I am a year in my last day is 4/30 .... I can’t do it anymore ... I am always thinking about work and the children on my load, anxiety that everything is gonna be my fault if something goes wrong, the workload and expectations are RIDICULOUS... the vicarious trauma is a lot and the job is emotionally and mentally taxing like VERY taxing. I am always tired !!! Tough decision to leave my career and the stability and benefits but I have to leave for my mental and physical health

Thank you have much for sharing your experience with me. I have been wanting to become a social worker forever and I am still working toward this career or something similar to being a social worker. I am glad that you have enlightened me about not having a support network in the child protection field, which is an area that you have embarked on before watching this video. You have made me realize that this is not the area would like to embark on, because as we all know as human beings we need concrete support both in a work and home environment to move forward and get the job done, Thank you once again for your video and good luck with your future aspirations. I believe that no matter what field of work you go in there is always a lack of support which can make it very difficult for everyone concerned. Management, supervisors etc please provide the resources so that we can do our jobs safely and know that we are following protocol.

"1/3/05 From YahuShua HaMashiach, Our Lord and Savior
The Word of The Lord Spoken to Timothy
For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear
Hear the Word of The Lord, all those who seek to know wisdom and receive understanding, all those who love the Truth, for thus says The Lord: I have spoken, and behold, I speak once again, that all who love the little ones may be encouraged and have peace; and so this most wicked generation may know My anger and tremble in fear.
I ask you, what is a child’s inheritance on earth and in Heaven, if the years of their life be few in number and they remain in their innocence? Assuredly, I say to you, they will inherit The Kingdom of Heaven, for The Father holds the pure of heart in the palm of His right hand. For like the firefly which alights upon the tall grass, so are these little ones, precious lights shining among men.
Therefore, woe to those who catch them and shut them away! Woe to any who do them harm! AND WOE, EVEN THREE TIMES WOE, TO ALL WHO EXTINGUISH THEIR LIGHT! For behold, I am coming quickly with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, to remove the light, to take from the earth My own,[1] and this world shall be plunged into darkness! For judgment shall fall from Heaven, covering the face of the earth like a flood! Behold, as a terrible deluge, punishment from on high shall break out against them and wash them away, until every last trace of evil and wickedness is utterly destroyed!
And though the little ones may suffer
At the hands of men in this world,
I tell you the truth, all arrive at The Father’s house
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye...
Where healing is complete and every tear is wiped away...
The ways of the world and men forgotten...
Only love abides, as they look upon
The face of their Father forever.
Yet the scholars cry, “What of the inheritance of sin, and those born with the burden of sin upon them?”
Listen and have understanding, humble yourselves that you may gain wisdom, and hear the Word of The Lord: All people are born as babes from their mother’s womb, into a world of sin. So then, all born by way of water and blood are born into sin, not of sin. For how can one who comes from The Kingdom of Heaven, created by the hand of God, have sin upon them? Therefore, you do greatly err. For these little ones do not yet know the ways of the world and men; they have not yet eaten from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.[2] They remain in their innocence.
Therefore, I ask you, who has blemished My fireflies?
Who has tarnished their light? What has corrupted My gifts?!...
MEN AND THE WORKS OF EVIL IN THIS WORLD!...
Thus these little ones, even these young ones
Corrupted by men, need not repent,
For The Son of Man died for them also...
For their cleansing is of that covenant
Which has remained unspoken and constant,
In the loving mercy of God, from the beginning...
      Says The Lord."

I honestly feel Cps should have removed our grandchild temporarily while the case was fully and throughly investigated. Considering the nature of the case and mom refusing to leave the boyfriend and breaking most if not all the conditions Cps placed. My experience has actually been one that CPS is joke. No wonder my grandchild’s mother doesn’t fear them. We have expressed valid concerns concerns. CPS is fully aware and claim they are very valid but yet nothing is done. I was not the one who reported her. There was an outcry and her boyfriend was arrested. We feel hopeless. When you’ve gotten to the point that your mental health or well being have been compromised, you also become a risk to the population that you serve because you may miss very important details for a case etc. For example, I went out on a case one time and completely missed the fact that there was present danger. I was overloaded with 39 other cases (several of them were 60 days cases that needed to be closed that day) and I just didn’t even realize. When my supervisor called me and asked me I told her that I was just so overwhelmed I didn’t even recognize the fact that there was present danger. That is not true, read the replies, social worker fabricate evidence, they are coerced into cherry picking information that is disclosed to the family courts, these are behind closed doors, so not held to account, social services have unlimited funds to spend on court cases, the parent has some legal aid if lucky. Most reports are malicious, but must be acted on, they deal with all types and the take kids from families when they should not as well as when they should. On another note if SS were a parent they would have the kids removed because statically the child will fail., it is a failing system that needs overhaul and oversight.

