Morse Code is NOT obselete... This is still the best method of communicating across long distances without much technology... i.e. communicating via flashes of light.
Oh, not obsolete at all, a few examples of current Morse code on my TH-cam channel if you are interested in seeing how Morse code works today! Morse code is not difficult to learn, and once you know it it becomes another efficient form of "text messaging" practiced by a large number of amateur radio operators around the world.

Still used widely in aviation although now a days you don't normally listen to it yourself a computer deciphers it.
