      It's not the children that put parents in trouble. It's parents who bring with them their child rearing skills that don't pass muster in the West. Unlike in Nigeria, children in the West are protected from abusive parents and schools and health services are the first line defence in this

    Thanks for sharing this Tochi, very well put together. There are many types of jobs that can be done from home, we are in the gig economy, I will encourage parents to make the sacrifices and retrain, especially if both parents are having to work long hours. Tochi had an episode with Kingsley from Codehance a few months ago, I join his training program after watching it and my training is going very well. My goal is to work fewer hours and make more money in the future. This country can be tough, let's not overdo things and Child Protection is an industry of its own here, you don't want your name or the name of your family in their record.

    This is serious oo Tochi....
    What about sending the children back home to grow up and be cultured in Africa...... Won't it stop most of these nonsense??? Atleast bring them over when they must have grown and known where they are coming from....
    Because the way kids are trained here makes them end up to be reckless, every street in UK is filled with mannerless kids smoking and partying here and there. They don't have regard for their parents or elders. Even our African people that bring their kids over, under 1year or 2years of being in the UK, they talk back to their parents, they keep acting mannerlessly and do anyhow because you are prohibited from disciplining them.
    I have a friend who has 2 daughters 8yrs and 5yrs, but they are just ill mannered, they have only been here for 1yr and 6months now, they can't do anything, their mom does everything including to carry their plates and wash them after every meal.
    A child of 8yrs in Africa is already responsible to some extent and atleast can wash plates, can respect mum and dad and even have respect and regard for visitors when they visit their parents.
    But over here everything is Zero and the kids ends up rotten, at the end of the day and when they grow old it becomes very clear to them that the have children but same time lack children because they didn't train them in a way they should grow.

      Kids aren't animals to be "trained", in your words, and typically in the words of a lot of African parents. You've just proved the point of why there may be heightened concern

    I think they ask all kids questions regardless of the race. I used to work in a nursery and I heard a teacher asking a girl about her mom and his new bf. Apparently her parents just divorced and they are concerned about the child’s welfare. Also the questions they ask pregnant women and new moms are routine because they are vulnerable and prone to depression

    I am a social worker and to be honest child proceedings is the very last result. There are hardly any foster carers so I would not assume that social workers are looking to take children in to care. However even I have changed the way I raised my children which is different from my own cultural upbringing. Those newly moving to the UK must also adapt.

    • @vaughnwilliams1208

      What nonsense, UK is the only country in the world that has more social workers than doctors. Government obviously wants to steal more and more kids . They reduce the legal threshold to steal children more and more, "future emotional harm" is the latest harvesting method for them. Social workers must have an incentive scheme to steal children.
      There is a whole secret legal system behind it all , social workers seem to be encouraged to ignore the laws. Childrens' Act laws were changed in the Tony Blair era that encouraged adoption , child stealing. Council's receive £33,000 for each child they take for adoption (increased in April) and every children's service directors has a limited company with huge contracts. Care home stays cost more than the most expensive private school. Foster agencies now change hands for billion pounds and more !
      You must wonder about the intentions if you study all this, not only financial.

    • @cherylparry8032
      @cherylparry8032 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mrafam626don't bring kids to the UK, they're big money to social services. Adverts for social worker jobs even state they must have a passion for adoption. That'll be because of the adoption bonus. These animals will lie and tell you that they don't make money from adoption, but a major newspaper shamed a local authority, and that was just one. I don't know how these evil parasites sleep at night. I've more respect for drug dealers and sex workers, and that's saying something, but they don't steal children.

    You said it @3:36; "Here in the UK, children are very important...". The implication is that in a lot of African countries, societies and communitirs, children are not viewed as important. This is so true. Children are almost the property of their parents. Children's agency is not respected. And, this sometimes boarders on abuse, coersion and neglect, couched as discipline or to use the words of many parents, "training"! Or, that old chestnut "... it's our culture and tradition..", as if relating in a toxic way to children is something to be proud of. It's a lame and lazy excuse! Of course, there will be instances of stereotyping, profiling and even racism, when it comes to the lens of social services, but 'the culture' also has a lot to answer. As for the idea that Africans are loud v Europeans are quiet, have you heard how, for instance, white working class northerners (that's my observed experience) speak with each other?

  • @ifehansson2254
    @ifehansson2254 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Cases of abuse occur often with 'imported' wives where the African husband brings in a wife and proceeds to abuse and control her. There are so many such cases so the midwives are trained to look out for such cases and will take the opportunity to converse with the wife when they have access to her without her husband. Some imported wives are scared to talk because their African husband's threaten to have them deported.

    • @thetwinklegg8121

    • @amarapeace745
      @amarapeace745 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      There are a lot of discipline that works without yelling or hitting...
      We simply discuss the consequences for each action and for any misbehaviour, there is a consequence. However do well to give consequences that match the offence. For instance a child gets 3 extra days of washing when he fails to wash the dishes...another one is withdrawal of privileges...Also you can ignore and revisit the matter when you are calm. There are many things you can do and cant type all

    I was a children social worker and I don’t believe A midwife would refer you to social services if you told them your husband wasn’t helping you out. Midwives and Health Visitors have a duty to ask these questions because a lot happens behind closed doors. I was asked the same when I had my 1st and 2nd born. They ask questions about your mental health so I don’t particularly feel that black families are being targeted however, it is well known that majority of parents from BAME has a very unhelpful imposing boundaries and discipline and I have dealt with Nigerian families who just think beating a child is the right and only way to get a child to behave. Trust me the amount of work that goes into removing a child(ren) from their family and a good social worker would do everything to ensure that they support the family to prevent a child being place in care.