    • @loud6037

@@ritasmith4335 That's very untrue. Local authorities as a whole do not like parents who rock the boat or challenge them and any one of them will weaponise social services and or the EWS to intimidate you into falling into line. They took an interest in me when my daughter was struggling to attend school, she would get very anxious and distressed and wasn't coping when she was there. They did not want to support her or listen to my concerns that she may be autistic. As I tried to get her assessed and pushed for them to support her, they denied there was anything wrong with her, she was just naughty, manipulative etc and I must be a 'permissive parent'. When I refused to back down and accept their assessment of the situation, they became increasingly hostile and began making all kinds of malicious reports about me. They were hellbent on blocking me at every turn, especially when I challenged them on the way they were treating a clearly distressed child. I even got in touch with the NSPCC who told me in no uncertain terms that their tactics to try and force her into school without support would be considered emotional abuse in any other situation. I had done nothing wrong, yet I still had them in and out of my life for years for doing nothing but protecting my child as is my duty. Of course, in the end, I was proved correct on ALL counts, I knew my child better than they did, I understood my own situation better than they did. The last attempt at reporting me to SS ended in disaster for the school, as she went straight back and told them to back the hell off and let me parent. She said she didn't want to see one more false report land on her desk. Heads rolled.
LA fought tooth and nail to stop me protecting my child and making sure her needs were met, even after she was diagnosed they tried to stop me getting her a statement. This happens to a LOT of parents, especially when it comes to schools, who I believe are the main culprits in abusing social services against parents.
In my case, if it wasn't for EWO's and the social workers, I wouldn't have been able to defend myself against the school, by showing that I was in fact the only one who had my child's best interests at heart. So I was lucky. Many more are not.
Once social services have access to you, those that are corrupt will hang on to any little thing to justify being involved and keep harassing you - maybe you left the dishes in the sink overnight, or you have the weeks ironing piling up, or some other silly thing, while you were distracted because you were going through hell. Thank god mine could see what the school were doing and forced them to stop.
Sure they deal with some people who shouldn't have children, but they deal with many more who should never have been reported. All families face adversity of some sort at times, it doesn't usually require outside help, and if it does, most parents are perfectly capable of asking for it. They get involved with just the most banal and typical family trials quite often. And whether you are a good parent or not, it is still incredibly humiliating and stressful having to jump through their hoops to show it. It's a huge violation having someone come into your home like that, even if your social worker is the nicest person in the world. You didn't invite them into your world. Your sense of peace and safety and privacy is gone. It's akin to being burgled.

We are a married couple with a two-year-old son, recently we had Child Protection Conference. The Social Worker has lied so much in the report so much that it made my wife cry during the conference. The lies were deep, her report had been fabrications all over it the levels she went into writing the report to ensure she achieved her goal was sad. She brought up really old concerns that had been resolved, even the Chair “Main person” told her there are too many old concerns. There is lie so much lies I have made a list of the lying. Does any one have any advise for ideas or support ?

I have been in my opinion wrongly put on a cpp, my son is 13 years old and they put it on the emotional category but yet in the plan is all about unsupervised when he is out with his friends which is ridiculous as he has a mobile so I always know where he is, he also doesn't agree with any of it too, makes me so mad as he is at no risk of any harm at all, also because of his very low school attendance, which the school referred them

