Still in the beginning of my journey 35 years in - a basshed/rivethed but for industrial (Zoth Ommog (now Infacted), Cop Int'l, Reconstriction, Alfa Matrix, etc.) and trance (Astral Projection, Iono Records, Estefano Haze).
Nice choice 👌 The Odyssey really surprised me. Great tonality with quality bass and instrument separation. I enjoy it a lot more than the Elysian Pilgrim, seriously. I sold my Dusk and Da Vinci as well, after getting the Odyssey. More affordable sets are getting really good. Enjoy the music
When I first started, I also focused heavily on the bass rather than the upper mids and highs. I considered iems good if it made me feel the music and made me want to close my eyes and bop my head. Fast forward to today, while I still do consider these things very important, I've come to appreciate things like clarity, depth, intimacy, having good separation and detail in the sound as well. Other factors like where the vocals are in respect to my head space, not being too fatiguing to listen to(too bright or too boomy, sibilance, etc.), comfort and pressure buildup in the ear, condensation problems, driver flex issues, etc. are also some of the things I consider. Love how you described each iem. How do these compare with the Deuce I wonder? As always, thanks for the detailed review!
Actually my tastes have changed in the same way as you, more or less.. After three years in this hobby, I am looking for things I didn't even know about when I started, like imaging, stage, layering, and mids have become important, to be well textured and not thin, and good air in treble region, but not sharp.. Also bass bust be fast but deep and also have good texture and can hear the upper harmonics.
Bass was definitely the first thing I chased coming off of just basic ipod earbuds. And I love a kick now and then. But bass for bass's sake is less preferable for me compared to bass that complements the music and helps give that sense of space and presence of whatever I'm listening to, whether music movie or gaming.
@ awesome, can’t wait to see your impressions. If you get a chance stop by the campfire audio booth and try the Clara. It is amazing I’d love to know your thoughts about it.
Well starting out I wasn’t sure what I liked. And now I have the mest mk2 realizing that I really like mids more than anything haha but solid breakdown on the two sets
I feel like if Ziigaat hadn't colab'd on the Arcadia, it and the Odyssey would have been the DosCinco/CincoTres 2.0/Pro with a more "meta tune" JM1 profile.
Hey cutest, I'm kinda bz lately..so late watchin' ur vid rev.,sory Hmm I'm kinda W shapes tuned currently..it's nice to know u r a low end lover aswell..Me? I'm goin' further. with the low end I mean..Texture of it not quantity but quality as they recorded it. Sure fatfreak, that'd pronounce it..Grand maestro beb the best Period...ur nails r much mo beautiful beb..Punch r the best frm him..He's 1 of the old timer in this industry Not the oldest, among em..Jupiter beb..his high end colabs. Hmm odessy For me The new Theiaudio Origin better then those 2 but ha2 prices..Bye beb..Peace!
I’d say refined. These have lovely treble extension. Try wide bore JVC Spiral Dot tips. they opened up the treble further while still having good bass.
@@moonsofjupiter It may have been on one particular song I noticed, because listening today everything seemed right. I still have to spend a lot more time with it and tiproll. Right now I'm using S&S tips, but will try others.
I have changed from no bass (hd 650) to flat bass (hek unveiled), and more treble than the 650. Surprisingly getting medicated for adhd changed how i hear treble
I love the great reviews, subscribed! 🤩
I've been waiting for your Punch review. Thank you. The Arcadia review was a nice bonus. Great insight on how they perform.
Glad you enjoyed it!

great one, Joyce
Looks like I'll be ordering an Odyssey soon.

As always, thanks for the detailed review!
Deeply empathize with your experience!
What do you think of these compared to the Deuce?
have both. deuce have more bass, punch much more details

Yeah, it's been a journey!
yea it's the same for me 🎶

These look good but the price... 💸
As for sound, I'm honestly very flexible but I do prefer my forward vocals and I also value good treble extention.
Hey. Great video as always. We you’ve attending CanJam Hong Kong and will there be a video?
Yes I will, stay tuned!

@ great!
On Punch vs Deuce - do they sound similar? Is the price gap worth it? I bought the deuce and although it’s fun, I do think it’s a bit muddy down low.
We want META with bass switches..Everybody will be happy 🤠
About same taste as you, still like boomy and punchy base , but all around for every day use a more balanced IEM like ISN EBC80
Well starting out I wasn’t sure what I liked. And now I have the mest mk2 realizing that I really like mids more than anything haha but solid breakdown on the two sets
I am also mest mk2 owner. Seems like my mest mk2 became irrelevant after 3 years
@ so what do you use now that replaces the mest for you
@@AdrianEqd I'm still using it and treating it as my benchmark IEM

compare with valhalla?
I'm surprised so many reviewers have never tried Crusher evo for end game bass.
Really? I gotta find a chance to try it at expo, if I can find them :)
*Dear Joyce, put on your best iems and listen to: Julius Vincent - Gate 24*
Thanks! Is the punch a definite upgrade to the duece?
Yes. Maybe by 2 tiers.
Punch 🤜
Matching nails 💅
1:00 I'm now more into to mid bass punch and a 2db to 3db sub bass lift not interested in booming bass unlike before
no ratings?
👍

the most expensive hbb kiwi ears at the moment
I just got my set in...first thing I noticed was that the cymbals seem recessed. (On Punch)
HBB sets typically have very relaxed treble so that tracks.

@@elasmojones understand. It seemed to get better including the bass each week

Joyce made good comparisons. ✌️🤍👍
Thank you! I tried my best to be as objective as possible.
@JoycesReview Hey, sorry to bother you, but are you a pro audio engineer, a hobbyist, or just a big fan?
