Universal Studios Hollywood Walking the Backlot VIP Tour

The footage in this video was recorded back in 2013. It shows some of the most seen-on-screen backlot sets that guests can visit at Universal Studios. The VIP tour gives you up-close and personal access to walk around and take photographs/video. Tours are subject to change due to filming schedules.
It was a good call to leave the War of the Worlds plane crash set dressed to become an addition to the tour. The Psycho House is great to see, and the Pirates of the Caribbean Set is also a good time. It was pretty mind blowing to walk on Colonial Street. This is where they shot one of my all-time favorite comedies, The Burbs. They’ve used the street for decades in several movies, tv shows and commercials. The Munsters, Animal House, Dragnet, Deep Impact, Desperate Housewives and Leave it to Beaver are amongst the most well known. I’ll have to revisit in the Future to see Court House Square and other areas. Court House Square is filmed regularly at the studio, therefore difficult for guests to visit. It’s the site of the town squares used most famously in Back to the Future and Gremlins. If you are in town and planning to go to studios and take the tour, you can call the morning of to check the film schedule.

Correction: The Munsters/Ricky Butler House is not the same house that was used as Granny Mundy’s in Dragnet. They used the house next door. The Connie Swail House was the same house used as the Petersen House from The Burbs, across the street.

Next year, Im going To the universal studios with the VIP pass, especially to see, and be able to walk down wisteria lane. But the thing is, Im sooo afraid the tour's not going to stop there, the tram rarely go in Wisteria lane and we can't predict when its gonna go down there or not

Derry Forever I know what you mean.. I have the same recurring problem with Court House Square ( Back to the Future ) ha. I wish there were a better way of knowing. At this time you can only call the morning of to get the filming schedule of that day. I hope you get your opportunity to walk on that street, it’s pretty surreal. I’m sure things will workout for you.

forgot to say that all movie studios on there backlots should have a tv screens in place with water proofing material round to show scenes shot on wisteria lane aka D.H of an actual episode on a repeat mode to show constantly how how 1 of the houses looks on filming same with the movies

Yes, its seen in quite a few productions. From Dragnet to Beethoven to Deep Impact to The Burbs to Leave it to Beaver etc..