    • @banana9106
      @banana9106 2 ปีที่แล้ว

My son has autism and another complex disorder. In the last week of High school the special needs co-ordinator reported us to social services because I wouldn't allow him to walk to school on his own. I explained to her that my son is unable to perceive distances and speeds and this made it too unsafe for him to walk to school alone, I pointed out to her that this had been tested objectively by medical specialists and this was contained in a report. She called me ableist and reported me to social services.
Social services came to my home and interviewed me and my child. I was not pleased about it, but I realise the guy had a job to do and made him as welcome as possible under the circumstances. I pointed out the assessment in the medical specialists report and said that I still felt that my son's judgement when it came to crossing roads is off and that my son acquires skills at his own pace rather than at a pace that might suit his teacher. I also pointed out that just because a child wants to do something, it is not necessarily the best course of action to allow them to do it if you feel the level of risk is not commensurate with a child's abilities or level of development.
The social worker's reaction was, that we had not failed on any of their abuse indicators. They look for a good level of school attendance and make sure that your child is not persistently late and that they are participating in PE lessons. This is so that physical abuse can be precluded. My son is well fed, my home is clean and there are appropriate adaptations to his needs. We have never heard from them since and the teacher that made the report has been demoted as she wasted social services resources.
My advice to you. Make sure you have a good excuse for his low school attendance, even if the excuse is that he is being bullied or he feels that he is being victimised by a teacher. Put a stop to the unsupervised time. They clearly think that you're son is mixing with the wrong types. Make an effort to get him into activities where he will mix with the right types. If social services come to your home, make sure that it is clean, make sure the 'fridge is full, hide any smoking materials and alcohol, put on tea/coffee and home made cakes, if you can not make them yourself, order them from your local Women's Institute. Offer to go to any classes or support groups that they think will help you improve things OR have proof of what you do attend, that way they can not say that you are not reacting appropriately to whatever the issues are.

How often did you feel like you couldn’t help your client because working with them put you through trauma?
Do you think as a social worker you guys got the credit you deserved?
Did you ever go home worsting that you can’t help the child because it is hard to help the parent?
If you can too can you explain more about the difficulties you went through being a social worker and if there was any positive sides to it as well

What you said that hit me was the complexity in the cases, your client's thinking, and helplessness - how they couldn't see a way out. I feel maybe you were overwhelmed with your client's poverty mentality. I think that would be a challenge.
    Thanks for the insight.

    • @lakeltrajones5
      @lakeltrajones5 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I partially disagree with this comment. Partially because as a CPS caseworker I run across many with the poverty mentality; however many if not all were a product of their environment. With the right encouragement and inspiration, many of my families not only desired to become better but also put in the work. My struggle as a caseworker is seeing the many barriers surrounding the families along with the 12 month time frame to “get everything right.” Many of us are privileged and quickly judge cards we’ve never been dealt. Even myself as a woman of color consider myself privileged. Yes I worked hard to to get to were I am and yes I had to fight through some of those barriers; however, many of my families have gone through things that I can’t ever fathom.
There’s many different variables here and the systemic barriers play a HUGE role in hopelessness. No matter how much progress some of these families have made, there’s always someone privileged with a degree on the other side pointing out what they still haven’t done, should’ve done better, or did in the past. While I’m not saying ignore past history, there’s second chances and a turn around for everyone if only we saw them differently than the poor decisions they’ve made.

Record everything and keep those recordings as evedence if needed in future court case. Be very diligent about collecting all evedence including making foi requests for all files Inc the running files of the case . Do not rely on the social worker to automatically offer any support that is needed. If support around DV , drug addiction , parenting , or metal health is needed seek this out yourself take the initiative . I would recommend the social services and family courts help and advice FB group if you have an open case . Seek advise from the group files and administrators . The system is very disfuntional so you need to keep your wits about you when dealing with it.

Is it normal to have a CPS worker admit she should be writing things down but wasn’t? Didn’t want the proof of the issue? Told me after visiting my
Ex (the accused) she knows everything about me because he told her my whole life story? Told my son that I’m not innocent and discouraged him from believing his mom is good?
Ignored the fact that he gave my underage child alcohol ( we had proof in hand) and said they don’t involve police?
Because of her siding with the parent who has money and cried his “I’m just trying to be a good dad” crocodile tears. She dismissed everything my kids told her. Didn’t look at any proof. Admitted she wasn’t even writing things down. Made fun of my town and where we lived.
Now there’s a criminal investigation after having to report some of the same things to a cop.
I’ve called the CPS supervisor over ten times and I’m being ignored.
What can I do? I also have every encounter with her recorded so I can prove she admitted she wasn’t writing things down and her making fun of our town and home. Even telling my son im not innocent.
    Help!!!! 🙏🏼

well done for leaving i understand there is a need to protect children but when anything and everything is now classed as abuse when reports are negative and manipulated. When people are discriminated against for disabilities and not helped to stay with their kids. Kids who love their parents . One thing i never understood is why when parents turn up for contact it is considered good for the children to see them weekly yet after court and if they don't come back . You only get to see them once or less a month for a few hours. The amount of distress this causes on the parents as well as the children even though there all trying to make the best of things must and is perhaps the most cruel inhumane treatment of individuals that this country commits on its people.

