. Can not beat that performance. My long term project is a car thats been in my family since i was 2 years of age. a 1987 XF Ford Fairmont Ghia wagon. Its been converted to manual, low, exhaust etc etc. I have always wanted to turbocharge that, but I am one of those purist types, so i wouldnt do it any other way, other than a period correct turbo conversion, with some modern supporting mods. So i spent a good few years sourcing an original Dick Johnson and HKS developed turbo kit for the fuel injected 4.1L crossflow 6 cylinder engine. the car is currently under going a restoration, then when the funds are available the new engine will be built for it ready to take some boost. Keep up the good work guys
I’m getting sick of TH-cam/Internet comments on the whole. How you put up with it I don’t know 😂 What’s even worse is I bet the majority of people that have some negative criticism haven’t even used a spanner... Keep up the great work 🤙🏼
Thank you very much for keeping those of us who are living in countries where people don't think about cars and engineering as very much interesting, staying connected to the automotive world.Really appreciate it
Guys you did a wonderful job on the Fairlady. Probably your best build yet. I'm 54 years old and I appreciate a modified Car over a matching numbers Car. It's about pushing the Car beyond what it was originally engineered to do. If I had that Car and had the money, I love to do the same thing. You took a 5 figure Car and made it a 6 figure Car. Well done keep up the good work!!!!
Next build....use a rotary engine, they sounds...just awesome 😍😍😍😍 About: done before comments...ppl need to realize...everybody give his ore her project, they're own " personal twist". That make it so special!!! Just keep up the good work boy's😋
You guys are just awesome, getting better everyday. I actually rent a shed with a bunch of friends to work on our cars just like you do, and you served as insparation to just get up and do it. I'm putting an Alfa Romeo v6 engine in my lada soon, and the build of the 240 gave me the motivation I needed. Many thanks and congrats from Brazil!
Ryobi is the best bang for your buck, I totally love my impact as well. I've had some of my 18v tools for 15 years, still going strong. Just new batteries. Also this has been my favorite build so far, I've wanted a 240z since I was a kid.
All together 60,000-70,000 After Labor with how skilled you had magic hands pull up on there flying magic carpet every episode was prolly 10,000-20,000 worth of skilled Labor. With the hands that touched this car & the detail you guys did #PRICELESS
One Gauge I was about to say who u know and if u got friends like turbo yoda and mechanical stigg u really can’t put a price on it... none of my friends are that good lol
Guys.... I've been a Fan and tiny supporter of this awesome, informative and entertaining Show, since the "rotten years", 10+ years ago!!! 🍻🍺🍺👍👍🍺 AS a Retired ASE certified Auto Tech, I've enjoyed your Show, and shared Episodes often. As a HUGE Ragid Fan of Nissan's "ZED-Car", this Series was extra exciting for me!! In my Life, I've owned 5 various ZEDs, 7 300 ZED-X's, 3 of those, Turbo. I WISH that I had access to the type of Global Information that Hundreds of MILLIONS of People everywhere, take for granted today!! What I could have done to ANY of them - back when I WASN'T 55 years old and Disabled. Ifi could have ANY of those Cars today.... It SHOCKS most People to find i would choose the 1987-88 300-ZED-X Turbo!!! 😵😱 Might be LAST choice for many! For Me, now, it represented Power (with a LOT of room for improvement today!!). It represented "American Plushiness", a Roomy, Comfortable, decent Handling and Pleasant Driving Experience... *TO ME.* I will never again have the money, time, Work Area, or the Physical Ability, to ever Build me another 300ZX... Moog and Marty, you Guys hit on a very valid point in this Episode. *DON'T BUILD SOMETHING FOR THE INTERNET!* Build something that will put a Smile on your Face, every time you slip behind the Wheel. Sage Advice Mates!! I wish more would follow that. Cheers to another 10 Years!!! 🍺👍👍🍻🍺🍺🍺 Carmine 💥 ⛽ Arizona, USA