There have been high level government complaints to UK government about stealing of kids, especially from Eastern Europe. It's just NOT NORMAL, that families leave the country to get away from these tyrants. Social workers always deceive themselves that they are doing good things, by breaking laws, they are truly despicable people.

      Really?why would they ask my then 5 year old child if me and my then Ghanaian boyfriend if we take 'white powder?' Where on earth did that come from? Also that he was verbally abusive towards me because he speaks loudly, he is just naturally loud. YOU think we are dumb and don't know what's going on? I will sue the next person whosoever comes at me with that crap ever again.I broke up with a very good man because of people like you because I was afraid to lose my child.Shame on you.Job my foot.😒🙄

    There have been so many high-profile cases of abuse, particularly of children, in this country that we would not feel these people were doing their job if they did not ask these questions. They are trying to identify problems before they escalate, and if they do have concerns their role is to help, not to scare you. It happens to everyone with children and has nothing to do with race, colour, cultural background, but everything to do with trying to ensure the safety of mother and child. Years ago, it didn’t happen and concerns would be ignored, resulting in the deaths of small, helpless children. The public and the authorities would never forgive a professional who allowed such things to happen today.

      Any country that allows newborn babies to be stolen from mothers for ANY reason is not doing that to help babies. The threshold for stealing children was lowered to including "future emotional harm" which can be construed as anything really. The social workers are nearly all women, mostly nasty ones. Often lesbians, often left wing, sonetimes ugly childless women who know nothing about children . They nearly always leave their own children in daycare centres, but that's all normal "emotional harm" to these crazy people.

    • @trixluxedesigns
      @trixluxedesigns ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they do, a lot of the times particularly if there are multiple partners involved and especially if they have had previous social work involvement. Social Workers will also ask questions relating to drinking and drugs, any history of domestic abuse, your own history of being parented etc. there aren’t set questions for black families only or British families only as an holistic assessment has to be done however, I do believe things like Female Genital mutilation (FGM), Breast Flattening and Forced Marriages and Honour base killing maybe asked of people of Black and Ethnic Minorities and British may not be asked the same because it isn’t an issue that is common within their culture. Issues of Radicalisation and Extremism are also asked of both BAME and British ❤

    when my first son was four he banged his head while playing football and had a concussion with a big bump on his head so I called an ambulance.when they arrived I told them what had taken place .my son had also told the lady how he banged his head.At the time I was seven months pregnant. I went to use the toilet,while I was gone this lady who is the ambulance worker asked my son did your mummy bang your head? my son said I banged my head while playing.she then asks my son how often does your mummy smack you?I dont beat nor have I ever smacked my children. I only always talk to them, so my four year old son was very offended by her statement.She then said said to him how many times does your mummy smack you? and where does she smack you?does she smack you like this?that was the final straw for my four year old son.He told her straight I dont know what your talking about.He then asks her are you deaf or just plain stupid? you've asked me and I have told you. Are you trying to get me to lie??? ahh so my son looks at this women confused.her work colleague asks what's going on.My son then complains,saying she keeps on repeatedly telling me how my mum hits and smacks me but that's not true.I come back from the toilets and my friend burst out laughing telling that your son just told her off, she was trying to put words in his mouth.

    Social services should be practicing cultural competence regarding those of different ethnicities. They ask the majority of those questions to everyone as safeguarding is important however some questions they will ask specifically to those from certain cultures for example they may ask about fgm

    On the institution. If a psykic deny the crime then they question the neglect. Its the same principle....if they take a child based on that a father wait in car outside kindergarten while mother go inside and bring child...and when father question how they think. They question why father dont understand...and that itself is proof this man is a bad father

    I took my son to short stay emergency after he had a fall in school with an injury. The nurse asked me to provide all the names of the children below 18 years old and this was the first time that I have been asked this question, she also asked if we are under a social worker, I answered no, I gave her the details of my other children I just couldn't be bothered to ask why she needed this details bearing in mind it was a fall in school.
    Maybe it is something new whereby they have to ask about other children when one takes their child to a hospital.

    Please stop spreading lies. I am a social worker and work for social services, There are some Africans parents that put work before their children and refuse to adapt to the UK culture. My children are now 27,23 and 21. As a family we have never had any involvement with social services. I have been in the UK all my adult life. The questions asked when you are pregnant are routine. There are parents who leave their children home alone to go for night duty or travel to Africa. Please you should have checked the statistics before making this video. You seem to be generalising without having first hand information. Please take your time and learn before misleading people. There is a family whose children burnt to death after being left unattended over night, according to you social services should be parenting African children. Please sis you are biased

      @@bonniesalima1478 I stated facts as someone who works in the system. In your opinion is social services targeting African families? You can put the evidence here to back up her claims. The abuse that goes on African families both towards children and women is out of this world and as professionals we will not turn a blind eye. The culture here is different. Leaving your child over night without an adult in the home is neglect according to the law. You either have to change the law or adapt otherwise social services will be on your case.

      @@namagembe67 ma, you obviously read this post biased. Tochi gave real life examples of the happenings in the UK and even encouraged parents on how to balance work and home.
      She NEVER expressly stated that the Social workers were targeting black and just so you know, I was also born in UK and same questions were asked my mum, and when they visited us, they kept asking/probing mum to know if dad was offering support and help.
      Tochi kind of gave a heads up for those who this is their first time aboard and what to expect.
