My grandparents have a similar device to this on O2 that they use as home broadband (they only use about 30GB a month) on a 2 year plan with 40GB data including device for £29/month and so far they have been pleased with it. Its much faster than any other option they can get in their area. They can get about 3 bars of 4G and a speed of 20Mbit down and 15Mbit up
Can you control NAT settings for online gaming? I have problems with a strict NAT type when tethering from my phone to laptop with no option to change to moderate. Would this help?
I'd like to point out the small differences between this model and the larger varient. Larger battery USB port to use as battery bank Uses Type C to charge Has option to have 5Ghz WiFi as opposed to 2.4Ghz.
Thank you! I have a Huawei Mobile Wifi E5576-320, I like all the lights on the EE Mobile Wifi, but they are both really small, compact and easy to use if your in an area where you need to pay for the hotspot of it's password encrypted, you could just bring your own.
Hi. Is this provider independant? I mean can i use it in france with a sim from french mobile network provider such as orange or sfr? Is EE the name of mobile provider in GB?
Thank's Peter, I've always liked you and your videos. I found this one, as usual, to be comprehensive and informative, and on the strength of your info., am enjoying using my EE4G Mini Wifi router with no issues. I think they're brilliant little devices, maybe a bit pricey to run?, but I've been getting a good, strong signal from it wherever I am, and I enjoy the convenience of a guaranteed connection from this easy to carry around little box!. Again, many thank's Peter 😉
I just bought the upgraded version of this and the sim cannot be detected it just says no sim when u try to set it up which leads to no signal. Could I have a faulty sim??
How good will this compare to wifi boxes because im going on holliday and need to use it for my ps4 and phone Is it about the same as phone mobile data or is it a lot better?
Thanks so much for your review, this video helped me during storm bella - no broadband at home and didnt know how to get into the admin console to add my prepaid APN details.
Hey Peter - I wonder if with your expertise you could help me? I think Openreach are installing FTTH/P infrastructure in my lane and the Council has kind of confirmed this but I'm not certain as we are in the middle of nowhere. If I showed you the snaps I took of the telegraph pole furniture I've seen installed (seen some evidence of underground install but nothing on the poles is connected to the ground near my house (yet), would you be able to tell? Can I link them here?
Great video but id say if this is for home use you are better off with Huaweis B315 or E5186 as those routers do the same but get a much better signal. My EE mini does 40 down and 7 up but I also have an Huawei B315 which gets 67 down and 28 up as well. If you need the portability go for the mini but if its for home pick up a 4g router instead.
i don't understand. why would you use this? most phones can now be used as hotspots so with me i top up with giffgaff get 5gb and i then share that in the car with family using hotspot on my phone. i dont understand why this is needed???
I've just got the device and i'm registering with EE, they are asking for my 4GEE WIFI number, where can I find this? Tried all numbers in box but not working. Many thanks
If you go on add-on.ee.co.uk, it will provide the mobile number for the SIM. Otherwise, maybe what they're asking for is the IMEI which should also be on a label on the unit itself
Hang on, are EE just giving payg customers a slower device? Check the one they give free to home broadband customers, check the specs bud, i was given mine as an emgc device if my home net goes down when you will get it auto loaded to run up to 20 devices, including Streaming, Skype, online gaming, without any effort, if they can do that I'll save a fortune and leave EE and get it unlocked for unlimited data,,,,,,, mines a diff shape, check ebay, all the people who got them free are selling IMO a gadget that's under contract??
Prism don’t fucking use it in a plane u twat it’s like trying to use data on a plane it could interfere with the plane controls and crash the plane it’s happened before PEOPLE DIE!
I'll take that as a compliment! I recently made a video about the new multi hundred mbit version of that 4GEE WiFi here: th-cam.com/video/kJmp9aUgjD0/w-d-xo.html Doubt I look much different though.
OMG boy u don't half waffle on babe..! You cudve had all that down, done n dusted in 30 seconds (maybe less), but for some reason beknown only to urself u chose not to. Instead u almost bored th skimpies offa me almost to th stage where I was about to Google my local psychiatrist! LESS IS MORE SON... LESS IS MORE! Ps, but thanks for the info. Very long-winded but somewhat educational 😶

The non mini version does 5ghz which I think is important.

You should go on tv make a few faces smile Great video
I have been on TV a couple of times.
Hi Peter. Can I connect my WiFi printer to this? If so how??
That would depend on what printer you have. But I don't see why the wireless printers I have wouldn't work on it.
My three UK mifi works fine with my printer wirelessly. Printer is a Epson xp445
Does it work abroad? Was considering getting one for my holiday to Spain.
Yep, they work abroad!

Can you get unlimited plans on this ?
Nope. 50GB is the maximum at the moment.

There is no mobile network coverage in the underground yet so no.

Nerd
Thank you for your kind word
DICK
You do know nerds have been popular for years NOW lol Everyone wants or tries to pretend they are some sort of nerd. FAIL on your part.
Bill Gates and Steve Jobs also Nerds. Odds on you sending your comment from their innovations = Very high. Without nerds you can't function.