*TO ADD......* I hit the Link you mentioned regarding actual TH-cam Video COST... What informative and enlightening Blog!! I was actually SAD, hearing about the Mass Hysteria and the HORRIBLE, enflamed Comments - that "so-called Fans of Roadkill" were forced to endure. WHY? Because Motor Trend Magazine decided to put "Roadkill" behind a Pay Wall on TH-cam - for SUCH a modest fee, even this Broken Old Disabled Veteran can afford to pay for it!!! OMFG!!!! *So MANY Butthurt, Selfish Basement Warriors!!* You'd think they were just CASTRATED, judging by the overreaction of HATE towards two Guys - not unlike You - they just started earlier, and were already associated with MT Magazine. Thousands and Thousands of Selfish Butthurt Spoiled BRATS - chucking any Loyalty they had towards these Guys, saying absolutely AWFUL things to o them PERSONALLY! Because they stopped getting some FREE Content??!! So Sad. You should post that Link nearly every week. I believe Everyone who spends Idle Time on TH-cam, almost completely for Free... *NEEDS TO READ THAT BLOG!!* It staggers me, how many Spoiled, Entitled, "Everyone's a Winner" Basement Warriors are out there. Just keep doing what you do best! It works, and millions love it, like myself! Carmine 💥 ⛽
So, we know you guys can build Nissan’s, Subie’s, Honda’s etc. Would you guys consider actually building 2Sexy? Convert it to AWD, 4G63 Swap it, And document how you converted it to an Evo? Because us Americans have to make early Evo’s out of Mirage’s since we only got Evo’s from gen 8-10. It would be cool to see how you guys would actually convert everything, since the parts “should” be readily available to build it.
It doesn't matter how many others have done it. Everyone has a different spin on what they do. When it comes to cars. Build it the way you want. It can all be replaced or modded. Keep up the good work guys.
When someone says "That's been done before" they are assuming that you are doing it to show us. Which is a valid critique. Especially considering that what you guys do is kind of the modern take on a "Tuner Magazine". In your case, however, you did it to have a car. You did it for the personal experience. And you did it because that is what you had. You just also happened to share it with us. Which is great.
Oi! I agree about those "it's already been done crowd", but leave my analog out of it Moog! Lol.🎺😁🎸 My favorite things use a combo of analog and digital, best of both worlds.
Those who say "It's been done" remind me of the people who also seem to want Hayabusa engines on everything. Because the Hayabusa is supposedly the only street bike engine in existence. (Building an offroad lawn tractor? Put a Hayabusa in it.) (You making a rack of pork ribs? Put a Hayabusa in it!) They both need a good back hand. :P
Yeah it has been done so really the only option is to buy one and light it on fire. But that may have been done soooooooo probably sell your gtst and is the money to buy a ragged out Kia.
Everyone’s done everything now. Just means there’s guides already there to help you out and less guessing is needed. Nothing wrong with doing the same mod as someone else. People copy wheel setups all the time because it looks good and works. Same with engine swaps. If you want to do it, do it and why would it matter in the first place if someone’s done it?
you use Kia as a brand you can mock but probably wouldn't mind owning a Kia Stinger would you? i'm not defending it, or anything, just finding it funny how perception of some brands change.
Hey guys, Been watching the show for a few years now (since the original Gramps) and learned a bunch about cars (and more importantly doing stuff yourself). Just wanted to take a few seconds to congratulate you on this car and the whole series! I hope you guys keep having as much fun as it looks like you're having! Cheers from Canada (the land of rusty cars)!
I agree for classic cars, but if you buy a 67 Stingray and original block has a big ass crack in it, you go get a new one! You don't let it waste away in the garage! Australia wouldn't let you bring the other motor? Fine build one!
Depending on what car it is, I'd love to have a match number's car. Especially my 1997 XR6 that I'm restoring but unfortunately the previous owner did a "Windows upgrade" to the original engine block at 6000rpm. So therefore it has another Tickford 4.0 engine from a Fairmont Ghia instead.
Hat's off to you fine gentlemen for supporting young people struggling with mental heath issues. It's so important and overlooked to support people before things take a turn for the worst, fixing the problem at the root rather than later on in life (or lack of), especially in today's time. You two are quite simply two amazing human beings, and maybe that's why you're this successful now, and why so many people want to be a part of what you do. You really are more than some random dudes who like cars.
