Good video Blake, can I ask why the switch to minitwin is it cost related? I got my ACU in March but a big off a pembrey getting ready for first race weekend stopped the funds to fix! On the ZX6r I was similar pace to you last year before racing so tyre bill wise how much better off will you be on the minitwin? Im thinking of the switch myself just to get racing and having fun! If its cost related maybe a little info in the next video to explain the differences for people looking to get involved would be good😊 keep up the good vlogs mate👍

@@jamesmackie2844 long and short of it was cost yeah. I needed to sell the ZX6R to fund a van repair and ended up with a significantly smaller amount of cash afterwards to buy a competitive 600 so went for a twin.
On a 600 you’re looking at a rear tyre every weekend and a front every other if you’re about my speed, the twin should do 2 full weekends on a rear but I’ve not had it long so we’ll see.
Also you’ll need a good spec 600/1000cc with all the upgrades you can possibly afford otherwise you’re potentially giving away free time to other riders whereas you’re allowed so few upgrades on a standard twin that you don’t need to worry so much about equipment.
Also parts are cheaper when you break something. What the saving means over a season I don’t know, I’ve only been to 2 meetings on it so far 👍🏻

Nice one Blake. Good your 'off' was not painful. Some good camera angles. Your sound is a bit sh*t by the way, I'm sure you know that ;-)
I've just started racing mini twins, done two meetings, Castle Combe and Donnington with NGRRC. We race alongside Open 500 class which seems to be mostly CB500's and the odd NC30 (400cc) Honda. Been really loving it. Doing Anglesey next week (21st Sept), and that will be my first time there.
You have any good advice for that circuit, where you can go faster than you think, etc? Good overtake spots?

@@tinkertime7165 thanks for the feedback, the sound is shit because I use an old GoPro 4, the cheapest drift ghost available and a £10 external mic for the phone clips, I do the videos as a bit of a video diary for myself to check back on so I choose to spend the money on the riding before the production quality 👍🏻
Anglesey is one of my weakest tracks usually so I’m not best placed to give any advice as I don’t go well there and my lap times are terrible. There’s a lot of time in turn 3 on a low powered bike if you can get on the throttle nice and early though as it leads onto the back ‘straight’
