Hey, that was me on the Calabasas Peak climb, the guy you chatted with and who turned off on Red Rock Canyon. It was great to meet you, and for the record I wasn't in the event and just happened to start climbing the fire road at the same time as you. I live near by and was just lucky to see you. Great video, I really enjoyed seeing my local climbs and routes :)

I was worried with the editing that it looked like you chickened out on the climb when I knew you were headed that direction anyways. I need to add production notes!

@@GravelBikeCalifornia no worries ! I’ve done the climb many times and I do know how hard it is from Red Rock to Calabasas Peak. 😁. I think that day I went Old T to Trippet to the Hub after leaving your route. So much good graveling around here!

It was so golden to finish off the ride with one. Maybe two...

Nice gravel ride. It gets less and less places to find gravel, least here in Florida but I got to ride some nice gravel roads in South Florida past week. Nice ride 👍

The great thing is collectively we're making the world all a little smaller and finding more and more places to explore. It's such a great community.

I made the mistake of going up Bulldog, down Puerco, then back the same way. I thought I was going to die...here's my own experience: th-cam.com/video/QrCgTrl-hl4/w-d-xo.html So yeah...that ride is no joke. I thought I was in shape until I did this. I've been afraid to go back. The food at PF might help.

I did Bulldog -> Puerco and decided to return on Las Virgenes which wasn't a great choice either. Watching your video definitely shows how it puts it to you.

Puerco IMO much harder climb then Bulldog. BTW are you interested in doing this route again when it cools down a little? I rode it about 5 weeks ago from my house in Westlake Village minus Calabasas Peak. When I got to Mulholland (exiting Malibu Creek State Park) I was spent and it was hot so I skipped Calabasas Peak. Still 55 miles 7400 feet of climbing! Anyway maybe get Zabriskie, Jack Nosco and some of the guys together to ride this route again! Self supported of course!