@ Marty & Moog - Regarding 25:40 into this video: personally, I would like to thank you for your philosophical contributions that make the final cut. Aside from the collective epic-ness that comprises all of Mighty Car Mods; it is in seeing that there is much more to everyone involved than -just- a love for cars that sets you apart from the rest. It truly adds a level of fellowship that largely goes without due acknowledgment. It, without a doubt, is a vital component in what makes Mighty Car Mods superior. Simply: brilliant. You have brains, please, don't shy away from the philosophical rants - we relate to them!
BadKarma 714 once you have a turbo car it's hard to accept anything naturally aspirated. Your best bet is an older Subaru WRX or STI. Try to find a used one with (aftermarket) forged pistons.
Hey lads Mike's 100% correct I bought my98 with a blown motor.. I did my homework before wasting money getting on forms chat sites decided to go a stroked 2.2L running forged Cosworth internals hasn't missed a beat or a wiff of overheats since build. She's great : ) running 17psi all day spikes of 20 in the colder climates.
Congratulations boys, been watching for almost the 10 years now! For the free content we get you can’t complain, you guys are awesome and have THE BEST car related content on TH-cam and just in general! Keep it up can deffinetly see all you lads still making videos and loving cars for years to come and of course making our day and giving us 20 minutes to have a beer watch some MCM and motivate us to work on our car! Here’s to the whole MCM team, keep it up boys!!!
you guys hit the nail on the head with talking about people's comments on what your doing because someone else has done it. I had a project 84 celica supra that I stopped documenting and kind of gave up on because of people trashing my build or my ability so much i started to believe them. keep up the wicked builds, you guys have some great ideas and keep it entertaining to watch!
Matching numbers are for people who buy the car then leave it to rot in their garage hoping it will go up in value. They never drive it like it was meant to.
I wish Ryobi would release that power ratchet in the US. I've got quite a few Ryobi tools, and don't want to invest into another brand just for a power ratchet. Please Ryobi.
I prefer the Milkaukee Fuel ratchets, but I've got Ryobi for my 18v stuff since I wanted to run one battery for EVERYTHING. Yard tools, household drill, impact gun for track, battery back up for the garage door, etc etc.
So glad y'all make these videos. This build has easily became my favorite. Both of you and all your other friends that help with these videos are awesome. Glad I stumbled across your channel almost a year ago. Keep up the great work!
Loved the personal section towards the end of this video. Nice touch, glad you guys have kept down to earth and kept doing what you've done since day one
There are two types of people in the history of human kind. Those who watch and those who do. 🤙. Since watching 10.5 years of content you guys have inspired me to get into doing my own diy car repair and mods, get my manual licence and drive a car on the track. Before mighty car mods I never thought I could do these things because of my cerebral palsy. These days I think very differently. Cheers MOOG AND MARTY!!!
I bought a Ryobi wired Angle Grinder and just bout a month ago a Ryobi Drill/Impact combo with extra bit kit. Has made my home and car life SOOOO much easier.
They are all the same chassis - the S30 chassis... The bumper's and grill's can be swapped, and if your looking at getting into Classic Z's for under $35,000 your going to have to look for cars that probably need new bumpers and grills anyway... only thing is the difference is the 3 door 2+2 coupe and the 3 door coupe - the 240 was only released in the 3 door coupe, not the 2+2 body style... so find a 280 3 door coupe that is not a 2+2 and swap the bumpers and grill ;)
Tim's right, they are almost the same.. Pay attention to the block thats in the cars.. I think its the N54? block you need for the "recipe" high compression build .. Unless you're a baller like MCM but instead you dump a vette engine in it.. Then you just need to find a Z that doesn't work " shouldn't be hard" on the cheap..
I love you guys, I find it absolutely incredible that you two are still the same people that I watched so long ago. Success has not changed you, its unreal. So positive, love love love your take on the car community and what you are pushing and changing in it. MAAAAAAAAAAAD
Well. Because of you guys i performed a full body swap on my two 1993 Subaru Legacy's Turbo/SS. All because of the video of how to re shell your car. And it just so happened at the time Marty's car was a 90-94 Legacy wagon. Still one of my favorite cars ever in the MCM history. Thanks!