Part of the problem is down to the way that support has diminished for parents over the years. The new Universal Credit arrangements mean that people are being left with not enough to live on. But the reality is that the problems that causes, probably costs more than paying a manageable rate of state benefits in the first place.

They don't know God. There's God. He's our creator and father and has ANSWERS to ALL our problems. People SHOULD seek Him, and stop relying on their LIMITED human abilities.

Why do they tall the parents about the investigation? If taking the kids is rare, but they tell the parents about everything, doesn’t that put the kids in danger?
If my dad found out I told someone about everything, he’d go mental, and it would end badly. And I’d be stuck there, because they wouldn’t want to remove me.
I really want to tell someone about everything, cuz o can’t take it anymore, but I’m really scared about what will happen to me if I do. If he found out, it would end badly

If you are being abused in any way yes tell someone anyone a teacher , a police officer even called protective services yourself . Yes you hear alot of bad things about them I have had them in my life twice . 11 years ago I and now . 11 years ago i needed it but not now and I'm fighting them, but I haven't harmed my kids so they don't deserve to pulled out of their home but if your being hurt in your home you do need out of that home please don't be scared it will be the best relief and it may not be easy but no one deserves to be abused and hurt I their home with their family. Believe in what ever is your higher power mine is God and step on that faith that these horror stories will not be your case. These stories you here are from parents that know nothing never was wrong to begin with. You need to be placed else where besides your home please seek help .

CYF destroyed my sons life. He was removed bcus of his pot smoking and truancy. He had asked his therapist for help with the pot and was told he’d be fine. We had services through the district in our home every morning to help me get him ready for school bcus Im disabled in severe pain and he’s mentally ill with adhd, mood disorder and behavior issues which worsened after his father, both uncles and our best friend the last man in our lives had died in a period of 2 years. Meanwhile I had put my son in a very good special ed program in a very good school district and lived in an apartment I could not afford for this purpose and they transferred him to the “bad kid” school because he brought pot to school. I had friends in highschool High n drunk, one of them is now a police officer. But they altered my sons future over pot. So he would say why bother going to school we don’t do anything. They spend more time there stopping fights than learning. So even with the morning truancy’prigram they couldn’t get him in every day. But that’s my fault? I even called CYF and asked for help and got one visit by a worker whom they later said they had no knowledge of. They put him in a shelter at Glen mills. Which was in the process of investigation fir abuse and was shit down. At the next Shelter he was sexually assaulted. In foster care he was emotionally abused and another child was removed after she choked him. They took him off his psych meds and changed his mental health provider without my input and the therapist didn’t even know my son had a history of treatment. My son was training yo become a police officer and I could see he was decompensating and they ignored me even laughed at me. I’m a trained mental health case worker before my disability. And his dad was bipolar so I kept telling them he’s acting just like his dad. Every time he ran away or threatened suicide they blamed me. Even though he told them it was the foster care. He begged to go back to the shelter!
He ran away, dropped out of school in 12th grade and refused to talk to anyone until he was allowed to go home. After speaking to the judge privately about what has happened to him in CYF custody the judge ordered him returned home!
I can’t rewind his decompensation now. He is a full time job just keeping him home and not on the streets like he was when he ran away. He’s gotten charges when he ran away for assaults bcus he lost his damn mind and was so manic he wasn’t recognizable as himself anymore.
    They DESTROYED HIS FUTURE!
I am a damn good mom. All his friends lived with us weeks and months at a time bcus their parents knew I was takin care of them. Not even allowed out past dark. I knew where he was at all times
I NEVER LOST MY SON FOR AN HOUR THEY LIST HIM FOR MONTHS
