That whole scene watch the background for a beautiful stain glass circular window. It's there. You can actually look up on Google maps where Notre Dame is and how far the empire state building is from there witch is close to where linguini lives. He rides his bike to and from work so his home and work place are about 20 mins apart by bicycle.