I've been watching your channel for about 4 years now. Love it. I've seen all the videos. The fairlady is bad ass. Can't wait to see what you guys do next. Keep up the great work gents.
I'm glad you guys have grown and evolved with this channel. It brings us so much goodness and is endlessly interesting thanks to you and your friends. Keep changing!
Your videos helped define the person I am today. Been watching since the early days of the driveway videos haha. I'm now a training mechanic who works at a mad performance workshop. Life is strange. Just wanted to say thanks for keeping the videos free and chill. You guys rock!
10 and a half years and still my #1 favorite channel/show on YT
Me too
Same here, favorite channel on TH-cam.
Every time I get a notification of a new video, I get so excited that I constantly think about it until I can get a chance to watch it!
My friends and I wait to watch each episode until we can all hang out and binge-watch each video that has been uploaded since we've been able to hang.
Mine to 👌
Shout out Ryobi for helping MCM!!
These are the type of people you need to sponsor!
actually really like their tools. price to quality is pretty good
M&R Tuning okay fan boy 👍🏻✌️
I wish USA Ryobi would get the ratchet wrench here.
I bought mine from ebay australia with a tad bit of markup...
MILWAUKEE FTW
How about a build off challenge?
Make a cheap budget ($2000-$3000). Marty and Turbo Yoda VS Moog and Mechanical Stig? (or something like that) Then have a series of challenges and best car wins. If they survive maybe do a give away one night at your restaurant.
Buddha Mack they are fun vids but they did that with taytay and wasabi
I second this. Kind of like the old top gear budget challenge as well 😅
Yeah exactly my thinking but with seeing all the modification and repair work put into it, not just the challenges.
Your ranting on "someone done this before" is pure gold. Genuine made me lol
Ryobi international should thank Ryobi Australia for their decision!!
The Ryobi news is no bad news imo! Let's be honest, some sponsorships are justified and earned, this one was well earned!
ceecrb1 yea i was like "ryobi just sponsor them already" and that was 10 videos ago.
Ryobi is a good fit for the show as well. Unlike quite a few podcasts I listen to that are sponsored by mattress manufacturers and random phone companies...
MCM is my happy place, good for them that they get the support they deserve :)
Spiritpoweredinternet nothing wrong with ryobi for the average handyman, I don't use them for work though
Nick Wall agreed
I'm really impressed with how Ryobi's marketing team stepped up.
MCM4LYF
Grant Cassar totally agree👍🏻
Amen to your words on "it has been done before". There is someone out there that was inspired by your journey and showing that to your audience.
I’m switching from DeWalt to Ryobi. Putting my order now. Thank you for supporting one of the best places to get wholesome albeit sometimes raunchy car knowledge and humor!
Thank you *_RYOBI_*
ryobi should make a set of power tools that are black and mcm labeled.
Awsome idea 💡
They should be BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!
Do you realize how few they would actually sell?
Veganpotter, 2.7 million subs on TH-cam, I'm sure that if they added them to MCM store that they would sell a few thousand, and knowing these guys most of the profit would go to charity. Win/win in my book, what could it hurt?
II McG II I'm aware of how many subs they have...I'm one of them. A few thousand units isn't worth it for a company as big as Ryobi. 20k? Maybe

2SEXY IS BACK FROM THE DEAD 2018 CONFIRMED
Bintang Sena really?
I've been here all along???!!! 😁
4G63T
tbh i more look forward to see 2sexy than this 240 XD
And Wasaabi will come to kick its a$$ again! :P
Wowowow!!! CONGRATS ON THAT RYOBI SPONSORSHIP BOYS!!! Well deserved! 🎆🎈💵✨💎✨💵🎈🎆
It only took 10 years
Was really happy about sponsorship and you guys getting some $$
Dear guys,
I live in the opposite side of the world, i've been in Sydney years ago, the better experience in my life with realized and expired dream (bought sold an 86).
I remember my friend first showing me you guys when I was 12, I'm so glad you guys are still making videos now that I'm 20 and have 2 projects going!
Matt768 do it right the first time
The amount of money I spent on my first modified car is probably double what I'll ever spend again. I did so much over the top stuff, only to realize the diminishing returns of a lot of it.
Do what you like, not what you think others will like, and have fun doing it. That's why I love MCM.
There were actually decent 240z's in WA for ~$20k before this series started. Now they are ~$80k and far less common, RIP my dreams
Dire i know right. I was saving to buy one. Than bloody roadkill did one. And i saw it coming. Then mcm did this and im fucked
lol i just looked on CL in WA, whew no thanks
You can get some decent ones in the US, just need to import them.
Man I might buy some Ryobi stuff.
Don’t get makita !
looks like a good range of handy tools.
you will be disappointed in the results.... thats like saying im gonna buy some maccas for dinner cause moog said it was healthy and they donated to charity.
I did, went crazy on the One+ kits, they are great around the workshop.
yeah ryobi makes good bit of kit :) had my collection for a while now and they put the price on the batteries that you only need couple and then you can buy reasonably priced bare tools that do their job well
I'm sure this comment will get buried, but I just wanted to say that you all make awesome videos and I'm glad that you still enjoy it after 10.5 years! This is my favorite channel on TH-cam and I hope to continue watching it for years to come.
R34 GTR's are just so overpriced now it is insane
Tech Showdown the same could be said of vls
$150,000 New Zealand +.. crazy. Considering you can get a R32 GTR for $30,000+ same for a 33.
Trends drive prices, doesn't mean it's worth that much.
Tell you what, now is the time to buy one... in a few years they'll be sold in America and you'll have to get a mortgage to own one.
Hi kev!!! R34 gtr is overhyped
Time for some rotary action !
Asriel ドリトス por ドリフトス
Corolla Man someones done that before
Gen 1 Rx7 13b turbo or 20b turbo. Yeah it's been done before :)
Arran Coote yeh not on mcm so
"Time for some rotary action!" said the Corolla Man! =P
Jet PREACH!!
Don't listen to the haters, you guys are awesome. Keep it up
Always felt like part of the "crew" back when you boys started, though hearing you say 10 and 1/2 years sureeee does put things into perspective, i was single and a teen when i started watching you guys now im married and working on my family while trying to figure out how to fit my own car project into the mix, your videos always keeps the dream alive and looking forward to another 10 and 1/2 years :D
TriniRogue exactly the same here bro. Now married too :)
Hands down one of my fav channels on TH-cam !! Cheers mates from PNW USA!
Aye Nick! Seattle boy here.
#WyomingIsBetterThanLibVille
This entire series has been GREAT! In the 1970's i raced a Datsun 260z in C Class Production. Everything was so much simpler back then. Slap in a full race cam, header, 3 Webber 2 barrels, racing suspension, spoilers & you had yourself a rocket!!! 165+ MPH top speed & i used it as my daily driver also. Never lost a street race & did well at the track. My car was called a Porsche Killer.
Started watching your channel religiously about 3 years ago. I’ve watched every episode. Keep up the good work guys! We all appreciate it.
Back to back mcm and skid factory.
You guys are spoiling us.
You might not be young in age but your spirit and love for cars is as passionate as a youngster.
So is 2sexy coming back?
I think they sold it
yes
I know they sold WaSaabi but I seem to remember 2Sexy blowing it's gearbox racing the Evo
I thought it blew the motor racing.
2SEXY is coming back, they said it was at their book launch
Trey Lewis would of been 120/130k w labor for sure
Im sure a majority of stuff they got for free. Intake, whole rear end, ecu etc
Or without mechanical friends, you'd do it yourself and spend $50k. Of course your car may not start...
Maybe you could do an R33 or R32 one day haha, doesn't have to be a 34. Either way, this was probably the most epic build you've ever done. Great work lads!
or even a R31 GTS-R :P
thinking over it, 120k $ for a GTR is a lot considering the alternatives...
you can get a Tommy Kaira M25 for less than 10k... but it's only RWD though.
if 4WD is a must there is the underlooked Nissan Stagea, convert it from automatic to manual and youbasically get an GTR Wagon. would be a nice build like a supergramps 2.0.
then it is the R32 GTR's.... not that insane amount of cash as the R34 GTR's and specially the V-spec models.
or could skip Nissan in total and go for the total underdog of the class, the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 but that car would maybe be to "non-sleeper" for MCM.
Gotta be an r34 lol. Theres an import company here in canada that gets them for super cheap (under 10k) somehow
R34s are not that expensive in Australia 10-20k...but much more for a GTR
ohmcanada where? Am I buy right now got 10k burning my pocket
Abraham gerardo Frago Perez lol velocity imports in british columbia, they dont always have them but they do get them
it is sad how many people wont understand or dont want to understand how much more important good powerband is over peak power.
That's why people love the LS, the torque and power curve on any reasonably well built LS is a thing of beauty. Like anything in life there are bad examples of them as well.
For a normal street car, I slightly agree. But for a track car or a sports car I like those that you have to rev out. :)
$40,000 holy shit I was expecting way less. I guess a mint condition car fetches mint condition prices no matter where it is.
c0rse it cheap
A real 240z fairlady is 2x that price now in japan. We're talking 1970-1973 models.
c0rse I was surprised at $40k too. I went she..iiitte😬
30k USD
Wow thats expensive for sure
I know people who have spent 30k USD just building their engine. It's really not that bad.
I’m getting sick of TH-cam/Internet comments on the whole. How you put up with it I don’t know 😂 What’s even worse is I bet the majority of people that have some negative criticism haven’t even used a spanner... Keep up the great work 🤙🏼
Never in my life, I have used most common sizes of metric and SAE wrenches though.
every time im meant to do uni stuff
Thank you very much for keeping those of us who are living in countries where people don't think about cars and engineering as very much interesting, staying connected to the automotive world.Really appreciate it
Guys you did a wonderful job on the Fairlady. Probably your best build yet. I'm 54 years old and I appreciate a modified Car over a matching numbers Car. It's about pushing the Car beyond what it was originally engineered to do. If I had that Car and had the money, I love to do the same thing. You took a 5 figure Car and made it a 6 figure Car. Well done keep up the good work!!!!
So much wisdom in that video
Marty car moogs
The Succ good one😂
Next build....use a rotary engine, they sounds...just awesome 😍😍😍😍
About: done before comments...ppl need to realize...everybody give his ore her project, they're own " personal twist". That make it so special!!!
Just keep up the good work boy's😋
Chris H Bee one day they will have to do a rota. They've done everything except one ;)
Might be LAST choice for many! For Me, now, it represented Power (with a LOT of room for improvement today!!). It represented "American Plushiness", a Roomy, Comfortable, decent Handling and Pleasant Driving Experience... *TO ME.*
I will never again have the money, time, Work Area, or the Physical Ability, to ever Build me another 300ZX...
Moog and Marty, you Guys hit on a very valid point in this Episode. *DON'T BUILD SOMETHING FOR THE INTERNET!*
Build something that will put a Smile on your Face, every time you slip behind the Wheel.
Sage Advice Mates!! I wish more would follow that.
Cheers to another 10 Years!!! 🍺👍👍🍻🍺🍺🍺

*TO ADD......*
I hit the Link you mentioned regarding actual TH-cam Video COST...
*NEEDS TO READ THAT BLOG!!*
It staggers me, how many Spoiled, Entitled, "Everyone's a Winner" Basement Warriors are out there.
Just keep doing what you do best! It works, and millions love it, like myself!

I subbed to this channel for the Fairlady build. That is one SWEET ride! IMO, it's your best build so far.
I wanted to import an R33 GT-R to replace my R33 GTS-T, but someones already done it before :'(
Jarsky gtst is dope too tho
Yeah it has been done so really the only option is to buy one and light it on fire. But that may have been done soooooooo probably sell your gtst and is the money to buy a ragged out Kia.
Or just do it anyways?
Everyone’s done everything now. Just means there’s guides already there to help you out and less guessing is needed. Nothing wrong with doing the same mod as someone else. People copy wheel setups all the time because it looks good and works. Same with engine swaps. If you want to do it, do it and why would it matter in the first place if someone’s done it?
you use Kia as a brand you can mock but probably wouldn't mind owning a Kia Stinger would you? i'm not defending it, or anything, just finding it funny how perception of some brands change.
Hey guys,
Been watching the show for a few years now (since the original Gramps) and learned a bunch about cars (and more importantly doing stuff yourself).
Just wanted to take a few seconds to congratulate you on this car and the whole series! I hope you guys keep having as much fun as it looks like you're having!
Cheers from Canada (the land of rusty cars)!
Thanks guys! 10.5 years has been great! looking forward to what the next 10 years have in store! Thanks again from COLORADO, USA!!!!
Hey guys, i get those who like matching numbers cars, but you guys killed it. Love this build.
Gearhead Daily i
Lets be honest, no one is ever going to care about a 2008 corolla.
Happens to be my favorite car of all time.
LOL!
I like to sleep as well, but I guess someone's already done that so I can't really do it.
also breathing is nice...but i guess i need to stop cause its been done already
Steady breathing is overrated
Just finished the new skid factory vid and this pops up, sweet.....
Same here hahaha
cardesinr subbed
Me too, so I've lost 1 hours worth of work today.
OK NOW BUILD A ROTARY!
The crank shaft is a rotary.
Nick McGarvey I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE WANKEL ROTART ENGINE
That was what we call a "joke".
I can already see turbo yoda's face when they blow the 5th apex seal
You guys got me into wanting a turbo car I have been watching for 4 years now I remember the videos you guys where doing at your moms house
BadKarma 714 once you have a turbo car it's hard to accept anything naturally aspirated. Your best bet is an older Subaru WRX or STI. Try to find a used one with (aftermarket) forged pistons.
Mike - Have you got a particular year WRX that you like? I'm in the same boat as BadKarma.
I prefer Milwaukee tools but amazing you guys got Ryobi sponsorship!! Congrats!!
agree there, though i like Hitachi for some tools better than Milwaukee and other way around.
but damn good sponsors are always nice.
They’re both owned by the same shell corporation so you’re kinda still supporting mcm
If it ain't Mikita all day send it away mate
I much prefer super tool.
Another question is where do you guys store all your project car.?
I've got a question. Did you licence a track to Farming Simulator. One track on their in game radio sounds a lot like your work.
Robert Browne finally somebody's asking the real questions
We want to see 2sexy alive again! #prayfor2sexy
Luis E. Peña worst thing mcm has done in a while. God i hope it doesn't return
Justin McMullen building a dedicated track day car was the “worst thing”? Really?
Please do an R53 mini build and compare it to the vtec mini
I wish I could find a 240z around here.. 280s EVERYWHERE.
A. David there 260z they look similar than 240z while the 280z is the ugly one
I wish I could fing at least one 280z in my country
Flint Travius L30 isn’t it? N54 is a BMW motor I think
Re: "It's been done before"
I only have one thing to say: "It's not about the destination, it's about the journey"...
200%
I love you guys, I find it absolutely incredible that you two are still the same people that I watched so long ago. Success has not changed you, its unreal. So positive, love love love your take on the car community and what you are pushing and changing in it. MAAAAAAAAAAAD
Well. Because of you guys i performed a full body swap on my two 1993 Subaru Legacy's Turbo/SS.
All because of the video of how to re shell your car. And it just so happened at the time Marty's car was a 90-94 Legacy wagon.
Still one of my favorite cars ever in the MCM history.
Thanks!
Because of you guys I started buying Ryobi tools lol

"You want it to be nice down low, your date and the car"
Your videos helped define the person I am today. Been watching since the early days of the driveway videos haha. I'm now a training mechanic who works at a mad performance workshop. Life is strange. Just wanted to say thanks for keeping the videos free and chill. You guys rock!
Greetings from Canada. This is the absolute best car mod show on the internet. And a big shout out to you guys because you still don't have a paywall!
